Inspiration from Seyensay's Accidents Happen

Hyojin dragged her feet into the classroom, regretting agreeing to take this elective because she needed credit points. It’s just an elective, she thought. They’ll probably have lessons after my regular classes, she thought. Nope. 9am lecture on Saturday morning. Hyojin was dying inside as she walked into class with a bare face and her blonde hair bound into a messy bun, clad in a sports bra and black leggings with a hot pink hoodie over, her backpack hanging off one shoulder, her cellphone in one hand and a cup of iced coffee in another.

Hyojin decided to take a seat near the back, where nobody would disturb her. Seeing that the lecturer had not arrived, she folded her arms against the table to take a nap.

She didn’t know how long she had been sleeping, but she was awakened by someone calling her name repeatedly. “Ahn Hyojin, Ahn Hyojin, hey, Ahn Hyojin!”

“Yeah?” Hyojin looked up to see the lecturer staring her in the face.

“I’ll let you off this once, but I don’t want anyone sleeping in class again. Is that clear?”

“Uh- yes ma’m.” Hyojin yawned.

After taking a roll call, the lecturer introduced herself. “I am Toda Erika, your Japanese language lecturer. I have some rules for you.”

“Rule number 1.” Erika looked down to Hyojin’s desk. “No sweet drinks.” She swiftly picked up Hyojin’s coffee cup before sending it to the trash can, dropping it in in one move.

“This is going to be harder than I thought.” Hyojin groaned to herself as Erika continued to drone on.
