Ways Anxiety Affects Me

This is just a random blog post I'm making after having a conversation with a friend of mine regarding my anxiety. I've always known about my anxiety but never really viewed it as too serious of an issue because although it does affect me negatively, I still have control over it in most cases (a bunch of my friends have told me otherwise though, and that I should get it checked out regardless but coming from a close-minded family, doing that is a lil tough on my end so I found other ways to somewhat cope). I do suffer from panic attacks but they're very seldom. My anxiety is more inclined towards social anxiety as compared to general anxiety disorder, I would say. But yeah, that friend of mine was quite curious about how anxiety actually affects people so she asked me. So I felt like creating this blogpost to share with other people that may have the same curiosity. Of course, I'm not saying everyone with anxiety is affected in this manner. This is just purely based on me.

1. I don't speak unless spoken to. I don't know, I've always feared being the conversation starter. lol

2. I don't approach people either. Unless it's a life & death situation. Or for work purposes but even then it takes me A LOT just to take a step towards them

3. As a writer, I tend to re-read my work multiple times just to check my content. As long as I'm not at least 95% satisfied with what I've written, I won't let the public see it. Thus why it takes me days or weeks or even months to get a chapter out. Damn

4. Same thing happens with emails. I'd read that so many times before I deem it worthy of sending

5. I hate phonecalls - both making and receiving. Especially receiving. In general if I can avoid having a phonecall, I would. In dire cases where that can't be done, I'd rehearse what to say before actually making a phonecall. When it comes to receiving phonecalls though, if your number isn't saved in my phone, I won't pick up. If your number is saved in my phone, highly likely I also won't pick up, unless given prior notice.

6. People moving my things without informing me strongly annoys me. Because then when I need it, it won't be where I'd left it. Then I'd have to go through the whole phase where I frantically search for it and think I lost it and then beat myself up over it because I thought I lost it.

7. I don't like making plans. When I do though, people better as heck not make changes to it at the very last minute and by last minute I mean 1-3 days prior to that. The amount of stress I faced just to plan that

8. I have troubles sleeping at least 3/7 days in a week. My body is tired but my eyes are wide open.

There's probably more to this list but what I've stated above is what happens more frequently. Do you have anxiety? How does it affect you?
