jang sunhui this was her birthname prior to her adoption into the buchanan family. sunhui remains as her middle name, and it's also what she went by in korean school, so if someone were to call her by her korean name, she'd respond readily.

sylvie aside from being her stage name, it's also a long-time nickname from her childhood started by her mimi and gramps. anyone who is family or a friend calls her this. and while it's not too different from her name, it's certainly cute as hell. 

peaches / darlin' her parents call her these names for no other reason than that they love her very much and maybe too much. while her parents use both nicknames, her mother tends to use 'peaches' while her father tends to use 'darlin'.'

sundubu sylvia's korean name is sunhui and she happens to love sundubu jjigae very much. her best friend, stevie likes to call her this from time to time, especially if sylvia is eating sundubu jjigae.

sylvia stands at 166 centimeters and weighs 50 kilograms. her mimi sure didn't bat an eye when sylvia got her ears pierced six times (standard and upper lobes, plus a double helix on the left ear). but just don't tell her what her granddaughter's bmi is because that poor woman really isn't going to like that. she might fly out all the way out to korea just to feed sylvie and complain that college and her "singin' and dancin' deal" are starving her.

the first thing that people notice about sylvia is her striking blonde hair that ends a bit past her shoulders. she wasn't always blonde, though. it was a beautiful dark brown up until two weeks into her training when she just showed up with blonde hair as if she always had it. she didn't tell anyone it was happening, but boy did it happen.

rm caught on a steamy date in street market, linking arms with a mystery girl? sources say she's a bighit trainee! [sort of true] she was definitely a bighit trainee hanging out with namjoon, but it definitely wasn't a date. and the pap snaps certainly showed them linking arms, but it also showed how crowded the market was that day. they just didn't want to lose each other.

the newest girl in the lineup is a student at one of korea's premier universities??? [true] she transferred to snu from georgia tech just a year ago to finish off her upper-level curriculum in chemical and biomolecular engineering.

twenty-one-year-old jang sunyoung was walking down the street on her way to meet up a guy who asked her on a date a couple days prior. the weather was finally temperate, and there was a warm breeze that gently blew against her long, dark hair. her cropped tank top exposed her midriff, she wore strappy platform sandals on her feet, and she was the epitome of youthful vibrance. but as great as she was feeling in the moment, sunyoung knew that she was walking on the path to doom. she didn't particularly like this guy. he was bland. he was arrogant. he was overtly flirtatious, and he didn't just hit on her; he hit on several of her friends. she only agreed to the date because it meant getting a free meal out of it.

then, the accident happened, and jinho never made it back home from work. the immense happiness dissipated into the air almost as though it was never there to begin with. the rest of the pregnancy was lonely, and sunyoung was stuck in a mountain of financial burdens that she struggled to tame. she tried desperately to stay strong, but she came to a point of realization that she couldn't give her child the life they deserved in her current state. thus, she came to the very painful conclusion of giving her child up for adoption.

it was february 13, 1998 when jang sunhui entered the world, healthy and beautiful, the spitting image of her mother. her mother actually laughed when her water broke. the day before valentine's day. who would have thought? and then the laughter turned into weeping. february 13, 1998 was when jang sunhui's life began, but it was also when jang sunyoung lost a part of herself. she vowed that she would never love another man again and that the love for her daughter would never die. perhaps, one day, when sunyoung can stand with confidence and stability on her own two feet can they meet again.
