TO ALL SILENT READERS

OkAY! First off before I start, I'm sorry if you're bothered by cursing, but I am honestly very frustrated and upset (mildly put). Alright then, let's begin this so called rant.

So I will start off by just saying this, some of us writers here actually dedicate a lot of our ing time to write a story that in the end we as writers are not happy with (that's actually me, let me know if you're like that), even though the plot and the grammar is great and you like it but at the end it just seems blegh ya know?

The worst part is that when you publish it, some of us get nothing, no feedback if what we wrote is enjoyable, casue some of you can't be bothered to comment something as simple; oh I like this story. Because 1 comment means everything to writers even if it's critisism, it means a ing lot, especially to writers that are like me, not confident, always feeling like their stories lack everything.

What pisses me off the most though is when I see comments on actual (sorry, I'm just going to be brutally honest from here on out) ty stories. Stories that lack proper grammar, proper descriptions, the plot so overused and just in conclusion a mess and a cringe infused story. Oh and lets not forget the so called 'writers' that OVERUSE korean words, and those as writers get comments like oh this is so good. Like what is good? Go watch a drama it's much better than this .

Then you get writers that spend so much time on their fanfictions. They plan ahead, they know what they want to write, they research things before writing them. They put it all together in one amazing story, but they don't feel like its ever going to be good enough, because everyday they log in and see nothing, that crushes a writer. Just one comment is enough to keep them going. Otherwise it just crushes their moral and they look at their story and it feels and looks , just because you all stay quiet.

I am just so pissed to see that stories get comments while some of us work our depressed, anxious asses off to write something good that you read and not give a single about it.

And yes I understand some of you are shy and idk what, but does anyone really even know your name? surname? adress? know you personally? No I don't know you, you don't know me. Seriously you don't even need to go in depth about it, just a simple comment like: i like this story. are thoose 4 words so hard to write and publish?

In conclusion I'd like to say; APPREACIATE WRITERS, 1 COMMENT JUST ONE MEANS EVERYTHING TO US!

Thanks for reading and yeah, I'm done with all of this

I agree with you. But, hey, there are readers who get the feels of what you called " stories" even if it has lots of grammatical errors, very typical plot and overused korean words. Agghh. It's frustrating not getting any feedbacks after updating few chapters already. I mean, yes, I gain some subscribers and all that whenever I update. But it only made me arrive to a thought that maybe my story is although I brain storm plots that is not typical (idk maybe i have not read something like mine but meh) and I try to write it out nicely with no errors even if it cannot be prevented sometimes. Writers go through writer's block but we try our best to update our story for the readers.

They say, you won't care about their feedbacks as long as you love writing and sharing what's in your mind. But they don't understand. The question like "is my story even worth reading?" always pass by my mind everytime and idk, it made me less motivated to update my story.

Now, I'm aiming to end my story (well writer's block) since it's really nearing its end (lol) and after that, I will only make one-shots whenever I thought of a new plot and there, I won't need to think too much for next updates.

I agree with you :-/

It’s so disheartening to spend so much time writing only to have it flop and be virtually not be recognized for that. I understand that readers are not obligated to comment, but writers are literally not obligated to write and post their work online either. Also, when readers say “if I comment, the writer won’t respond, so I don’t comment” also kind of seems like a bad reason to me because if I don’t get comments then I don’t want to write either—but I still do because there’s a chance I get something worthwhile off of it (feedback, criticism, enjoyment, etc.). Also it takes way longer to write a decent 3000 word chapter than it does take to write even a 30 word comment—which I understand, so I don’t get angry if no one ever replies to me.

Comments in general are really helpful to the writer when it comes to editing. Some of us don’t use beta readers to pick up plot holes, inconsistencies, etc. Readers can comment “hey, maybe you should check out chapter 3 again because...” and I would love them. Even if it’s not a comment of praise, as long as I can get something out of it, then I’m happy.

And unfortunately, there are a lot of things wrong with AFF—overused plot, random and horrible usage of Korean honorifics, bad grammar, etc. However, there’s really nothing we can do about that because people do have a right to write and read what they want (even if it’s to us).
