"nice to meet you! i'm nishikawa rei."  something that's always evident with rei is that she's extremely friendly. she is in no way shy and gets along with just about everyone. she enjoys being around her friends and knows just how to have a great time.

"what's your favourite colour? i have about ten."  rei is always talking. like the girl never shuts up! she's always having conversations with someone, whether they are a friend or stranger. rei doesn't have a hard time approaching others and finds it quite easy to do so.

"wait for me! please don't leave without me!!"  rei being dependent is just the tip of a gigantic ice berg. the girl has some serious separation issues and tends to be really clingy to those she is close to. it might be because of her age, but it really gets annoying.

HAHAHAHAHA."  if you thought rei being clingy was bad, then you definitely haven't had to spend more than an hour with her. the girl is super loud, like she has no concept of an "indoor voice" at all. she is often hushed or told to be quiet by her older members, to which she usually apologises.

background. nishikawa rei was born on july 4th, 2002 in nara, japan. she has a japanese father, nishikawa yuki, and a korean mother, jung mirae a.k.a nishikawa mirai. rei grew up in the famous deer populated nara, japan; due to this, rei has always had a huge love for deers! rei grew up as the oldest child of two, her younger sister riko being born just four years after herself. thankfully, rei didn't carry a lot of responsibility with riko, only having to play and hang out with her on occasion. rei grew up very invested into sports, swimming to be exact. rei was so good at swimming that by the time she was ten, she participated in the national youth swimming competition of japan. rei didn't win first or even third, placing seventh overall. despite that, rei still felt accomplished with her win. it was around this time that rei took an interest in kpop music. when she was 13 years old, in 2016, rei auditioned for jyp entertainment through their online auditions. to her surprise, she was accepted and soon enough, she was in south korea training. after a year at jyp, rei moved to noir media and has remained ever since.

back when she was training at jyp entertainment, rei befriended the iconic twice japan line. the three older girls were really nice to her upon her arrival in south korea, helping with whatever she needed if they had the time to. although rei has long since left jyp, she still considers sana, momo, and mina to be three older sisters that she never got to have.

out of all of the dream project members, rei considers dooshim to be the most responsible and mother-like. dooshim is always looking after the other members and making sure they are doing okay. often times, rei will latch on to dooshim whenever she is confused about something or is feeling unwell.

the kindest and most down-to-earth member of dream project has to be kakei a.k.a karen. karen has always been a sister-like figure to rei. the two get along really well, with karen allowing rei to be clingy even though it has to be super annoying.

rei's fellow blondie of the group and someone that she considers to be a good friend. just like with dooshim and karen, rei will hang or latch herself onto chankya. the two are always able to have some sort of fun together, whether it's mischevious or light-hearted is up to them.

rei's best friend and closest confidant is none other than rowen jang. the two joined noir media around the same time, their joining period only being a few days apart. the two pretty much complete one another and tend to cling to one another as a result. don't tell rowen, but rei is sort of jealous of jaemin and how close he seems to be getting to rowen.

trainee life.

 when rei began training to become an idol, things were pretty hard. the overall training system at jyp is strict despite the family-like atmosphere. often times, rei felt overwhelmed or unsure of her decision of becoming a kpop trainee. after about six months, rei slightly got herself more grounded at jyp. she began improving rapidly at rapping, although her singing and dancing still needed some work of course. after another six months, rei decided to leave jyp due to the stressful environment and ended up joining noir media. luckily at noir media, rei was able to learn at her own pace and began to show improve in singing and dancing. during this time as a trainee, rei was often used as a backup dancer for the soloist seohyun and her songs, "gashina" and "heroine."
