🍼 CLINGY - Taewon follows his hyungs like a lost puppy. He craves attention from them and though he showers s with love so lavishly, it can sometimes be very tiring and suffocating to them. From linking their arms together, hugging them, following them everywhere, wanting to do everything with them, asking them to go get ice cream together, wanting to watch a movie together, asking them to hug him, and so on, can sometimes come off as unbearable at times. He's very attached to s at the point where it can be pretty hard to not be annoyed with the younger. Whether it's his young age, the fact that he's seperated from his family members or whether because he was coddled like a child his whole life by his mom to blame is unknown, but highly likely to all three of those scenarios. He is and will always be considered the baby in his family and thus would be spoiled rotten with love and attention from his family without even asking for it. But now that they are not around, someone needs to fill that spot, and the most logical and suitable target are s.
🍼 SUPPORTIVE - Taewon is a very supportive and encouraging friend. From writing cute post-it notes like "fighting!", "do well today!" or "don't give up!" and sticking them to your door or saying these things to your face. He'll cheer you on to keep going and to face forward without hesitation and looking back. Even if the whole world wasn't on your side and would discourage you, he'll still cheer you on and motivate you to continue doing what you love. This boy will always be ready to lend a helping hand, and he'll do so without wanting anything in return or expecting some type of payment. From eliminating your hesitation or ridding you of your doubts, to having a word or act of encouragement for you, patting you on the back, to giving you advice, to spending his time with you, and sharing his ramen to make you feel better, he lives for uplifting others rather than dragging them down.
🍼 EUBILLENT - If you're looking for an energetic pup filled with spunk, you've come to the right place because Oh Taewon is probably one of the most energetic young person you will ever find. People who are older than him can feel like a grandma or grandpa because he's always so full of energy. There's an ongoing joke between the staff members that Taewon swallowed a firecracker when he was young, and it's constantly going off inside him 24/7. He can easily be compared to a beagle for they similar traits. There's always a bright smile that adorns his face and a laugh that will never die out. Taewon is like a shaken up soda can waiting to be opened and burst. A bubble of energy.
🍼 DISRUPTIVE - Taewon's ebullient nature has a downside as well; and he sometimes gotten himself on the bad side of some school teachers, peers, and people because of his "disruptive" qualities. When Taewon decides to speak, suddenly, nothing can stop him until he runs out of subjects. And if the time calls for silence and stillness, it's best to not have Taewon around because he will mess that up in a matter of seconds. He does not know the definition of an inside voice nor would like to use one. He doesn't and won't hesitate to get other people as pumped up and excited as he is. There will rarely be a day where it's quiet in the dorm rooms because of her loud voice and her occasional, "Good morning chingus!". She's indeed like a firecracker, nobody knows when she's going to go off, and when she does go off, good luck getting her back to 0.
🍼 PEOPLE PLEASER & SELFLESS - Taewon is always looking to help others and is willing to drop what ever he's doing if anyone needs him. If you need someone to get you a glass of water, ask Taewon. Need someone to help you clean the house, go to Taewon. Need someone to save your seat, go to Taewon. And if you need help in the kitchen, go to Taewon. All you have to do is find him and ask for his assistance and he'll do what he can. Obliging and graciously hospitable, it has no importance whether you have helped him or not, he is always there ready to help. He is caring and self-sacrificing. He will try to help you in any kind of circumstances and to the best of his abilities. Even though it seems normal for him to do these things since he is younger than most people, Taewon wants to please people, and though it sounds nice and helpful since he never says "no" or rejects people's requests (even if he doesn't want to do it), it is also bad. Most of his time is spent on other people and he doesn't have a chance to do whatever he wants. He sort of becomes a push-over because of his people pleasing attitude. {"oh..we're going to go get kimchi fried rice? I really wanted ramen, but it doesn't matter. if you want kimchi fired rice then let's go get kimchi fried rice"}.
🍼 HARDWORKING - Taewon has learned from his trainee life and his teachers constantly telling him how he truly has to work hard to get whatever he wants. He isn't afraid to practice all day and night to get exactly the result he wants. He is a passionate individual who works hard to achieve his goals. He knows what he wants and he's ready and willing to put in any and all his effort to accomplish those wants. He sets his sights and standards almost impossibly high, and pushes himself tirelessly to reach them. And he does ask for help when he's struggling with something. He likes hearing people say his dancing is great because he worked hard. He likes it when people acknowledge that he's improved because he has worked hard to do so.
🍼INNOCENT - Taewon is very innocent. He doesn't curse or do "bad" things. He wouldn't and couldn't find it in himself to purposefully hurt someone else. He doesn't meddle in things that hint trouble nor sees any ill in others. If he lies, he'll feel super guilty and he'll tell the truth soon after. He becomes very flustered when curse words or vulgar words are mentioned. That also includes dirty jokes as well, that is, if he understands them. Because of his innocent nature, when he picks up on a word used by another member or a word he's seen or heard before which he doesn't understand, he asks another member for the meaning of the word. Depending on the word, they'll either tell him what it means or come up with an excuse not to tell him the meaning or give him a false definition.
🍼 GULLIBLE - Taewon is gullible. He believes most things people tell him unless it surely is impossible. He trusts people without much effort that he just believes what most people are telling him is the truth. He believes things too easily and doesn't suspect much. Because of this, he falls for tricks and pranks ALL THE TIME, and has fallen victim to sarcasm more than he can count (he seriously doesn't understand the concept of sarcasm). Because Taewon is gullible, he thinks the world is all sunshine and rainbows, and expects people to act with only the good intentions in their heart. He gets taken aback when someone is rude or blunt since he's used to things being sugar coated. He truly thinks the world is easy going and accepting, not cold and rejecting.
🍼 ESCAPIST - With trying to be the best that he can, there are times when Taewon would just slip and let things take its course- with the help of a little locking himself act now and then, quickly changing the topic at hand when conflict starts to arise, or even occupying himself with something else for hours to avoid a problem or not confronting it. You can say that being conflict-averse is a sub personality trait that goes under his escapist trait. It seems like when things get all too real or too heavy for the boy, despite being told that he should be used to the harshness of life already, he'd close up and retreat into what others would call his little "adventure lands". Taewon would pack up a bunch of snacks and drinks and lock himself up in his room, in the practice room or spend his time at the beach until sunset or whenever his curfew for being outside is coming to an end. The thing about this is that, it's always rather sudden and is rather stressful to the people around the male when they realize that he's already retreated to this state.
🍼 PASSIVE AGRESSIVE - When Taewon is upset and/or irritated about something, he will become passive-aggressive; which means he will pretend not to be pissed off, and he becomes very petty. When it comes to problems Taewon has with others, he never wants to tackle the conflict at hand or bring any attention to it, thus, he avoids the conflict & arguments by becoming passive-aggressive. For example: if someone made him upset, he'll leave the room if they enter or are there. He usually gives that person the silent treatment and if they were to ask why he is ignoring them or if he's mad them, he'll respond with an, "I don't know what you're talking about", and give them a tight-lipped smile. Taewon isn't one to get very angry, he gets pissed off or irritated yes, but not fuming. You would have to do something quite over the top to get him really angry.
Taewon grew up in a drastic average middle-class family. He was the only son in a family of three. A massage therapist for a father, a stay at home mother, and a small chubby family hamster. You can see by the way Taewon acts, he grew up in an environment where he was heavily loved, doted on, given a tonne of attention, and cherished. His parents made sure of it since Taewon was their only child. You can say he grew up in a greenhouse since his parents sheltered him from all the bad and cold things from the "outside world". His mother would block and censor channels on the t.v that she deemed "inappropriate" and have his Netflix user set on kids. The constant phone calls from both parents to check up on him when he's not home. And making him believe in the tooth fairy, santa clause, and the easter bunny until his early teenage years.
Taewon's childhood is like what most people went through. He refused to eat his vegetables and became a picky eater when he was 4. he went on multiple play dates with his friends when he was 6. 7 years old and getting that baby blue bike he always wanted for Christmas. The only exception to what most people went through in their childhood was having to go trhough Korean Sign Language classes at 8 in order to understand your mother who has aphonia. Essentially, Taewon was free to do whatever he wanted and got whatever he wanted as long as his parents deemed it safe and okay. But don't worry, his parents made sure he wouldn't grow up to be a snobby spoiled brat with prince fever.
His parents also made sure that he knew of his duties of being a son as well, and that though he didn't have a job he must help contribute to the household. And thus, he was taught how to do the dishes, he helped do laundry, clean the house, and helped with dinner if either one of his parents allowed him to. He didn't mind doing these things. In fact, he felt happy to help out his parents. He got good grades in elementary school, joined the jr.boys track and field team as well as the soccer team, and he built stable relationships with his peers and teachers. He never got into a fight at school since his parents often preached to him on how you go to school to learn and not fight.
When Taewon was in grade 6 (he was 11 at that time) it wasn't uncommon for teachers making their class sing a song for an assembly or an event. Taewon's class was singing Loveable by Kim Jong Kook for the spring assembly. With a catchy tune the song held and the small dance gesture that they did Taewon loved that song. He loved that song so much he kept on singing it, all though days and weeks have passed from the spring assembly that he drove his father crazy. His mother didn't mind as she loved to hear him sing and show off his little dance moves. It wasn't until the day he was teaching his mother how to do the dance moves where she shared how she wanted to become an idol but couldn't due to her loss of voice. It was also that day where Taewon got his newfound interest in becoming an idol and asked to take dance classes. His mother obliged to his request to give her son a hobby, while his dad did agreed in order to get Taewon to stop singing what he dubbed as the Unloveable song.
“I’ll sing mom. I’ll sing and dance for you. It’ll be like you are singing and dancing through me. You can live your dreams through me”
Unlike most who attended a regular academic school, Taewon's mother enrolled him in a school that specializes in the musical arts. Taewon's high school life is okay. He makes decent grades, and other than being very disruptive and talkative in class, his teachers don't have a problem with his schoolwork. Yeah he had to stay back for detention because he found telling knock-knock jokes in the middle of class was a good idea, yes he got called in for quite the many parent-teacher interviews, yes the librarian doesn't take a liking to him, and yes his best subject was dance and his worst subject was chemistry. Dance is life, but chemistry ain't.
During his first year of high school, Taewon went out to audition at multiple entertainment companies, big and small. He wanted to become nothing less than an idol for his mother, he needed to become an idol for his mother. Finally, multiple months later, in the year 2013, he got a call from a staff member who informed him that he managed to get accepted into Beau Entertainment and needed to come by the company to pick up papers. With good news to bring back home, along with contracts, Taewon was now getting closer and closer to becoming an idol and living out his mother's dreams.
"good morning honey, how was your sleep?"
a tall black haired lady with an air of shyness about her signed to her son as he walked down the stairs.
"good mom, how 'bout you?" Taewon answered back as he made his way to his mother and gave her a heartfelt hug.
"I am just wonderful honey. I'm sure you want to go down to the beach today since it's your favourite place. Forecasts are showing all shine and no rain today. Are you sure you will be okay on your own?”
Somin gave her only son a worried look after he pulled away from the hug but kept her hands on his shoulders. She knew Taewon was already 15 and that he could somewhat take care of himself just fine since the age of 12. but really, she could never stop worrying. Every time Taewon went out of the house alone she always worried for her son.
"come on mom, you worry too much. I promise to be careful and video call or text you right away if anything happens.” Taewon loved his mother more than anything in the world but her protective nature was way out there.
"Don’t forget to text me every hour as well.”
"How can i forget mom? I have been doing it every time I went outside since I was 11."
“I've got a strawberry lemonade for my favourite child” Taejoon sat beside his son and handed over the sugary drink to the younger.
"Dad, I'm your only child", Taewon laughed as he took a sip of his drink.
“Aish, look at you. This is why you’re so skinny,” A scolding voice came from his father. "all you do is stock up on ramen and drink liquids".
The elder took a bagged chicken wrap from his backpack and placed it on his son's lap.
“Chicken wrap, no mayo, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, carrots, and no cucumbers”
“You're the best!", Taewon happily exclaimed.
"I know, I know, the best dad award goes to me. Just do me a favour and finish it okay?”.
“Okay.” Taewon quickly unwraps the sandwhich and starts scarfing it down while taking quick sloppy sips on his lemonade.
"Woah, woah, woah, calm down there son. The aquariam won't grow legs and run away, haha!", Taejoon pats his child's back as he started to slightly choke, "besides, your mother will kill me if I told her I let you choke on a chicken sandwhich I gave you".
“Yah! the stove! turn the stove off Taewon!”, Myungjoo bursted in the kitchen.
“Y-yes!” Taewon did just what he said and he felt his appetite disappear when he saw the chunk of charcoaled vegetables on the pan.
“Ahhh…” they both sighed in relief and with a glance he took at his Manager's panic stricken face he laughed. He totally forgot about the fiasco that just occured a couple seconds ago. Instead, he enjoyed the ridiculous thing that just happened.
“You should have seen your face Myung-nim! you looked hilarious!”
“Seriously? Who even allowed you to touch the stove? You could've burnt the dorm down. This is why no one trusts you and Jinhyuk in the kitchen.”
Taewon pouted, "I didn't mean to burn it....I only wanted to make lunch for hyungs to eat".
Myungjoo rolled up his sleeves and sighed. He dumped the burnt vegetables in the trash and garnered up fresh vegetables, a new frying pan, a knife and a cutting board.
"What were you even planning to make? I'll help you make it. Not because I feel bad but because I'm starving right now", the manager put on an apron.
"Oh, okay. Still, thank you for helping", Taewon naively believed the elder's small lie at the end."I was making japchae. Well, trying to make japchae. This website listed it to be easy to make. Those liars"
Hyemi was confused as she was welcomed with Taewon entering the vocal room in the late afternoon.
"I'm sorry, did we have a vocal practice scheduled for today?" she asked him.
Taewon let out a small yawn and plopped face first on the small little coach occupying space in the room.
"Taewon? Hey, hey, wake up", Hyemi got up and lightly shook the boy. She knows how the younger has the habit of sleeping like the dead and she didn't want him to wake up with pain from sleeping on the small sofa. He should at least head back to the dorms to sleep.
"Wake up Taewon. You shouldn't be sleeping here".
"Noona~",Taewon whined as he was being disturbed from getting some shut eye. dann’s eyes widen in surprise.
He turned his head so he could face her. He gave her his best puppy dog eyes, "please let me sleep here. I've been practicing dance with Jihyo for a couple of hours now and Myungjoo caught me in the halls trying to sneak back to the dorm and dragged me back to practice. Please, oh, please, pretty please?".
"Aish", she knew she was being persuaded by the younger's beaten up puppy face but she also felt kind of bad seeing him exhausted.
"Okay, okay, you can stay, but only for half an hour. Nothing less and nothing more, okay?"
Taewon beamed up at her, "Thank you, thank you, thank you Noona! I must've been such a good person in my past life to deserve an angel like you. Goodnight!". Taewon got into a comfortable position and now had his back facing Hyemi.
"Taewon", she called out once more to the younger.
"Yes Noona?", he slightly turned to face her again.
"Stop always coming to me just to sleep and hide away from other staff members", she softly scolded him.
Taewon sent a mischievious smile her way, "I'll try Noona but no promises!"
"Yah! Oh Taewon wake up!"
Taewon's eyes fluttered open. Disoriented and sitting in an uncomfortable position, he looked up at Minhyuk with bleary eyes.
Ah…that’s right. He was in his math class and next to him sat Park Minhyuk, they were practicing algebra. Minhyuk was visibly serious.
"Yah." He began, “It’s one thing to fall asleep in the middle of class. and It’s a completely different thing to create the Han river on your desk."
Taewon's jaw dropped as he looked down on his wooden desk. Drool everywhere!
Minhyuk ignored Taewon's shocked face and continued, "Do you know how embarrassing it was to sit next to you when you’re saliva is pourig out of your mouth? It even went on my side of the desk! I had to telI all those who passed by and looked at the desk that I had spilt water just to save you of embarassment.”
Minhyuk, despite holding a serious expression, was playfully teasing Taewon and enjoying his visible signs of embarassment.
Balancing his studies and his constant inconsistent training periods made it slightly difficult for Taewon. He found himself spending a huge amount of his time at the company after school and on weekends. His grades began to drop during his time spent in the company. But after days and hours of studying, his grades steadily began to rise for one sole reason; the policy that he's a student before anything else, his parents staying up late to help him with his homework, and help from peer tutors. It was good enough motivation, because he knew if he were to have his grades hugely suffer then his parents will have him drop out from the company, and worried that his mother would be disappointed.
His training consisted of everything. From singing and dancing to even practicing facial expressions. Taewon's hardwork eventually payed off as every monthly evaluation he had somewhat good to okay remarks, specifically in the dance and rap department. Despite the praise, there was major criticism towards his vocals being too unstable, mediocre and unsynchronized to the strings, which made him practice even harder to be at least okay in singing. Taewon naively thought that after every monthly evaluation they will choose a trainee to drop. And so to save himself from being dropped he would practice day and night dancing, rapping and singing.
— Nite n Day's Taewon Caught Regifting Gifts From Fans! // This video provided by a fan shows Taewon giving sweets he had recieved from those who attended the fan meeting and gave them to the Nite n Day members, staff members & the manager after the fan meeting ended near the parking lot. // True & False ; This scandal was just a whole huge misunderstanding. As you know, Taewon is allergic to all melons and so he couldn't eat the watermelon flavoured candies he recieved. he kept the rest of the sweets and decided to give the chocolate to the members, staff and his manager who have all worked hard because he didn't want the chocolate to go to waste.
(+120 -11) This just shows how bratty and inconsiderate he is! If you don't like the gifts the fans gave you then give it back to them INSTEAD of regifting them. Looks like someone has a bad case of prince fever! ㅋㅋㅋ
(+101 -14) What if he just wanted to share them with members and stafff since he had so much candies and sweets given to him? When did sharing candies become a crime??
(+42 -5) Didn't one of the members say they're trying to limit his sugar intake? But I surely could've helped him eat them if that's what he wanted.
— Nite n Day's Taewon Seen Ditching School // Nite n Day's Taewon spotted by a few people around a mall, a local ice cream shop, parks, and arcades, all during school hours. Seems like Taewon is playing hookie instead of hitting the books. // True ; No misunderstanding behind it, he fully knew he was skipping school. Taewon wanted to get away from it all for a day. Get away from all the responsibilities, stress, workload, and expectations. Being an idol at 17 really has its downside, he is ed into the adult world and has to sacrifice a majority of his adolscent days for it. he spends so much time being Nite n Day's Taewon that he wanted time to be Oh Taewon. That's why he skipped school that day. he needed a day off. he knows his actions weren't right (and feels terribly guilty for it), but that day he spent doing whatever he wanted and just being Taewon was just what he needed. No worries though, this skipping school fiasco was just a one time thing.
(+113 -33) So are we going to keep tabs on a 17 y/o now? he skipped school, so what? Don't act like you never skipped a class before or even a day of school. It isn't uncommon for students or people at his age to skip. It just looks like people are blowing this out of porportion just because he's a part of an idol group. Reminder: HE'S A TEENAGER!
(+59 -91) he isn't a good role model for fans that are his age or younger. If they see him do it then they'll also think it's okay to do what he does. he lacks discipline, is starting to act like a deliquent, and is obviously a bad student (if you couldn't already tell).
(+76 -19) Are you kidding me?! I lose my friends in the mall but people easily spot and see idols like it's an everyday thing. Where was I this day?!
— Nite n Day Taewon's Disrespectful Act to a Senior Group // Fancam caught Taeewon's rude and informal act towards a senior group by him barely bowing and giving them a cold face. // True & False? ; Taewon was heavily tired, just plain exhausted that day, he barely slept that day, didn't eat proper, was sick, and just wanted to leave. He didn't know that his feelings of irratation were showing on his face (nor did he know that he made that face outloud) and quickly gave them a slight bow forgetting that they were a senior group and forgetting that he had to do a respectful 90 degree.
(+120 -11) What happened to respecting your sunbaes? Respecting seniorirty? They've been in that profession longer than him and he barely acknowledges them properly. If this is what youth is like today then we're doomed.
(+101 -14) The prince fever is so real~
(+42 -5) I'm looking at this video from a screen and can clearly tell that Taewon looks like he's about to faint from exhaustion. I'm sure he just simply forgot to bow all the way. The senior group didn't make a deal out of it and i'm sure that if I can tell he looks exhausted from this fancam then they knew for sure when they were face to face with him. This sin't really a big deal.
— Nite n Day's Taewon Being Bullied By Other Members? // Pictures and videos of proof are currently starting to surface on the internet showing videos of Taewon standing off to the side quiet as some of the other Nite n Day members were talking to the camera in front of him, a screen shot of a video where Taewon is eating in the corner alone while other members were eating together and laughing, and pictures/videos of Taewon looking uncomfortable or sad around a member. This scandal kind of resembles the T-ara scandal that happened years ago. // False ; This scandal came out after a huge fight occured in the dormatory between Taewon and another member(s?). Taewon not wanting to tackle the problem at hand decided to instead distance himself from the other member(s?) so it looked like the members were alienating him since they were often together.
(+133 -4) Bullying Taewon? Bullying our baby maknae? Who? He looks so sad and lonely in those photos and videos. Please, oh please let this be fake or something we're reading too deep into
(+187 -22) People fight, girl groups get into arguments, and boy groups get into disagreements. It's normal for anyone to get into disputes with someone else. We don't know what goes on or happened behind the scenes but it looks like some type of conflict happened. Just give it some type and i'm sure they'll figure it out.
(+12 -105) Seeing the way Taewon acts like a brat, he probably deserves it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
— Nite n Day's Taewon Underage Drinking?! // As the Nite n Day fandom knows, Taewon, the group's maknae, is currently 17 years old. It became apparent as one user noticed that during their latest V Live, Taewon was seen to be drinking a liquid contained in a clear green bottle in the background as one of the Nite n Day's member's we're talking to fans. No one knows for sure what was in that bottle but Soju, a popular Korean alcoholic drink, is popular for being in a clear glass bottle. When zoomed into the bottle Taewon holds, you can see the liquid within the bottle is colourless, just like Soju. Neitzens appalled and outraged of the news and are contacting Beau Entertaiment questioning how such a thing could happen and are calling for Taewon's removal from the group. // False ; The liquid within the green bottle was sparkling water. Some sparkling waters come in plastic bottles, green plastic bottles, green glasses or other coloured plastics or glasses. In order to get Taewon from drinking too much soda or sugary drinks, his mother told him to substitute them with sparkling water since it is fizzy (like soda) and is sugar free.
(+235 -47) I think the pressure of being an idol and being away from his family got to him and so he's getting rid of the stress by drinking it away. I say Beau ent should really remove him from the group. he's too young to be drinking and his brain isn't fully developed. And if he's drinking openly like this, imagine how much he drinks behind the scenes.
(+123 -15) Is it me or does he seem like the most troublesome and problematic member in Nite n Day. One scandal after another. Infact, i'm not even surprised at this point. Not only is he tarnishing his group's reputation but Beau Entertaiments' as well. Like the majority of the comments, I agree that he should be removed from the group.
(+12 -115) But does anybody remember about the regifting scandal he had prior? It wasn't as it seemed. Maybe it happened, maybe it did not. Instead of spamming Beau ent with a bunch of messages of calling for his removal from the group. Why don't we all just wait for a statement from Beau?
"When you fall for someone's personality, everything about them becomes beautiful"
They met over Taewon's trainee years during one of his late night practices. Jinhyuk walked in on Taewon practicing his rap while dancing. Taewon quickly scrambled to stop the stereo playing music as he awkwardly and shyly smiled up at him and greeted him. Taewon thinking that he wanted to use the room bowed once more and tried to get his things so that he could leave but Jinhyuk stopped him from leaving right away and said that Taewon could go once more if he wanted to and that he wouldn't mind. Bowing once more as a "thank you" Taewon went to turn on the sound system and Jinhyuk went to sit in the corner of the room. Jinhyuk couldn't help but watch Taewon as he danced to the music while rapping. He couldn't help but notice that Taewon had some troubles with conveying his rap while dancing because he was short of breath and had slight difficulty with hsi raps staying on beat while his dancing had no evident problems. Jinhyuk invited him to stay a little longer and see if he could giver her advice and help him out with his struggles. Taewon not wanting to be rude but feeling embarrassed since he knew him rapping while dancing wasn't the best (however eh could do the two seperate just fine), agreed to get the elder's help. However, the late occaional lesson that was a one time occurance became a thing. It was during these late night practices that Taewon met someone who he can consider a good friend within the company (including other trainees).
For the next couple of months Jinhyuk kept coming back to watch Taewon as he always practiced alone late at night when most to all of the trainees went home. Jinhyuk always brought food with him while Taewon gave him his happy go lucky attitude in return. It became an unofficial tradition for them to meet up at the practice rooms (well Jinhyuk would always be there and Taewon would come whenever he had the time). These late night dance practices turned into goofing around, to late night hang outs while eating, to getting to know each other, and talkig about the reason why they were here in the first place was to help Taewon with his practices that just seemed to be forgotten on both parts as they continued to meet up in the practice room.
At first it was just a mentor-student thing to Taewon. He had no romantic feelings for Jinhyuk as he just wanted to help out a fellow trainee who was struggling. However, things didn't exactly go to plan as Taewon got to know Jinhyuk. Like his little habit of chewing his pen or pencil when they spent the night trying to come up with lyrics, to finding out the things he liked and didn't like (Taewon learned only by his reactions because he didn;t really talk about himself), to taking a mental picture of the man when he softly smiled to a text he got from his sister, to the one time he worried the edler when he messed up on a step that caused him to fall on his despite his calm face, and to Taewon finding out that one time when he, unexpectedly, went to him when he was fuastrated at not nailing a dance in a couple of hours and Jinhyuk took him to the closest ice crem shop to cheer him up; all those things made Taewon fall for him. But Taewon being the confused gay that he is believes that he's just confusing feelings of admiration and thankfulness for Jinhyuk heelping him out and being a good friend for love. Taewon has never been in love, heck he hasn't liked someone before, and if he is truly in love with his leader then he would know for sure without any confusion...right?
If you saw them around each other, you would only see a pair of friends casually talking or spending time with each other. Maybe even a caring leader doting the team's maknae. Though if you are to look more closely, you will then figure out that there's more than an innocent friendship going on there. But out of the two people, one seems to be more oblivious to the fact. On Jinhyuk's side, he wants something more, he had known for a while that he was completely whipped for his band mate, Oh Taewon. The problem? Firstly, Taewon is a minor. Secondly, Taewon doesn't really pay attention to the fact that he is a minor who likes someone over the legal age. Thirdly, Taewon isn't fully aware that he does in fact love the elder and is telling himself that he got all his emotions confused. Taewon treats Jinhyuk like a best friend, and their relationship with each other can be described as platonic. Jinhyuk is always there to help Taewon; emotionally, physically, mentally, and Taewon in return would do the same, with an exception of helping Jinhyuk in a way where Taewon only can but is currently unable to do so. That being Taewon being unable to help Jinhyuk romantically.
🐙 Taewon likes using Jinhyuk's lap and shoulder as a pillow
🐙Taewon's secondary reaction on finding out about Jinhyuk's addiction would be worrying about the elder greatly and trying to help however he can.
"Should I put on a romance movie...?"
"Maybe if I hold your hand you won't think about it"
"If you like sleeping in other people's beds then you can sleep in mine if you want?"
When he catches Jinhyuk leaving the house late at night to go hook up with people, he stays up and wiats for Jinhyuk to come back to the dorm and gives him a light scolding on how he can get caught and get in trouble. Taewon would sometimes stay up late to try and prevent the leader from leaving the dorms because Taewon doesn't want him to get in trouble.
"Hyung it's past midnight, where were you?"
Taewonn's primary reaction when he first found out was confusion. He never knew such an addiction can exist, and he was very confused as to how he never found out in all the years he knew Jinhyuk. Taewon did avoid Jinhyuk in the beginning (he greatly regrets it later on) because he was very confused on the situation and needed time to process everything. He wouldn't out-right ignore Jinhyuk but will be more distant than usual.
"Does this mean Jinhyuk is different from the Jinhyuk I know?"
During his time of distance from Jinhyuk, Taewon used the time to read up on the addiction and find more information about it so he can understand it more. While gathering information he would recall all the positive interactions not only he has had with Jinhyuk but the other members as well. Taewon came to the conlucision that Jinhyuk is same great person he is and that his addiction means nothing to Taewon because Jinhyuk is Jinhyuk regardless on whether he's addicted to or not.
So Taewon decided that very day that instead of distancing himself from Jinhyuk he would rather much spend time with him and try to help him and support him in his journey and battle with his addiction.
