Positive - When in a group, she doesn't feel the need to make people agree with her opinion but rather hopes to come to a mutual compromise among all members of the group. She's not one to force her ideology on others, and is accepting of most opinions and viewpoints from others. "Anyone can do what they want as long as they're not hurting themself or others." She is very creative, and other than wanting to be a performer, she became an idol because she wanted to be a songwriter. background. Karen was born to unmarried parents on 9 April 1996, and her birth mum disappeared not long later. Her father was a famous actor, and the scandal hit him quite hard but he recovered from it, and his acting pay managed to get her through primary and secondary school and provide her a comfortable life. Her schooling life was pretty normal, nothing good or bad but she didn't have many friends as she wanted to keep to herself because her father is an actor. When she was 13, she heard SNSD's Gee while she was at a mall. Though she didn't understand the lyrics at that time, she was instantly captured by the upbeat and catchy tune. She managed to find out the title of the song and artist through SoundHound in her phone. Some googling revealed that they were K-pop idols. She ended up watching their MVs and live shows on YouTube. Furthermore, her father being an actor made her want to perform even more. More than how "cool" it was to wear pretty outfits and sing and dance for thousands of people, she admired how they worked as a team.

• She carries a red ribbon with her at all times as it was part of the packaging for her 16th birthday present from her father. It was her first smartphone and the most expensive present her father had bought for her.

• She loves all sorts of cute things.

• She created a secret twitter account to search up what people say about her and her group.

• She gets carsick and has to have the window seat when she is in the car as focusing on distant objects helps her to feel better, she also eats mints when she gets carsick as it helps relieve her nausea and headache.

• She facetimes her father on his birthday but hopes she can go back to Hong Kong to celebrate his birthday with him one day.

Dream had a cameo in Code Blue season 4 (inspired from Red Velvet's cameo in DOTS but maybe for their case the trainee doctors went to Dream's concert, I can imagine Yokomine Akari being a fan of them) (Fuji TV better produce Code Blue season 4!!!). Karen initially thought Erika was cold and calm but Erika ended up being surprisingly hyper and outgoing. Karen loves the way Erika laughs and she thought it was memeable, and she loved Erika's personality so much. Unlike with Hyuna, Karen was able to confess to Erika but it took a long time.

stage name.Kayly. She was okay with the English name her dad gave her, but she wanted her stage name to be a little more interesting and creative. The second character of her Chinese name is pronounced "Kay", and the "LY" stands for "Loves You". She wanted to show her fans that she loves them.

• Karen had been practising singing and dancing on her own since the age of 13. Right after graduating from secondary school, she auditioned for Cube Entertainment and was accepted. She was planned as part of the lineup for CLC but as their first debut approached, Karen was unable to meet the standards to debut and was sent back to the basement (LOL). In 2016, CLC was planned to comeback with two more members. Karen thought she would make it but narrowly "lost" to Eunbin in the final evaluation, therefore getting sent back to the basement again (sorry I really don't know how to describe). Nevertheless, she remained good friends with Elkie, the fellow Hong Kong girl. When Karen started training with the to-be G Idle members, she thought this would be a breakthrough for her. All was perfect until she dislocated her left knee joint and had to be hospitalised for six months for physiotherapy. As Cube didn't want her to drag the debut of G Idle, Karen was dropped as a member of G Idle. This hurt her too much and she decided to resign from Cube altogether. However, when she confided in her father, he encouraged her to persevere and stay in Korea to fulfil her dream, for as long as she needed to. While going through physiotherapy, Karen saw an ad in the newspaper that Noir Entertainment, a fairly new entertainment company, would be holding auditions for a new girl group. Karen sent them a video of herself singing "Light" by The Ark and was accepted. Noting her injury, Noir did not train Karen for powerful dance moves.
