personality —
yeoreum has never really known when to give up. she's a headstrong character who will continue on her chosen path until someone ends her life :")) that applies to more than just her goals though, because yeoreum is totally a mom friend and will go through hell to see her friends alright. intelligence isn't really a trait, but yeoreum is genuinely smart, and she has a high eq. she knows what to say, what to do, how to act, in all sorts of social interactions, and she's always willing to spend her night talking to someone to make sure they feel better. besides, lol her random trivia knowledge comes in handy on shows... she's also thoughtful, if you can't tell already. she's a typical mom friend and notices the small details like everyone's favorite coffee order, everyone's nervous tics, etc, and she'll try to make you feel good about yourself :"))

on the other hand, yeoreum is so ing stubborn it hurts. she's so dead set on her ways that it literally takes an entire group of people to get her to change her mind about something (and even then, she might still not). due to her being hurt in the past, yeoreum often chooses to focus on herself more than other people. granted, this isn't the worst trait, but she can be way immature, throwing tantrums and everything, just because something's made her unhappy. for instance, if she's mad at someone, she'll ignore them until they apologize, even when it's clearly her fault (she's been working on communicating thoroughly, though). she's one of the blunter members. other ppl will sugarcoat, but not yeoreum. she blasts the truth at you, no matter whether or not you wanted it, and it hurts.

background —
yeoreum was born in suwon to a korean father and a chinese mother. she has twin younger siblings by two years, gaeul and gyeoul. for a while, everything was fine, and yeoreum thought she had a great life. sure, her parents were strict on her, and sure, she had to take care of her siblings, but all in all, life was pretty normal.

then, when yeoreum was 12, her parents divorced, her mother left, and yeoreum retreated into herself. her father tried his best to provide a normal life for his three kids, and it mostly worked for the twins, but yeoreum became distant and threw herself into whatever she could to distract herself. thankfully, it was school and music instead of drugs and crime.

her best friend, miyeon, was the one who got her into kpop. it was by complete accident; she had been listening to taeyang's wedding dress, and yeoreum asked to listen too. the song made her cry, and it was then that yeoreum decided that she wanted to listen to more of this music that understood her.

throughout the years, yeoreum studied hard and learned piano and guitar to be able to cover kpop songs, but it never once struck her to go into music. until the year she turned 16, miyeon went off to cube entertainment to train. yeoreum lost her closest friend, and she could no longer focus on school. she finally gathered up the nerve to audition for fnc, bolstered by the debut of aoa.

she trained and became friends with a lot of fnc people, including seolhyun, hongki, and seunghyun, but in 2016, disillusioned with not yet having debuted, yeoreum left. by a of luck, she stumbled across golden entertainment, and it's all history from there.

— friend : kim seolhyun / 24 / aoa / 8/10 / after yeoreum made it into fnc, she became friends with the aoa members closest to her age. one of them was seolhyun, and though yeoreum has since left the company, they still keep in touch.

— he's someone who's very quiet in the beginning, and you think he's an emo boi, but then after you get to know him, he's hyper, he's weird, he's 4d, everything. he's genuinely talented at music, but he's plagued with self-esteem issues and doesn't think he's good enough. he cares about the people he cares about and even cares about the people he shouldn't care about, and he notices details. he reads the atmosphere well, except he's tactless and will oftentimes say the wrong thing to the wrong person. he pushes limits sometimes and doesn't know when to stop.

love story
— yeoreum wasn't close with seunghyun at first because he seemed like an emo boi, and she was not an emo gorl. however, she met him through hongki, who said that seunghyun could help her with her guitar skills, and they ended up becoming good friends. their personalities go together well, except when they don't, so they're either best friends or archenemies, depending on if anything's happened lately. at some point before she left fnc, yeoreum found out that his parents divorced when he was in middle school, and she told him about her own parents. they both cried that day, but it pulled them closer. after yeoreum left fnc, they didn't keep in contact because, well, training stuff, but after she debuted, they recommunicated, and eventually, yeoreum will notice that something oddly hurts when she sees him with another girl...
