What do you prefer to read?

Hello,

i wrote a fanfic, but i always wondering, i really want to know how much readers like or might be dislike the story. so i really want to ask you several questions.

1. Which one do you like? serious genre or pluffy and cringe?

2. Do you like song fics?

3. If we talked about a criminal fiction, could you bare with blood and else?

4. it a must to have popular characters, so your stories could be recognized?

5. Do you like to read a story, but the character seems so different than it used to be? i mean (out of character?)

To authors, and readers i am sorry to asked these questions, i am newbie and i still don't really know how to make a proper story. i will be so thankful, if you could give me several suggestions, thank you so much..

good luck, be healthy and have a good day...

sincerely, Cyinthia

1. I love serious one but of course there should be some fluff here and there to make the story interesting.
2. First time hearing there are such things as song fics. Would like to see one soon!
3. I love crime like a lot! I'm okay with blood, murder and stuff because that's what makes the story interesting! But make sure to give warnings.
4. For me, personally, if you want to be recognised, yes popular characters is a must. No matter how good your storyline is, people actually pay attention to characters. Believe me or not.
5. For sure, that's what makes things interesting. To see how authors portray the characters differently from they actually are.

Hope my comments help you. I am a newbie too tho! :))

1. i love serious genre but in between that story you can put some fluff to make it interesting instead being serious from the start until end.
2. i never encounter any song fics so idk how it's work
3. criminal genre is absolutely my type of fic😍😍😍 blood and etc are bearable tho,, no need to worry abt that
4. popular characters aren't necessary as long as the story lines are good. if you make up ur characters name also will do
5. isnt that the beauty of fan fics heheheh i'd love to see it/read it

1) I like fluff, but I can handle a bit of serious themes and angst since it makes the story more... real? If I read something, I want to feel the emotions from it. If you want a dose of crack humour, that's good too as long as it doesn't throw off the story or divert from the original plot.

2) ... I barely read any song fics, BUT they'll work great if done right.

3) I love fics with action/suspense in it, it doesn't dull the story and if the author is really good-- it keeps me on the edge and anticipating for more. It's also great if the events happening in the story aren't repetitive and keeps the reader invested. I like stories that makes me second guess my thoughts and deliver a plot twist.

4) Personally, it's not always necessary to have well-known characters. Like, sure it'll get attention but I think it's best to work with the ones you're most okay with. Like why write a fic about them if you don't know them or aren't into them? It's not gonna be all that fun.

5) I don't mind a bit of OOC, I think it's fun and interesting to see an author's take on a character that makes them different from what they're normally portrayed as. If the personality change fits the story, then go for it. You don't always have to go with the standard personality of the character all the time, a little twist wouldn't hurt.
