I was lost when you met me

you didn't turn away

you took me into your arms

At first it was hard to believe

I'vebeen through this before

I ignored your gentle presence

Left you knocking at my door

 

Through the days that we were new

I thought for sure you just walk away

it took a lot for me to realize

that you're really here to stay

 

I typically don't fall

I don't let myself be grounded

I prefer to fly free fall 

I prefer to stay well-rounded

 

But you pushed me off my course

knocked me to the ground 

sat upon my hips

as I looked all around

 

You told me you saw my mask

just as I have done for you

you told me that you knew

all I had been through

 

You held me as I cried

you rocked me as I fell

It was such a fragile time I could never tell

 

When you're by my side

I feel like I can be me

 

Don't listen to the voices

calling inside your head

telling you the bad things

feeling your heart with Dread

 

I have Demons too

this you already know

the demons have in common

they're disrupted flow
