APPEARANCE : She’s too skinny (doesn’t eat much, only eat snacks) and has pale skin. She has incredibly long, straight black hair that reaches eight inch above her knee. Usually she leaves her hair down and slightly cover her face, makes her look like Sadako from Japanese horror movie. She is actually pretty and attractive, if only she had a normal appearance. She has a round face with sharp eyes, pointed nose and thin lips, a representative of Chinese untouched and raw beauty. She has a scar at the end of her right eye from childhood past. One surprising thing is that she likes to paint her nails and change the color every week.

FASHION STYLE : Normally she’s wearing uniform neatly, but always wearing a red sweater over her uniform. Casually, she’s not very stylish and kind of monotonous. She likes to wear long-sleeved tops with red or black skirts or jeans shorts. Almost all her clothes are red, white, and black. She’s wearing gloves 24/7 to prevent her from directly touching any living organism.

PERSONALITY : Elodie is a quiet person and doesn’t know how to show affection. She only talks as necessary to people who are not close to her. From the outside she seems to have bad personality. But when you're really close to her, you'll find out that she's a very affectionate and very loyal person, willing to face death for the sake of the person she loves.

She suffered a mental trauma by a terrible incident in her past, so she built up her defenses by trying to looking creepy and lock herself from the outside world, pretending to be rude to make it look strong and not easily intimidated. She feels safe as she hides her face behind her long hair, when no one knows what she really feels and thinks.

She is very smart. She always thinks two steps ahead before starting to speak. Hence she is very good at organizing strategies that will greatly benefit her in a combat. Basically, she was not a rash person. Everything she did with consideration, because there is no point in doing something as soon as possible just to regret in the future. But as a result of her habit, people around her are often startled, shocked, even frightened when they saw her sudden appearance.

Her mood changed rapidly. For example, when she is cheerful (on Elodie's scale), she can turn to be quiet in the next second. Another example is, there's one time when she was so sad and didn't want to talk for 2 days, but suddenly laughed loudly and became chatty at the next second (again, on Elodie's scale).

BACKGROUND : Xiùyīng was born a genius. At the age of one, while another child were babbling in a language that only they and their mother understood, Xiùyīng was able to speak fluently and had even memorized multiplication tables. At the age of 5, Xiùyīng has studied algebra, while the children her age were just begun to learn counting. It makes her father very proud and often brag about his daughter's intelligence.

Her father who is an announcer often took her to the TV station just to show off how smart his eldest daughter was. One day, 3 weeks before her daughter's 6th birthday, he took her to the TV station and then left her playing with a puppy belonging to one of the staff while he was presenting a news program, and that was when her powers discovered. She was trying to grab the bone from the puppy's mouth, telling the puppy that it was not good for his teeth, but the puppy was barking and almost biting her hand instead. She got annoyed and hit the puppy's head with the palm of her hand. And to her shock, the puppy suddenly stopped moving, went stiff and died after a few minutes.

After the puppy incident, her power always came out whenever she feels upset or angry. Started from killing ornamental plants around their house by accidentally touch them when got annoyed, killed her neighbor's pets, and caused one of her friends died by smacking his hand while trying to grab her doll back.

Her father turned to very hate her and considered her as a curse in their family, the cause of his career breakdown. At the worst, he began to think that Xiùyīng wasn't his biological daughter, but the child of his wife's affair with her freak friend who lived in America by that time. He doesn’t know that his great grandfather had the some power as her daughter, and the fact that Xiùyīng got that cursed gene from him. This led to a great quarrel between Xiùyīng’s parents. At that time, Xiùyīng was only 6 years old, but her knowledge made her understand all the problems that occurred. She couldn't bear to see her father kept beating her mother, and thought it would be better if he didn’t have Dad. So she tried to get rid of her father by hugging him so tightly that he couldn't breathe, but her mother stopped her just before her fingers touched her father's skin. Instead of getting rid of her father, she killed her mother in the process. She also got injured right at the end of her right eye as it hit the edge of the table.

With her mother now dead, she became traumatized and doesn't talk. Her father tortured her and locked her in a store room with her hands taped together, along with Xiēníng, her 4-years-old younger sister. They were found starving and mental traumatized a few days later by Daniel Liu (the person who was accused of having an affair with their mother) and his wife, Jennifer Lee. Soon after, they adopted Xiùyīng and Xiēníng and took them to Boston, Massachusetts, US, where they resided.

Jenna (shortened version of Jennifer) was a healer and was graduated from Ledrith Academy, so he can handle a little of the mess she made. He told Elodie (the English name they gave to Xiùyīng) to always wear gloves to prevent her from touching living things directly. Her power became uncontrollable as she got older and Jenna began to get overwhelmed, so Jenna and Daniel decided to move to Jenna's hometown in South Korea, hope Jenna's friends at Ledrith can help her daughter. 2 years later, at the age of 14, Elodie went to Ledrith Academy to learn how to control her powers.

LIKES:
— Nail arts, as one of the side effects of overdosed with K-Pop videos and K-Dramas.
— Magical animals, because they are cute (and mean at the same time) and... Uh... Hmm... That’s all.
— Math. She learn math since she was soooo young.

— Skinship. It's more like he is afraid of hurting others when touched them or being touched.
— Don't touch her stuffs, she pricks. She always puts a certain object in a certain place in order to easily find it when she needs it, so she will be very angry if the position of the object is shifted even a few inches.
— Crowded place. Elodie is a quiet person who likes to be alone, so she feels uncomfortable when there are people watching her.

— Aphenphosmphobia, the fear/phobia of touching or being touched. She avoids physical contact, which related to her ability.
— Claustrophobia the fear of being enclosed in a small space or room and unable to escape. It reminds her of her biological father.
— Losing those close to her. She doesn't have many people close to him, so who else would she have if she lost them?

TRIVIA :
— Elodie can’t sleep without her humanoid dolls called Luna, Elsie, and Nausicaa. It was the last birthday present given by her mother.
— She's a light sleeper. The slightest noise awakens her at night.
— As mentioned earlier, she doesn’t eat much, often skips breakfast and dinner. Only eat snacks when she’s so hungry before lunch break.
— She cursed in Chinese whenever she’s angry.
— Get sulky when waking up her roommate but they do not even flinch. If only she can touch and shake their body like crazy.
— She has a beautiful voice, but prefers not to show it.
— She has plenty of sketchbooks at dorm, filled with her unbelievably realistic and detailed pencil sketches.

A friend of Elodie’s mother since they were 8 years old. He used to date Elodie’s mother during their high school days. He now works at a Biotechnology Research Center and secretly examines Elodie's genetic structure. He’s so curious about Elodie’s ability, like how could a simple, single touch able to kill a living thing? Does she have some poisonous particles or something in her blood? But on top of that, he does love her as if she’s his biological daughter. He had promised to give Elodie everything a daughter needs from her father.


               

—   ADOPTIVE MOTHER : Jennifer Lee / 30 / Neurosurgeon  

     Caring, elegant, wise, perfectionist. [fc: Stephanie Lee (model, actress)]

She’s half-Korean and half-American. She was graduated from Ledrith Academy, so she knows well how powerful and dangerous Elodie’s power is. She now works in a university hospital as a neurosurgeon, and secretly uses her power to help the healing process of her patients.

She may not be the perfect mother type, always busy even at night. But she will always be there whenever Elodie and Sally need her.


               

—   YOUNGER SISTER : Sally Liu or Liú Xiēníng (刘谢宁) / 13 / Student  

     Eloquent, loud, easy-going. [fc: Li Shang En]

She doesn’t speak Korean very well. She like dancing and is training to be an idol. Unlike Elodie, Sally has a bright personality. She didn’t remember about their biological parents and thinks that Daniel and Jenna are their biological parents. She loves her sister the most.

    Humble, thoughtful, curious, quite, prideful. [fc: Fromis9's Lee Seoyeon]

The only student who can bond with her so far. Haesook is the one who approached first, said that she saw her nightmare (of course it’s not because she wanted to saw it). It was obvious that Elodie was annoyed. What else would you feel if someone invades your dream? But one day, in her fourth month at Ledrith, when Elodie had more nightmares about her mother than usual and began to negatively affect her ability control, she came to Haesook and asked for her help to manipulate her dream. And to her surprise, Haesook was happy to help.

They have gotten close not long after. So close that Elodie doesn't mind to share everything to her. Even thought she's only one year older than Elodie, she perfectly fills the role of protective older sister in her life.

She’s pretty quiet as well, but smart and a good observer, so sometimes they don’t need to speak to tell what they needs to, they will understand each other just by looking at each expression.

Ledrith’s visual top ten who always trailing after her for every single day. Even though she didn't see him, Elodie knew that Woojin often followed him. He always wears the same perfume every day, so Elodie can find out where he is even though he's in an invisible mode.

     Outgoing, brave, ambitious, curious, boastful, cunning, insincere, jealous. [fc: Cassandra Lee]

If you ask her who is the most annoying person in her class? The answer would always be Kirana, the short shifter. While the other students avoid her and scared of her appearance, that short girl come to her instead and challenged her. When Elodie asks why she hates her so much, Kirana would always answers with the same question, says that she hates everything about her as though that explains everything.

               

—   CLASSMATE: Lee Mina  / 15 / Student at Ledrith  

     Kind, enthusiastic, loud, dramatic, sensitive. [fc: Loona's Gowon]

They’re not that close to be honest. At first she was afraid of Elodie’s appearance, but not last for a long time. Elodie feels comfortable with her because she's a healer like her adoptive mother and Mina always volunteers to help her cleaning up the mess she makes (healing the plants she mess with, but always creates another negative effect). Elodie often listens to everything about the healer from Jenna, so she frequently gives tips and advice to Mina, even though those doesn't help much.


               

—  FRIEND-LIKE TEACHER(?) : Song Junho / 28 / Caretaker & Assistant P.E Coach at Ledrith

     Easy-going, intelligent, caring, friendly. [fc: Eric Nam]

He’s a fried of Jenna. It was obvious that Jenna had a crush on Junho (during their days at Ledrith), but she never told him because she knew that Junho had a crush on another student and Junho just considering her as a lovely older sister. Junho enjoys showing magical animals to Elodie but never let her touch them (she never even wants to touch them though). Secretly keep an eye on Elodie’s progress over controlling her ability.


               

—   JUST TEACHER : Koh Jongsuk / 24 / Professor at Ledrith Academy  

     Charming, charismatic, stern, mysterious. [fc: BTS's V]

He’s the only one who can deal with her powers so far. He insisted to train her harder than the other students. Of course there is no romantic relationship between them.

THE ABILITY: Elodie has the ability to kill any living organism by simply touch them (directly) with her hands (fingers or palms). Her touch can kill within a span of 24 hours or even in minutes, depending on how long the contact lasts and how much energy she releases (doesn't work to herself. Just believe, she already tried it). In the case of humans and animals, it results in numbness, extreme pain, loss of muscle function to death, as well as when neurotoxins invade the central nervous system. In the case of plants, it simply stops the anabolic process of the plant and dies within minutes or even seconds.

Elodie currently has poor control over her powers and working hard on it. It makes her hate herself even more, but she knows it take time.

STRENGTHS: Her power works on any living organism. She is still trained to be able to control her ability, but often skips training because she's afraid that her power might harm the people around her when she loses control. For now, her powers commonly depend on her emotions. She can be very powerful and dangerous when she’s so angry, and be less powerful when she’s so sad. When she's angry, 30-milliseconds of contact with her hands can kill a stray cat, but when she's sad, it takes at least a minute just to kill a mouse.

WEAKNESSES: Still lack of control over her powers. Her hand feels numb when she uses her powers on a considerable scale (enough to kill 5 animals or 1 person). Her power does not work on people who have the same powers.

OTHER TALENTS: 

— Elodie is very good at organizing strategies that will greatly benefit her in a combat. She likes to observe and has excellent logic skills, so she can predict what will happen next.

— Her body is very flexible and agile, so it's easy for her to avoid opponent attacks in hand to hand combat. She could tell that she’s one of the best in self-defense, but isn’t great at striking considering it might kill her opponent.

MENTAL HEALTH: Suffered from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). However, she does hide it well.

PHYSICAL HEALTH: Besides being too skinny and pale, there's no problem concerning her health (But don't get it wrong, she's so strong). As an advantage of her thin body, she can run fast and very flexible. She doesn't have any specific disabilities.

DORM: 

Don’t misunderstand. The plants in her room are all fake. Placing the real plants in the room is a bad idea, because they need oxygen at night, and she doesn't want to waste her energy by fight over oxygen with them. 

DAILY LIFE: Elodie always wakes up early every morning to take a shower early, because for god's sake, it takes at least 30 minutes. She was not too concerned about makeup, but always makes sure her uniform is neat and clean. So after she got dressed and so on, she wakes her roommate who is still adventuring in the dream land. Usually she skips breakfast and went straight to class.

She always come to class earlier and stays later. In classes, she'll pay attention, or at least pretends to. But if she's not in the mood, she will pretend to feel sick and skip class, then take a precious nap in the Medical Room. It mostly works for some teacher because she has pale skin and she never shows her face properly.

When lunchtime comes, she goes and eats with her friends, always quiet and just listens to their conversation. She only talks if it's necessary. She usually skip dinner and goes to a certain place, spending her time by filling her sketchbook with random sketch (mostly Korean idol) while eating some potato chips.

On the weekend, she wakes up early as usual and leaves early in the morning to her hideout. She listens to music and practices dancing there. It used to be her mother's hideout when she was still a student at Ledrith, and is now her and Haesook's hideout. She will be back to dorm around 11pm and will come along wherever Haesook drag her to.

Elodie, after having waited in a long line for a little under an hour, is finally led into a dimly lit room, with long, scarlet curtains are pulled almost completely shut across large windows that cast a reddish glow. The large, wooden door suddenly slams shut behind Elodie, and she find herself facing a young man with a black mask over his face. Elodie feels as if she know this person, but she can’t put her finger on it.

The interviewer might be smiling under his mask. Or frowning. Who knows?

The man is sitting behind a large desk, holding a pen with a black clipboard in his hands. She walks forward coldly as if she didn't see anything, but actually dumbfounded by the way he dressed. Is this the best way to look all mysterious? Elodie thought to herself as silently giggled behind the hair that covering her face. He motions for Elodie to take the seat in front of him. Elodie sits down, and readies herself for a barrage of questions. The man seems amused, judging by his body language. The man then leans back into his chair, with a soft squeak.

"Shall we begin?"

Elodie still isn't quite sure why Ledrith is holding an Interview for the students in the first place. But she doesn’t have any choice anyway, seeing as there are some burly looking men outside the door. So, she nod.

Please Introduce yourself... and whatever else you feel like adding about yourself. Be as brief, or as long as you would like.

Elodie slightly lean forward to the desk, letting her long hair covered her face even more and secretly scared the masked man in the process.

“I’m Elodie Liu, 15 years old, second year.” She pauses, takes a deep breath before continues, “The rumors says everything about me so no need to explain any further, I guess.”

What are you opinions about Ledrith Academy AS A WHOLE? Like how things are set up are separated. Do you think it's Good, Bad... maybe you don't care at all, and just want this interview to end as fast as possible. I wouldn't blame you.

“Why bother asking if you know that I don’t care at all?" She says with soft voice but somehow sounds harsh. She could see the change of expression from the interviewer so she decided to answer his question. It's not a big deal though.

“Fine, I’ll answer the question. At first I thought Ledrith is a kind of Monster’s Prison, but I think I was wrong. Ledrith is cool, and feels like home. Ledrith reminds me of Harry Potter and X-Men.”

How ABOUT YOUR CLASSES, YOUR TEACHERS, AND YOUR CLASSMATES. How do you feel about them?

“Uh... I’m not sure about it. Beside math class, it’s all boring. Most of my classmates and even some teachers scared of my appearance. Am I that creepy?"

The man nodded almost immediately, but did not comment on anything. After more than a minute in silence, the man clears his throat and continues the interview.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO, OR ACCOMPLISH AFTER YOUR GRADUATE FROM LEDRITH? THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS YOU CAN TAKE. 

“I haven’t decided yet. I will probably work in the Biotechnology Research Center with my Dad, once I can control my cursed ability."

NOW ABOUT YOUR ABILITY. Tell me about it. How do you feel about being one of the magically gifted? 

Elodie snorts. “You mean cursed, huh? How can the ability of killing every kind of living thing be called magically gifted? Don't be ridiculous."

DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE HERE? AT LEDRITH? Be honest, or you could lie. You won't be hurting my feelings. 

“Honestly? Yes, I do. Ledrith keep me from potentially killing someone, or at least trying to."

That should be all. Unless you have anything else to say to me, the doors are right behind you. 

“Nope.” Elodie stands up and walks out of the door, not even bother to bow, but stops right before she close the door.

“Can I give you an advice? Don't wear that ugly mask next time. It looks terrible on you.” She grins sheepishly as she closes the door. Something hit her head the moment she close the door, she was talk way too much than she usually is during the interview.
