(+) : Erika is someone who will never give up in pursuit of her goals and never stop until she reaches where she wants to be. She likes talking to people even though she's not good at it, just to help those who find it hard to assimilate feel more at ease, especially in a big group. Possibly due to being born on Valentine's Day, Erika has a loving heart and cares deeply for those around her, especially those closest to her. She also stands very strongly to those she loves and always puts them before anything else.

(-) : Erika is easily upset by criticism and needs a lot of assurance that what haters say is not true. Another time when she'll need assurance is when she feels neglected or unwanted. Erika tries her best not to upset others, but if she ever does, she'll avoid the person or overcompensate to please them hoping it will appease them rather than straight up solving the conflict. If she feels her goals are too hard to reach, she'll give up on them unless she has a lot of encouragement from those around her.

(0) : Erika gets embarassed easily and feels awkward when complimented or when she makes a small mistake. Although she likes talking to others, she doesn't open up to people quickly. However, she's very ostentatious in showing her love for through words and actions, and it can sometimes scare others off if it is unwelcomed. If Erika has praises to give, she'll give them wholeheartedly, but when she is upset, her criticism is harsh too.

background. 

Erika was born to a pair of doctors who migrated to Singapore in the 1990s. During her school days, Erika found it hard to make friends due to her priveleged background and not being able to relate to other kids. However, when she entered primary school, she started taking ballet as a CCA and fell in love with it, later begging her parents to send her for ballet lessons outside when she was 13. Secondary school was also the time when Erika had many crushes but was unfortunately rejected by all of them.

After secondary school, Erika wanted to go to an arts college so she could get a professional qualification and work as a ballet coach, but they insisted on her going to junior college first. However, it seemed like it was a good thing they did, as that was where Erika had her first love, a boy from the basketball team. In 2015, Erika discovered the girl group Gfriend after accidentally listening to their song, Me Gustas Tu, and ended up learning the choreography and posting a cover on Youtube. After 4 long years of not dancing, she had fallen in love with dance again, and it helped her relieve stress during her A level year.

Unfortunately, Erika's happiness was short lived, as her boyfriend's life was taken by a drunk driver in February 2016. As if things couldn't get crueler, that was when she found out she was expecting his child. Even though she had passed her A levels with flying colours and could get into many top university courses, she decided to put her education on hold and care for the baby instead, as she couldn't bear to have an abortion. Due to Erika's small size, she had to have her son delivered at 8 months via C-section for doctors' fear of complications if she carried him to full term.

After taking three months to recover from her pregnancy, Erika started working as a part-time receptionist and admin assistant at a university while doing dance covers in her free time. It was also not long later when a fellow cover dancer who she had made friends with through twitter wanted to audition for Source Music. Erika realised this would be a great opportunity to pursue her passion for dance despite not being able to study ballet in an arts college. However, she didn't want to leave her son behind in Singapore if she became a trainee. Luckily, her parents were supportive and the family of 4 moved to Korea and Erika auditioned for Source Music after getting a tattoo to remind herself of her son. Erika was later chosen as one of the trainees to represent Source Music in Produce 100.

- Until they became Source Music trainees, Erika and Olivia had only ever interacted via twitter. While talking behind a screen was slightly easier, Erika is awkward in real life, with Olivia just trying to get to know the older girl better. Erika finds Olivia a little too loud but doesn't really mind it, and their relationship is mostly good.

trainee life. Erika got into Source Music after sending them an audition video in January 2017. Despite her background in ballet, Erika realised that K-pop dance was hard, and unlike ballet where she only practised for several hours a day, she had to dance for 12 hours straight with few breaks, even to drink water or use the toilet. Furthermore, when other trainees found out she was a single mother, they started avoiding her outside practise and gossiping about her behind her back. Furthermore, due to having to live in the same dorm as other trainees and restrictions on cellphone usage, Erika could not see her son and it was hard to keep in contact with him.

In 2018, Erika was sent onto Produce 100, with Source Music promising she could debut by 2019 or 2020 if she made it into the final group. Erika agreed and decided to give her all, just so she could move out of the trainee dorm and see her son again. However, unexpectedly, it was her son that earned her lots of hate from Korean netizens when she accidentally talked about him during an interview.
