Haneul stands 184cm tall and weights 60kg. His tall figure makes him looks skinnier than he already is. Some people even nicknamed him skeleton due to this, but he doesn’t mind it. He has naturally raven black hair and a face that just screams visual (well, thanks to the doctors who did a great job on his face). He got large eyes with long eyelashes and perfect double eyelids. He's known for his plump lips. He has attractive smiles, accompanied with dimples and eyes crinkled slightly at the ends. But his always-ridiculous-expressions often ruin the look. bAckground:

Originally born as Kang Minseok, he’s a constant victim of bullying since the very first day of his primary school. People had always bullied him because he has an ugly face and came from a poor family. He had no friends and everyone isolated him, leave him all alone in the shadows. He cried and cried but he could not find the courage to tell his parents. The teachers ignored him and did not do anything to support him. Soon it got worse and he was blamed for the things he never did. The teachers did not believe him because his bullies acted differently in front of the teachers than they did with him.

His parents divorced when he was 8 years old, and he lived together with his father until his father decided to remarry two years later. Minseok doesn't like his stepmother. He thought his stepmother had captured his father's affection which had only been given for him for the last two years. But, his stepmother loved him very much, as if he were her own child. She was willing to do anything to get attention from Minseok, which Minseok hated to no end.

He has two younger siblings from his stepmother, Kang Seonwoo and Kang Seon-ah. He hates sharing love with more people, and often scolds his siblings for no apparent reason, but deep down inside, he cares a great deal for them.

His parents never knew if he was often bullied at school, because he never tell about his school life to anyone. He hid the wounds he got well. If he gets a wound in a place he can't hide, like on the face or on the arm, he will answer with the same answer every time his stepmother asks, "It's none of your business" and "I fell".

He suppressed it well, until the day after his graduation. He was smart enough to get a scholarship to study in Seoul, but he didn't want to go to any university, not with his ugly face. He did not want to spend a few more years being a victim of bullying because of his ugly face and old clothes. What's more, Minhyuk, his handsome best friend — the only friend he has since his second year in high school — will study at the same university as him. Walking next to him will surely made him uglier than he already was.

After a long debate with his parents, Minseok finally agreed to study in Seoul, but there was a price his parents had to pay. He asked for a new identity. He agreed to study in Seoul on the condition that he must have a new face, a new name, and a new appearance. His father firmly refused his request, but his stepmother immediately agreed, provided he wanted to go to college and live happily. So he finally got what he wanted, a new name, a new appearance, and of course a new face, even though his parents had to sell a piece of land to a loan shark at a fairly cheap price.

As his bandages from the plastic surgery come off and the swelling dissipates, people started to approach and interact with him differently than before surgery. Because of an operation he chose to have done, people started to treat him in a better way. People adore his new face, and wanting to be friend with him. He even got tons of girls falling for him. He lived a totally different life after the surgery. He even lied about his family. Aside from Minhyuk, no one knew that he came from a poor family and even had plastic surgery. Everyone in his campus knew him as Kang Haneul, the handsome one who came from a wealthy family.

He’s the very first person who want to be friend with him. they have known each other since high school, and have been close friends ever since. He’s the only one who knows about Haneul’s family and his school years. Their friendship felt real, and they didn't really try to force anything on one another.

When the two of them come to Seoul to continue their studies, Leemin begged him to live with him in his sister apartment (His sister went to Canada to pursue her dream to become a fashion designer), so Haneul can help him with his study, and Haneul doesn’t need to pay any rent for it. He even found some work for Haneul at his uncle's company, because he knew that Haneul had lots of debt because of his penchant for buying expensive items.

While Leemin and Kangmin themselves don't tend to be "bros", Kangmin and Haneul tend to get along pretty great. Kangmin always schedules his classes exactly the same as Haneul and Kangmin's schedules, so the three of them are always together on campus.

what does your side of the room look like?

 

♞ Aside from exam week (when his desk rather messy), Haneul's side of the room is indeed clean and well organized. Everything have its place, even the smallest thing. His bookcase mostly filled with thick medical books and magazines which has his photos in it. His sticky notes are also neatly arranged. There are several figurines from his favorite shows and games on his desk. He use different PC to study and play games, though he mostly uses a laptop for his school stuff. He has two, big closets, and a shoe rack for his sneakers (his formal shoes are all inside his closets, at the lower shelves). His bedding color mostly white with simple, black/navy pattern on it. Pillows = $290 each, fitted sheet=$390, flat sheet=$495, and duvet=$1,120.

Monday through Wednesday

06:00 am >> The alarm goes off. Haneul like to maximize sleep and therefore keep his morning routine to a rushed 30 minutes of getting up and sorted. He’ll wake up early sometimes if his classes start earlier.

07:00 am – 06:00 pm >> The war starts. Since he’s in his 5th years, he take rotation every department in his school hospital in small groups (8 people, and the two Minhyuks are in the same group with him) and actually get to observe clinics and surgeries. Attendance time for every department is different but normally it’s around 7-8 o’clock and sometimes earlier than 6. Nowadays he’s rotating the ER(Emergency Room). He have to do day shifts, which means he’s there from 7am to 6pm to help doctors (mostly interns) when they need a hand. Professors often give them lectures in the conference room and during their rotations they almost always have to give presentations about patient cases.

06:00 pm – 06:30 pm >> Dinner time. Usually with his team, or just with the two Minhyuks.

06:30 pm – 09:30 pm >> Studying at individual study cubicles in his school’s medical library. Sometimes he just go straight to the sharehouse when he’s too tired. When there’s an exam, He’ll study at the library until 11.30pm.

After he get home he take care of stuff like laundry and getting a little downtime, and then spend time with his housmates, watching TV or just talking with them on the rooftop and falls asleep. His roommate would drag him to his own bed or just sleep everywhere until one of his housmates find him or accidentally step on his hands. Sometimes they would find him dozes off when he tries to study.

Thursday and Friday

09:00 am >> Wake up time. It has been said that Haneul like to maximize sleep. He would likely to stay on bed for the next 30 minutes, playing with his phone before he get shower and get ready for his morning routines. Coffee and breakfast, gotta start the day right.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm >> Playing video games until lunch time, alone or with his housmates if they are home. Sometimes around this time Leemin and Kangmin would drag him out for some coffee time or PC room time.

01:00 pm – 04:00 pm >> Lectures.

04:00 pm – 05:30 pm >> Studying at library or just hanging around with his friends, and eats dinner before his night shift starts.

06:00 pm – 07:00 am >> He have to do night shifts that start from 6pm to 7am in the morning. Although it is exhausting and tiring, he feels happy and delighted to be able to learn and observe and even participate in the actual medical field.

Weekends

On weekends Haneul would wakes up around 10am, doing loundry, and then spends time with his housemates until he dozes off. Kangmin would pick him up around 2pm or earlier to prepare his photoshoot which is usually at 3pm, or shopping if he have no photoshoot scheduled. He would head back to the sharehouse around 6-7pm, having dinner with his housmates, watching TV or playing games, and studing until he dozes off. Saturday and Sunday usually the same.

A lot of the time, the day can seem from its structure to be highly repetitive.

♞ One of the Belle Epoque resident's friend come to their house and he/she is someone from the same school of him, so he end up dress up as a girl so he/she can't reognize him (please please!).
♞ His step mother come to visit him and he gets angry, afraid that the others would know that he's come from a poor family.
♞ He falls for one of the girls. Hard. But he's afraid that the girl he falls for would know about his dark past and would then tell her friends about it.

♞ Haneul falls asleep in the Kitchen. He sleep on the floor near the fridge. One of the residents of Belle Epoque accidentally stepped on his hand when he/she is about to open the fridge to get some drink.
♞ Road trip plus night game, like 'truth or dare' or something, and Haneul is asked about his biggest lie he ever made. There's no way for him to tell them about it since himself nowadays is the answer. So, he ends up drunk.
♞ Seowoo run away from home and come to Seoul. Haneul scolds him but let him stay for few days anyway. He calls his step mother to let her know that Seonwoo is with him and he'll send him home in a few days.
