TRAINEE LIFE nova's journey into stardom began at sm ent, where she was street casted during a family vacation. she soon left the company, after getting intimidated by the amount of talented trainees and feeling insecure about her talents.
she joins bighit later on in that same year, after being scouted once again. since there was a lesser number of trainees (since bighit is a way smaller company), she found it easier to make friends. it wasn't like sm, where competition was so tough that you rarely see any trainee friends.
somewhere in early 2012, she was chosen amongst a few other trainees to debut under a group called glam. it was her 4th year of training at the time, so she felt that it was the right time. however, she wasn't picked for glam. it was one of the toughest times of her life, and she even wanted to quit for a bried moment. through sheer perseverance and the support of other trainees, she continued training and stood up even stronger.
after not being put in glam, she was recommended by bighit to start training as a rapper. they claimed that her husky voice sounded great whilst singing, but they believed it had potential to sound even greater as a rapper. she simply just agreed and went with it, though she didn't realize then how great that decision was. she grew to like rapping more than singing, and trained hard to improve.

the two met through jay. nova deeply admired him as a senior and liked his rapping style. when composing songs, she usually turns to his direction for guidance and help. at some point, nova recalls developing a small crush on him (based on her admiration) but chose not to act upon it cus she only saw him as a sunbae. for actual relationship, gray comes close to being nova's best friend. he helped her with her relationship with jay, her rapping, her music, and was just a nice guy. fans know of their deep friendship and considers it cute and pure.
like gray, she met him though jay. they became close quickly due to their interest in rapping and similar music taste. if nova ever needs girl guidance outside of the group, hoody is where she goes! they've collaborated once on a song and fans find their friendship adorable. their usual meet ups include the aomg studio, whipstaff studio, or just eating together or watching a movie.
giriboy's a recent friend she met in 2016. they got along through collabing for a mixtape and became friends. nova particularly likes his vulgar language and finds it kind of cute (in a weird way) when he curses. other than that, they interact like normal friends through texting or meeting up when a big group of friends meet up. nova usually asks him to listen to her songs to get an expert opinion.
she met beenzino around the same time she met giriboy. she doesn't recall how, but she's pretty sure gray had something to do with it. they only ever meet up when the 'the cool bros' (really, jay made up that name...) meet up since they're besties just yet. they do acknowledge each other as friends, though!
initially, garam approached nova first. she saw her as a potential friend despite nova's unfriendly face. while it did take some time for nova to open up to her, they got closer one day after a really harsh evalutation, where they accidentally met at the han river. there, they promised to debut together. they were some of the very few trainees that were left in bighit after glam's scandal, and often found comfort in each other. garam sees her as an older sister figure that she looks up to in terms of producing music, whilst nova sees her as an adorable donsaeng. garam was her first friend at bighit, so they stuck together the longest. no matter where they moved dorms, nova always picked garam as her roommate (claiming that she won't have it any other way). a tradition they kept since trainee years was walking around han river together to clear their thoughts and gather inspiration. + nova mentioned once in an interview, nova said, "i dont think i would have made it this far if it weren’t for garam’s encouraging words during my hardest times as a trainee.”
they share a mutual dislike of each other, and they know it. jimin isn't afraid of expressing how she doesn't like nova's ways of coping with having no lines, her greed for attaining more lines, and others. nova, on the other hand, is intimidated by jimin (despite being the older of the two). and while they try to keep professional in front of cameras, quick witted fans start noticing the tension between the two turning their dislike into potential drama within the group.
nova didn't really show much reaction when siwon first appeared in bighit. she does recall thinking, 'damn, she's good'. initially, she couldn't believe she was older than simon, considering the fact that she acts just as mature, or even more mature than nova does. later on, nova finds that siwon has certain charms and adorable quirks that she couldn't deny. though she wasn't as close to her as she was to garam, nova still considered siwon a little donsaeng figure that she'd be willing to help in a hearbeat. they get along well, since they're one of the tamer ones in their group.

JAY PARK! they initially met when bang pdnim wanted her to collab with him for a new mixtape. they met up and got along quite well and produced a pretty good song... (maybe 'solo' by jay and hoody??)
they started dating in january, but in secret. the only other people that ever knew of it were gray and garam, but other than that, the two remained on the low.
eventually, the inevitable came and nova grew busy. their relationship didn't quite feel like a relationship anymore, and they only ever talked every other week. they thought it was best to break it off, but they still remain close friends up to now!
HONG JONGHYUN! jong hyun became the first boyfriend that was released to the public...on accident. they initially met through 'mutual friends' aka baekhyun, who filmed a drama with him earlier on.
baek introduced the two of them and somehow, they were attracted to each other. it started with jonghyun getting her phone number, to them texting on a consecutive basis, and then eventually dating.
they were caught on a date during february 14 (on valentine's day) and decided to just come clean (after hours of begging to their agencies).
but, despite their strong feelings, they broke up just like most celebrity couples do, because of pressure from the netizens. jonghyun once claimed that "it felt like there were too many eyes on our relationship, so the pressure eventually made us crumble." p.s: when thinking of their relationship, the song 'love scenario' by ikon comes to mind. they had a bitter sweet ending.
