PERSONALITY:

One can easily say that Yitian is the complete opposite to his older brother, Yifeng, but people always keep a distance from him at first in fear. Though once you get to know him, you’ll see that Yitian resembles that of a child. He is usually bubbly, energetic, and high-spirited. You'd always find him smiling and cheerful. You'd rarely ever find him sad. Always optimistic, Yitian would rather think of all the positive things and would try avoiding the bad things as much as he can. Also, being carefree, you can say Yitian is pretty much a cheerful and happy-go-lucky person. He really likes to move around, have fun, and go wild. Even the simplest things such as making a sandwich can really easily impress the boy, thus making him known for his very pure heart and child-like innocence.

Yitian is naturally very kind and understanding, seeming to have all the right words for his friends. He has all the right words when they're sad, or upset and is always willing to hug and cuddle them. It's extremely hard for him to hate someone. Also, with Yitian’s thoughtful and caring attitude, he always makes sure that what he says or does doesn’t hurt anyone. He is the type to think of other people when he does things, which is easy for him to do since he likes to pay attention to what people like or dislike.

Everyone has their flaws. In Yitian’s case, his innocence would make him really gullible and foolish. He easily falls for tricks and pranks. Doesn't result to violence no matter what (except if he REALLY had to) and that also makes him an easy target for bullying. Also because of Yitian’s really social personality, he talks a lot, like a lot. He can even have a conversation with himself and he wouldn't mind. That bothers people sometimes, though when he realizes that, Yitian would immediately stop and apologise.

Yitian tends to overwork himself, especially when training. He thinks that because his powers are useless in combat fights, he’d have to train twice as hard to improve his skills in other aspects. So he gave up pretty much in physical training, cause no lie, this boy is physically weak, and he began to learn different strategies that could be helpful and useful. Yitian also sometimes completely forgets to take care of himself, accidentally missing whole meals because he accidentally gave all his food away to his friends who wanted more. Or losing sleep taking care of someone that is feeling under the weather or sustaining an injury. He gets lots of scolding from both Yifeng and Wenji for it later on.

He tends to get a bit crazy when it comes to safety, always prepared to take away people’s pain, and it gets to a point his friends would call him too dramatic but he says it could happen at anytime though. Finally, Yitian has trust issues. Yes he’s very social, but he's not that open about himself that almost everyone would only realize they don't know much about him if someone brings it up. It takes time for him to really open up to others and be able to freely talk about his past and deep feelings. He just doesn't want his close friends and especially himself to get hurt or betrayed.

BACKGROUND: 

Birth

Yitian was born into a wealthy family with an older brother who loved him so much. His parents were both CEO’s to a large successful mega corporation, Dynasty Group.

3y.

Yitian doesn’t remember anything from that age. Everything was hazy. All he knows is that that’s when his mother died from bone marrow cancer and their father took a down turn.

4y.

He started going to school along with his brother, their chauffeur took them everyday. Yitian would spend his days playing with the maids when Yifeng was busy with his school work. And their father still locked himself in his room and stopped going to work.

5y.

His father started drinking every night and left his room. He fired all the workers in the mansion saying he doesn’t need them anymore. Yitian was sad to see the maids he frequently played with leave. But then that’s when the horror began.

His dad was always drunk and would start yelling out of anger and then he resulted to breaking stuff in the house. As if that wasn’t enough, he then went to beating up Yifeng and loudly cursing at him. That was the start of spending many scary nights witnessing his older brother being beaten up and screaming in agony, pleading for their father to stop. He couldn’t sleep most nights in his room alone, so he’d quickly rush to Yifeng’s room in fear of bumping into his father in the middle of the night, and quietly crawl into his brother’s bed and cry himself to sleep. Yifeng never said anything and just cuddled the younger.

6y.

Yitian was surprised he stayed that long without being the target of his abusive father. But that didn’t last long.

His turn came when one day, when school finished early, he entered the mansion to only be immediately pushed to the floor and yelled at. Yitian froze and just stayed still, listening to his dad’s slurred cursing with closed eyes, scared to look at the man he calls “father”. When suddenly, he felt a burning pain on his left shoulder. He opened his eyes to see shattered glass on the floor and his left shoulder bleeding from a deep cut. Yitian guessed that he must’ve thrown a glass cup at him. Then for the first time, his father started to beat him, but it wasn’t that painful and Yitian was for once thankful that the man was too wasted. After a couple of minutes, Yifeng appeared out of the blue and immediately blocked him from their father’s attack and held him closely. His back was facing their dad so that became his next target and he started yelling about how worthless they both are. Out of fear, Yitian started to tear up and held his brother’s arms. A minute later, he felt a moving sensation in his arms so when he looked at them he saw his veins visible and they were dark and moving. Looking up he saw Yifeng’s face relaxed unlike how pained he always did when he got beat. Then a sound at the corner of the room caught his attention, he saw their cat strangely curling in pain. Yitian was really confused.

The next day, Yifeng and Yitian decided to take their cat to the vet. As it was their turn, Yifeng told him to stay seated in his place until he comes back. And so he did, until a voice caught his attention. Loud whimpering’s came from the room he was sitting close by and so the curious boy decided to check it out. Once he entered the room, he saw a dog laying on a hospital bed, shaking. He couldn’t help but think of yesterday and so he thought of trying out something. As he touched the suffering dog and saw his veins show up and move just like they did last night, a pang of pain hit him and so tears spilled from his eyes but he didn’t lose contact until he felt the dog rest at ease.

‘Did I just absorb this dog’s pain? Isn’t that what they call powers? I’m… I’m a monster?’ His thoughts scared him.

7y.

One rainy night, Yitian entered Yifeng’s room to find the older all sweaty on the bed.

He had decided to tell his brother about his powers, but hesitated upon seeing the older in bed sick.

‘It’s now or never, Yitian.’ He thought to himself.

“Ge, what I’m about to tell u goes against everything dad ever told us.”

“To hell with him.” The other tiredly replied. “Now spill.”

“I am a…” He took a deep breath. “I’m a monster.”

Yifeng stays quiet with his eyes closed and his bangs sticking on his forehead. The sight of the older sick and in pain in front of him pulled a tug on his stomach, so he grasped Yifeng’s hand and held it tightly. His dark veins became visible and started moving as he started taking away the others’ pain. The younger dropped his head and clenched his teeth as to not show his brother his pain and not worry him.

When he was done, he looked up to see Yifeng staring at him and the depth in his eyes was something he didn’t understand. It scared him. A lot.

‘What if he calls me a monster, too? Will he hate me now? Omg, will he leave me? Or worse, will he tell dad?’ He didn’t wanna lose his Yifeng’s affection and trust. His older brother is the only thing he cares so much about and the only good thing in his horrible life. He doesn’t know what he’ll do to himself if he was ever to lose him.

Then Yifeng holds his hand, and says. “I actually had my suspicion, but I never said anything cause I thought maybe you weren’t ready to talk about it yet.” Yitian looks surprised at the revelation.

Then he continues, “You’re not a monster, baby bro. I know you and you’re not like that. I’ll beat whoever’s that says otherwise.”

After hearing those words from Yifeng, he lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He was so relieved and it feels like a burden off his chest.

Yifeng exhales deeply and closes his eyes. “I’m exhausted. Is that a side effect of your macho power?” he joked.

Yitian laughed, then he smiles affectionately at his brother. “Well, I’ll leave now so you could rest. Sleep tight, ge.”

When he turned and walked to the door to leave, Yifeng called him out. “Oh, and Yitian,”

“Hmm?” he turns around.

“You can choose to be a “monster” at will. It’s all just about the path you choose.” And that sentence changed Yitian’s prospective of his power and little did Yifeng know, meant a lot to the younger.

8y.

One day, after being released from school a bit earlier than the usual, Yitian slowly tip toed on the stairs to go to his room but was stopped mid-way by an all familiar voice.

“So you’re here.” His father said as he creeped up to him.

His smell reeked of alcohol and Yitian couldn’t help the grimace on his face.

“What’s with that face? You think because your brother has been protecting you, you could do what you want?! Well he isn’t here now!” And then the man pulled the younger by his shirt causing him to fall off the couple of steps of stairs he took and started to beat him up.

Yitian’s heart was beating as the feeling of pain filled his body but all he could do was cradle himself and whimper. He thought of Yifeng and how he went through this most nights and all he could feel is apologetic. His brother took so many blows from their father and protected Yitian. The younger couldn’t help but feel like all he’s ever been is a burden to the older. So he thought that from that day onwards, he’ll no longer let his brother take any more blows in his stead and that he’ll give Yifeng as much as he’s taken.

Then his thoughts were cut off by a yell. “Stop it! You’re hurting him!”

He looked up to see Yifeng standing not so far away from them, maliciously glaring at their father.

“You ungrateful brat. How dare you raise your voice on me! You’re seriously asking for a beating.” The man then let go of Yitian and started to approach his older son.

Yitian was in so much pain that he couldn’t move so he just yelled, “YIFENG!”

Then he heard the other mutter a word so low he almost missed it, “Pain.”

Right there at that moment their father toppled to the floor seemingly… in pain. He kept holding his head and thrashing on his hair, letting out an ear bursting scream, until minutes later… he stopped. He was just laying on the floor still.

All Yitian could do at that moment was stare at the body. He was a kid but he wasn’t stupid. He knew that their father is dead… that Yifeng… killed him. But he kept telling himself that there’s no way that Yifeng would do this on purpose, that it was out of self-protection. No lie, he was slightly glad that his brother had powers just like he does. It made him no longer feel so left out and different.

Then long story short, Yifeng tended Yitian’s bruises told him to stay in his room and called the cops. He sat in his room as police officers filled the mansion and one even entered his room and saw him covered in bandages. The officer asked him what happened and so he quickly lied that he got into a fight at school. Thankfully he didn’t ask further. Then the police told the two brothers that a family member of theirs is going to stay with them which was a shock to them cause Yifeng told him that they didn’t have any relatives. Their aunt came the next day, she immediately knew that her nephews had powers just like she does, which their father apparently didn’t like so he cut all ties with her. Anyway, she offered to help them get to the sanctuary in China, and they took it cause well, neither of the boys wanted to stay at the mansion anymore.

9-19y.

Yifeng and Yitian spent peaceful years in the sanctuary. Yitian loved staying in an environment where he didn’t feel left out because of his power. Made many friends and some close friends (Jisoo, Wenji, and Jinyoung) and crossed paths with some bullies too. Yitian found it funny how they ignored him when he was with or close by Yifeng but when he’s alone they immediately target him. Despite that, he always ignored them or had Wenji to protect him when she’s around. He still loved the sanctuary nonetheless and considered it home for he lived 10 years in it.

When news got out of the New Zealand sanctuary evacuating their students and staff, their own sanctuary began their own evacuation, and so Yitian went to move to Shanghai with Yifeng in the apartment he bought with their inheritance money. There, Yitian kind of became depressed for leaving his "home" and friends. So when Yifeng heard about the recently built sanctuary at Incheon, he decided to go there in hopes of making Yitian happy again. Upon arriving there, Yitian was really glad to see Jisoo, Wenji, and Jinyoung there too. And there they had a new addition to their group, Minjae.

TRIVIA:

✩ His ability to transfer pain only works with physical contact, so he'd have to touch a person in order to transfer their pain.
✩ Yitian only knows how to transfer others' pain to himself or others. He has yet to learn how to transfer his own pain.
✩ "You can choose to be a "monster" at will. It's all just about the path you choose." This sentence that Yifeng told him when he told the older about his power struck him hard, cause after that, Yitian decided to only use his power for good deeds and benefits.
✩ He really dislikes those type of people whom would judge or insult those they see as lower or weaker than them.
✩ Although he’s physically weak, Yitian has a really high pain tolerance, thus making it useful when he has to transfer others’ pain to himself. If the pain is so severe, he'd tear up but won't stop.
✩ Not gonna deny, everytime other’s talk happily about their parents, Yitian would feel envious, but would hide it and just plaster a smile.
✩ He hates it when Yifeng would carelessly use his power on others but stays quiet. Though the discontent is evident on his face.
✩ He's friends with many students, but Yitian grew especially close to the 99' liners (Jisoo, Minjae, and Jinyoung) and his Wenji noona. They're the only ones he feels comfortable enough opening up to.
✩ Yitian caught up on the love triangle in their friend circle (Jisoo, Jinyoung, & Minjae), and he finds it cute but at the same time hilarious.
✩ He doesn't support violence.us.
✩ Just the smell of alcohol makes him discontent for it brings back memories he never wants to go back to.

RELATIONSHIPS: 

✩ Father - Wu Jiaheng (killed at age 44) / CEO / hot-headed, irrational / 0/10
He could go to hell for all Yitian cares. Just the mention of him makes Yitian go static, quiet and serious. 

✩ Mother - Li Zetian (died at age 37) / CEO / sweet, hard-worker / 0/10
Since she died when Yitian was only 3y. he has no memories of her, though he heard from Yifeng all about how she was different from their father; sweet, loving, and caring. He wishes she could've lived longer so he would've had some memories of her.

✩ Aunt - Wu Shishi (?) / ? / ? / 0/10
Yitian didn't even know they had an aunt until the day she appeared on their door step saying she'd help them both. "I'd scold you, but I never liked this bastard anyways. He deserve it." Is what she said when the brothers explained how their father really died. Yitian was displeased with what she said. Yes, their father was a really bad man, but no one deserves death. Anyway, he's thankful for her help. 

✩ Older Brother - Wu Yifeng (28y.) / Student / cold, quiet, complicated / 10/10
After the incident with their father, Yifeng hasn't been the same and Yitian knows it. He used to be sweet and friendly. He used to smile and make jokes. But then he became quiet, mean, and cruel. Despite that, Yitian still loves him and knows that deep down inside, Yifeng is still the same boy he used to be but he's just going through a tough time (he knows about the inner-demons Yifeng is constantly fighting against in his head) and so Yitian decided to stay by his side unconditionally. They have their ups and down and even though Yifeng can be a bit too much sometimes, Yitian wouldn't trade him for the world.

✩ Close Friend - Son Wenji (21y.) / Student / cool, loyal, protective / 8/10
The first friend he made when he entered the sanctuary in China, and she intoduced him to Jisoo and Jinyoung. Yitian quickly became close and opened up to the older for she's very cool and protective of him. Also, surprisingly the only friend of his that Yifeng kind of approves of and doesn't glare at. She's the one out of their friends that stands up for the younger the most and tell his bullies to stop judging him and screw off. And when anything suspicious happens between the three lovers in their group, Yitian and Wenji would always share knowing looks and try to contain their laughter. He often calls her "Ji noona" or sometimes teasingly "our hero" when she protects him and Jinyoung from bullies.

✩ Close Friend - Lee Jisoo (19y.) / Student / kind, energetic, loud / 8/10
Met her through Wenji and thankfully didn't zap him when they exchanged handshakes. Hmm, or maybe she accidently lightly did and Yitian just unconciously transfered his pain to someone or something else. Well that's a mystery we'll never get to know. Anyway, just as Wenji, these two quickly hit it off. She's very trustworthy, good at keeping secrets, and is a great listener. So Yitian often talks to her when something bothers him.

✩ Close Friend - Park Jinyoung (19y.) / Student / trustworthy, honest, quiet / 8/10
Also met him through Wenji. At first, Yitian was really curious as to why the boy didn't talk at all, so he asked Wenji and she told him everything. Yitian was really understanding about it. These two also shared the same bullies and so when they'd insult Jinyoung, he'd stand up for the other while trying to avoid violence, but luck isn't on his side for it takes the wrong turn. Though thankfully, Wenji is always there to save their asses.

✩ Close Friend - Kang Minjae (19y.) / Student / clever, social, blunt / 7/10
With these two being social birds, it wasn't hard for them to get along when Jisoo introduced them to each other at Incheon. At first, Yitian only considered him as a friend but after spending more time with Minjae, since they shared similar friends, they became close. This boy is Yitian's self-employed English teacher.
