35 Questions for Writers

I'm pretty sure I did this already, but if I have then it has been a while so I'll just do it again. This is especially sentimental because my three year anniversary on AFF is coming up in a few days. I'm highly considering spamming a ton of blog posts that day about my love for my biases (particularly Kwon Soonyoung and Seventeen) so be warned. The 28th.

I was inspired to do it from here.

1. How did you come up with your user name and what does it mean?
It was actually inspired by Taeyang's 'Eyes, Nose, Lips' plus the fact that I'm a hopeless romantic (for everyone but myself)

2. Which is your most subscribed to story?
Fifty Shades of Jimin, of course.

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?
Ten is my second love, after Hoshi. I want a Hoshi one, tbh, but my friend made it for me (bruh, when you see this, if you get bored... *cough* feel free to get artistic *cough*)

4. Who is your AFF bestie?
still yongharu21 lmao

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?
I've gotten so out of touch with reading recently that I can't even remember... I suppose I can say my current favorite is Flex by yongharu21, and I'm not just saying that because she's my friend. It's a really amazing story and she's put so much thought and work into it (and I've read ahead guys, like I know what goes down and have gotten the chance to see it unfold so like...) if you love Seventeen give it a read. It's comedy, fantasy, romance but also a little bit of action too. It's just all around a really amazing story.

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?
Like I said, I've gotten out of touch with reading, so it's very limited. It's only 116 stories, and considering I've been on AFF for 3 years and don't unsubscribe from a story unless I really don't like it when I start reading it, even when I finish, that's not a lot at all...

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?
This is perhaps the thing that has changed the most since I began writing on AFF. All of my stories used to be sliceoflife or school aus, or even just like "normal" people aus. It was all "realistic" to some extent, and while I still write stories like that, I've always wanted to write fantasy and I've started doing that in 2017 and just love it so much that there will be plenty more of it to come.

8. How many friends do you have?
I'm not a very social person, and all of these people (or at least 99%) are people who have sent me requests (and I literally accept just about everyone most of the time) so it's not a lot either lol. It's only 368. But, like I said, I accept almost all requests, so if anyone does want to hmu, feel free lol.

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)
There's actually a story I've been thinking about a lot recently, and I'm not necessarily scared because I'm afraid people will judge. It's more like... it's a very personal story, in which the character I'm writing represents me and a lot of the things I've gone through, and I just... want to write it, but also don't want to relive it? It's complicated.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on aff? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?
Updating regularly for sure. One of the only things I miss from being in High School is having the time to write and update regularly (mostly because I wrote in class instead of doing the work, lmao).

11. How many subscribers do you have?
Total: 16168
Unique: 9787

I've taken stories down in recent months because I'm just... I'm complex lmao.

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?
Not including drafted stories, collaborations, or collections then only 12 (11 on this account and a shared one on my second account for NCT).

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?
lmao, I have no idea. I literally have a doc with all of my random ideas I get and just... so many things. It's best not to ask. But it's over 50, I can say that much (not including stories posted on here or talked about).

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?
Technically answered this above, but I write pretty much everything down, whether it be in my phone notes or google drive or a piece of paper. If it's a plausible idea, then it's written down so I can expand upon it later.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?
I have and still am. Most of them are secret projects, but they're all with yongharu21 (although a couple are also with amatsumal as well).

16. How did you discover AFF?
I think I just stumbled across fanfiction of some sort via tumblr or google.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?
I consider FSOJ to be semi-popular amongst Jimin stans on here, but I don't consider myself to be popular, no. Especially not recently, since I been "known" as a "BTS author" up until this past year and have start branching into other groups, and the fanbase has changed a bit, so I have no idea about any of it anymore either, lol. But, I don't really think it matters if you're "popular" or not. Even if you have 10 people subscribed to your story, you're writing for yourself not them (even though feedback is always nice).

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?
Chiminions was the running fandom name for a while until another author on here decided to start using it in her fics, so I sort of stopped using it all the time. Every once in a while I'll drop it, but for the most part I just call everyone "you guys" lol.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?
Nope, I kind of just jumped the gun and went for it.

20. How many karma points do you have?
too many than what is needed, tbh. AFF should create like an online "shop" of some sort where we can actually use our Karma points to trade it. Maybe like for "profile themes" (not layouts but actual themes that change the websites look itself) or cheap gifts or something. I get it can be used for ads and stuff, but I feel like we should be able to use it for more. It would make sense.

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?
Just go for it. I see a lot of people here on AFF say things like "ah, I have ideas but I don't post them" and when I ask why they just say they're too scared to do it, or because they don't think it's very good.
Don't feel that way though. If it was good enough for you to want to write it, then it's good enough for someone else to want to read it, even if it's only one other person. And there's nothing to be worried about when posting. You just gotta put yourself out there, and the worst that can happen is you lose inspiration and quit. Don't let that hold you back from sharing a great story.

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?
I'm a planner, though I do have some things I go with the flow for. So I guest I'm a plantser with more planner tendencies.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?
I can't say that I have? Reviews, when done correctly, are never bad lol. I've gotten constructive comments on some stories, but never anything bad. It's more like "ah you have a lot of typos" and stuff like that, lol.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)
Action scenes, though I do believe I am improving!

25. What story(s) are you working on now?
Too many, lmao. But as far as focusing on, it's The 7th Sense and The Devil's Sons.

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?
Ideas are a constant, so to some extent they're always planned before finishing other ones. Are they always outlined? No, but sometimes I do feel the need to go through some if I feel inspired enough.

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?
AHAHA. That would be nice.

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?
Oh , absolutely. I cringe. I cringe. I can't even stand stuff that I wrote just a few months ago compared to what I've written recently.

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?
I really loved when I wrote LMKWYHB. It was my first fic and was also so fresh and new and rewarding. But, I think as far as plot and characters, my favorite is currently The Devil's Sons.

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?
I try not to post stories that I don't like. If I don't like the story, I don't take the time to write it.
However, I guess I'd say You're In Danger, since it's my second story ever, my first , and one of the cringiest writings I've completed to this day.

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?
I want to self-publish a book eventually... But idk when that'll happen. If ever.

32. How many upvotes do you have?
Why does this matter, lol?
But, 615.

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?
Dialogue/Banter. I have a hard time connecting so it flows, but I do enjoy making my characters say witty things.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?
Writing.

And, I mean that 100% literally. If you write, you get what I mean.

35. Why do you write?
I write because writing can be everything and nothing at the same time. You can take yourself out of your current world and put yourself into a new world with writing, or you can make your world better, or relive things, or just get your feelings and emotions out while simultaneously being numb to them, because it's as an outsider looking in just as much as it's a insider living through it.
