kang bitna is a very friendly person but she doesn't seek out people on her own. she will often be lost in her own world, occupied by her hobbies or practicing choreography, until someone approaches her and they talk. it's unnoticeable when she gets tired out by interacting with others because she's always so cheerful. it's not that she's an introvert but prolonged interaction with others feel unnecessary unless she really enjoys their company. it's actually pretty scary that she'll be the same happy bitna whether she's in a 3-hour long confference or actually doing things she loves. she doesn't let herself look sad or ungrateful which stresses out more so she appreciates it when her close friends (yeonjun and huening kai) let her rest and not force her to talk when she's with them.
bitna is often dubbed bitna claus because she never forgets anyone's birthday and she gives them a small gift (even txt's soobin gets a carton of almond milk!) or treats them out when she has the time. she never forgets her parents and always sends them letters every week. she likes giving other people stuff to remember her by because she's afraid of being forgotten so she tries her best not to forget any of her friends and does her best to help them out when they need it but she also makes sure that she doesn't have anything more important to do. she's fine with being the of jokes and laughs along with people, sometimes even initiating the joke herself (and she often makes it look like an accident because it's funnier) as she likes seeing people enjoying themselves. she's also a very humorous person, often making witty jokes but sometimes she goes too far and makes insensitive statements without meaning to (she realizes them just as quick and apologizes, making an air of awkwardness).
she's very focused on her goals and exerts her full effort while trying not to get distracted. she got straight a+s during her school years and she's determined to debut so she will often not attend parties or noraebang nights just to practice. she also will forget to eat meals and someone has to remind her to eat, sleep and rest even just take a nap because she looks super sick already.
bitna in general is a very cute person. her tone is bright when she talks, always smiles and is not shy in any way. she is the member of tnt who is very friendly with fans and the fact that she still stumbles over korean words helps add to her cute-ness. she also has a sort of 'duality' when she's really tired as it shows a serious side to bitna (some have made compilation vids about her being tired and captioned it as 'things that annoy bitna' but it's like that 'irene hates men' video that they made just for fun). sometimes, though she's so tired that she does weird things like sip soup out of the serving spoon, missing the glass when pouring a pitcher of water, or replying "thank you" when they ask her if she's feeling fine. it's really weird that she never makes mistakes while dancing, though. it's like her veins are coded with dancing machine fluid!
bitna is the type of person that lets people cut in front of her because she might get into an argument, and she doesn't like getting into fights, but not if there's a long line of people behind her because she's afraid they (people behind her) might get angry at her. she likes avoiding fights if she can because she doesn't really know what she's capable of doing when provoked. she's a passive person but she might suddenly get really aggresive.

due to her stress building up, it backfires in some way. you may be able to see her serious face showing when she's too tired to smile. when someone teases her but she's already been irritable for days because of many other reasons, it'll seem like a big issue for her and she'll blow it out of proportion. she'll apologize later on but it stresses her out more someone teach her that it's okay not to force herself to be happy when she's not omg.

#RAMYEONgirl due to her naturally noodle-y hair (THAT SHE ALWAYS flat irons SO NO ONE KNOWS except for her family), this nickname was inevitable for bitna. but this nickname is thoroughly unrelated. once, she FELL ASLEEP and FELL FACE FIRST INTO an INSTANT RAMYEON SHE WAS waiting to cook (via hot water, of course). she got woken up by huening kai, one of the younger bighit trainees, saying that one of his friends went to get some tissues for her. the guy who went to get some tissues always referred to her by 'ramyeon girl' after that incident. ...and that was the story of how bitna and yeonjun met.

BITNA weighs 50 kg, and STANDS AT a height of 165 cm. if you didn't know, that is very tall for a girl if you live in the philippines. but after coming back to south korea her height seems to be average, and compared to other trainees and girl group members, she could even be called small. bitna developed a bit of a height complex but she consoles herself by buying thick insoles.
she hasn't dyed her black hair at all before debuting and only has her hair cut to be rid of split ends, so she always sports long wavy hair. sometimes it is styled in a ponytail or let down. without her hour-long flat iron ritual that she wakes up at four am for, she will not have wavy hair but rather a monstrous noodle hair.
o o o she wears comfy sneakers daily. she will put insoles to boost her height but will have difficulty walking on heels so she avoids them. she is a comfy person and prefers everything she wears to be comfy and nothing too flashy. solid colors and SKIRTS are the way to go.
o o o she doesn't hold back at the dorm: just sweatshirt, sweatpants (sometimes no sweatpants when the sweatshirt is oversized and the female managers often catch her and force her to put some goshdarn pants on), and a pair of fluffy slippers. don't forget her fluffy earmuffs to muffle out random firework sounds at night ...or maybe a gunshot, you never know. either way she needs to get those precious zs.

habits suddenly falling into a deep sleep when she's really tired she should never close her eyes for longer than 5 seconds or she's gone / a one-hour ritual of straightening her hair in the morning then doing a quick 10-min make-up / she does a 45-min beauty routine before she goes to bed so maybe that's why she's so quick with make-up in the morning / lip- and lip-biting (a lot of people made videos of this habit of hers into crack vids and reaction gifs) / she's traumatized by fireworks and in the past loud noises, smoke in general and the scent of fireworks but she's gotten better. now, she just gets really surprised with explosions from far away, and crouches in a fetal position if there's like an explosion very near her
languages filipino (tagalog) - her main mode of communication. she's basically a filipino in a korean girl's body / english - her second language which she speaks with no audible filipino or korean accent / korean - the language she dreads but wants to master because her rapping coach told her that she had potential with her rapping but she knows only like 2% hangukmal (jk she knows like 35% and her coach 100% probably only told her that because bitna doesn't have any talent in singing)
other she misses the philippines but she had focused on her schooling more on her 18-year stay in the country than making friends so she misses filipino food more than anything else / she isn't very pious but still prays before meals and before going to bed / despite her bad eating habits she only drinks water, you'll never see her drink any type of softdrink milk juice tea alcohol or coffee / no one shall know that she drank a whole glass of soy sauce (complete with ice cubes) when her brother pranked her telling her it was coke / she likes her biases because they're very funny on variety shows and doesn't care about their images unlike her
bitna didn't have difficulty at all making friends with fellow trainees. although she worked hard, she shared her break times with friends and acquaintances alike. some of them even debuted with her or debuted as txt members. her close friend, yeonjun became her main competitor for honing her skills whilst having a good personal relationship. of course, she had her own share of fights and misunderstandings with other trainees but she opt to forget it even happened. it also helped that most of them stayed away or moved companies after a while.
regarding her performance, bitna had a hard time keeping up and has been on probation ever since she came to the company. her dedication for dancing was the only thing she held on to and she tried to familiarize herself with doing the moves how she wanted it to show. she never stopped practicing even when she got sent to the clinic multiple times to get iv drips due to lack of sleep. many girls quit or moved companies after the news of a new boy group debuting in bighit in 2019, she didn't. this was her only chance. after her 3 years of training, she could hold a note and write her own raps and spit it with a decent flow. she even produced several mixtapes for fun while she was training but her biggest improvement was with her dancing. her dancing that could even make yixing from exo exclaim "i see balance in your form!". moves that are well-controlled while seemingly effortless.

HER FAMILY MOVED TO THE PHILIPPINES, A SOUTH-EAST ASIAN COUNTRY NEAR MALAYSIA, RIGHT AFTER HER MOTHER GAVE BIRTH TO HER BECAUSE HER FATHER HAD MANAGED TO BUY an ACRE OF LAND QUITE CHEAPLY. SHE WAS RAISED IN A PROVINCE A BIT FAR FROM THE COUNTRY'S CAPITAL BUT IT WAS EQUALLY JUST AS BUSTLING (OR SO SHE HAD ASSUMED, she's never been to manila).
SHE LOVED THE FOOD, THE SPORTS, AND PLAYING GAMES BUT BITNA NEVER REALLY QUITE UNDERSTOOD WHY, OF ALL PLACES, DID SHE HAVE TO END UP IN THE 'FIREworks CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES'. every end of the year, tons of people flock their shop to buy various fireworks. it was all okay until one year when she was fourteen years old, their shop was engulfed in flames and the firecrackers and fireworks erupted. the whole street which was had a bustling fireworks business all turned into ashes the next morning.
after what happened, her father didn't want to stop the business they have despite the accident. they moved to south korea the next year because her older brother got into one of the hardest-to-get-into universities in seoul.

ever since coming to south korea, she felt like an absolute foreigner. she didn't understand basic korean language and it was hell. she was just glad she'd already finished high school in the philippines. she heard that even high school was very difficult in south korea. her brother had really changed after moving. he used to hate studying and only spending time with his friends but after the move he suddenly stayed in school more and even enrolled in a cram school. his grades were also good. a huge difference with bitna who was a top student in the philippines but started to look into a career of being an idol.
she finally had dreams and it was the same with her brother but they were being treated differently by her parents. she does the house chores to make up for her chasing her dreams but there is an undeniable favoritism. i guess getting into yonsei came with a huge perk. her mother is a bit understanding but her dad already ignores her when she tries to talk to him about idol companies she plans on auditioning for.
TRAINEE LIFE Pt. 1
when her family moved to south korea in 2015, bitna was so overwhelmed by the hallyu wave that she auditioned for sm entertainment (shinee and f(x)!!! minho her bias!) the same month they arrived. of course, she didn't get in lmao. she was good in dancing but she wasn't exceptional. she didn't give up and auditioned for cube (b2st's company!), and then jyp (2am!! 2pm!! jo kwon!! miss A!!) but her average face and mediocre dancing didn't impress anyone. she begged her mom to enroll her in dancing and singing lessons instead of enrolling her to college (a big shock for her mom because she was a straight a student back in the philippines until she finished high school). it was a tough battle because her mom didn't really want to throw away her daughter's academic achievements. bitna promised her mom that if she didn't have a company in a year, she'll get a business degree in college. her mom agreed to enroll her in dancing classes. but her mom thought that it would be better if she at least learned some korean while she had free time.
she auditioned in various companies while she attended dancing and korean language classes and practiced singing on her spare time. she passed auditions for woollim (infinite!) and bts' (suga!!! /dies/ he's so cool) company after a couple of months (8 months haha). she couldn't believe it! she didn't know which company to start training in but woollim had just debuted a girl group the year before and they she might not get to debut in a few years because of that so she chose bighit entertainment. this was the start of her trainee years and she made another deal with her mom. if she didn't debut in four years, she'll go to college and get a masters. lol, she's desperate. she doesn't want to inherit her father's fireworks business or get kicked out to live in the streets.

he's an annoying like most older brothers are. but he was the only friend hada had in the philippines. he also introduced her to his friends and they mostly hung out playing basketball and video games back then. he was not a good student in the philippines and always stayed out late but ever since coming to south korea, their parents have been doting on him more for studying his pre-law degree on social science comparing bitna to him as if he wasn't bad at his studies in the past. they don't always get along but when they do, they're like inseperable twins honestly. / "hey bitna, you know i've been studying really hard to graduate. do you think you could introduce me to one of your group members?" he's shameless. and even though he has the looks, it's his desperate and cheesy personality that chases the girls away.
after the noodle incident, he noticed bitna was usually by herself and since he wanted to befriend her he just approached her. they often talk when they see each other and when he was on probation, bitna helped him with his dancing. he was really grateful for it but that didn't stop him from teasing her every chance he gets. they have this relationship that they both show their affection for each other by teasing.

they have lots of inside jokes with huening kai and they also talk a lot about video games even fighting about who's better at it. bitna sees her as her bestest friend and yeonjun doesn't really want to be more than that even though he has thought about the idea of being with her a million times before. he just likes her. and being with her is always fun.
they knew each other before the noodle incident. darn koreans and their confusing language. he and bitna were both koreans by blood but they had problems communicating with the language. it was pretty funny when he approached her and talked to her in korean, and they had a conversation that sounded like they were both five-year olds. then bitna got the great idea to try and speak in english because he looked like a foreigner. wow, they both thought and breathed out a sigh of relief.
they kept on bumping into each other in the halls and on valentine's day he decided to give her a chocolate (he gave chocolates to all of his friends) because bitna was one of his first friends in bighit. after that she gave him a rice roll when she saw him again. it spiraled into them exchanging foodstuffs and then eating lunch together even eating at a cafe near the company building (sometimes with yeonjun) because they like eating so much.
