Playing SuperStar BTS for the First Time (ft. Me Being Blunt)

I was on my laptop when Bangtan tweeted and told us that SuperStar BTS (short SBTS) is now available for public, and I just freaked out and yelled on Twitter that I'm going to clear out my phone storage and download that game. So at night after I got my phone back, I searched up the game and downloaded it. (I didn't know it's unavailable for some countries, now that I think back I'm lucky I live in Malaysia.)

When the game loaded up I was just sort of staring at my screen and bracing myself for the glory that would follow afterwards, took a screenshoot of the booting page, then I chose the language (only Korean and English are available now). It required me to agree to the term and conditions (I read for a short time before I gave up and just ticked because why is that so long, I know as a consumer I should always read the terms and conditions but still), choose a theme (I choose Jin), and a nickname (I went with my real name but someone took it already so I just put an understroke at the back and it got through). Before I entered the main page I chose to sync first and then it started! I got a set of Her themed new cards, I think everyone got it too.

I'm not really sure with how the cards work, I'm not really keen on this type of rhythm games, the most I've played is Piano Tiles 2, but when there's a theme bonus (aka all cards are eqipped), I got 50000 points in advance and I started with a rave bonus of x4. I played DNA first in easy mode (because I think I'll ), and soon I'm bopping to it while my fingers chased the beat (it's quite easy at first??). By then I've decided that I absolutely love this game.

Then I played the songs from the YWNA album, and I really like playing You Never Walk Alone! It's just enjoyable, and then I moved on to Young Forever too, and played as much as I can (and I scored three stars on all of them except Young Forever because I missed one beat). Then I felt that maybe I could manage normal mode if I nailed the easy mode, so I switched to normal mode, and chose a relatively slower song because I'm still scared.

I chose Spring Day, and at the first in the intro is quite okay, but after Namjoon started rapping I was like "oh no". The beats just came in a clustle and my slow dumb can't really differenciate which beat came first, so I was just tapping wildly on my screen, missing a lot of beat, but still managed to finish the level, exhausted. I surprisingly got two stars on that. Then I got tired so I exited and went to other places to explore.

I first went into my Room and was imediately attacked by a Jin cracking lame jokes at me, seriously the Jin bot might be even cheesier than actual Worldwide Handsome Kim Seokjin himself, I really rolled my eyes at the joke (something about a ruler). I took a screenshoot of the words and exited the room, then I went about collecting awards and explore around, but at the end I'm still generally unclear about how the cards work, and that I have a bigger chance of getting a new card if I play in normal mode or when I play a new song. The headphones concept also annoyed me a bit, I have to wait 10 minutes for each headphone to reload. We start at 25 headphones, and normal gamers should finish it in a flash (unlike me who took time to wait for the headphones to actually reload to a number divisible by 5, I'm just weird that way). Easy mode only uses up 1 headphone, while normal mode uses up 2 headphones, and I assume hard mode will use up 3 headphones (for now I won't even try to deal with hard mode).

As of now I'm totally hooked on this game and will continue to play it everyday, last night I just unlocked Cypher Pt. 3 and was super hyped while playing it, but yeah I failed DNA and Fire at normal mode, they said I need more practice but damn how you gonna practice while wasting headphones?? I guess playing this game requires a little bit of talent too, I seriously at it (how I'm good at Piano Tiles 2, I have no idea). The graphics and sounds are really good too, and the loading sign is actually an ARMY Bomb (which is super cute), some background pictures of the main page are Bangtan surrounded by an ARMY Bomb ocean (including the purple ocean, which made me hella emotional).

Well I think that's about it! If I were to rate the game I will give an 8/10 because that game actually CRASHES, like I can't load the game, yesterday I barely survived Dead Leaves on normal mode yet the results page just won't load, and it kept asking me to retry, but then it crashes again, and when I finally gave up and pressed cancel, the whole game restarts from the credits page, and it's getting pretty late so I just exited the game so I don't know whether I got those 2 earphones back or not. If it doesn't crash I'll actual give it an 11/10 I don't set the rules lmao

Now that I think back, the headphones concept actually did stop me from getting obsessed with the game and now I set a time everyday where I just put everything down and play the game, one to practice, another one to collect the daily rewards. Because I know this game takes up time so I have to manage my time better so that I can play everyday, so as always Bangtan is always doing me good! For now I still but I hope it'll get better, maybe I'll find my talent in rhythm games? Hehe

Lastly, you can go stalk me on Twitter lol my name is @ xuanisafangirl and my displayed username now is "MALAYSIAN WANNABLES ARE SORRY" bcs of what happened yesterday. Also I might be changing my layout to Daehwi later for his birthday because it's in a week!

And one last request, if you know me in real life PLEASE DON'T EVEN UTTER A SINGLE WORD I have a reputation to take care of lol

It takes time to adjust to the modes of playing - I remember when I started playing years ago and normal mode usually killed me x.x

What I hate is that the same company is making these games and they're making it separate. What if I wanted to play SSM, SJYP and SETS?? My phone cam only handle so much T.T I wish the ent companies could come to an agreement and make one app we could all play as multi fandoms, and then they could incorporate voting even, and maybe some social concept.

But the game is really fun ^^ and collecting cards is hard but probably the biggest reason why the game is so addictive. Here's a tip: try to keep your scores as low as possible in the start, except for the songs that you use to make your weekly scores. Then when you get a challenge, you don't have to spend points upgrading cards just to clear the challenge.

Anyhow, have fun!!
