mawkish, insecure, private, selfless / and tHE BEAsT

• yoojung is better known for her friendly personality. she is almost always smiling and is usually seen with lots of people around her, some of which are friends and some that aren't. yoojung is very much a social butterfly, known for being well-liked among others. she doesn't have any issues talking to others and tends to enjoy having conversations. yoojung is also quite the generous gal. she is always helping other trainees out with things, even if they don't ask her to. she is a bit motherly in the sense as she can tell when someone needs help and just goes to them no words asked. she is always helping out someone, like if someone needs an extra dollar for lunch, yoojung has you covered! yoojung's a loyal person; she is someone who stays true to her friends. she is always quick to believe her friends over anything else, knowing that she can trust them as well. yoojung is sort of like a "ride and die" type of girl, who is almost always siding with her friends if they need her to. she isn't one to backstab and is someone you can trust your life and secrets with. most of all, yoojung is a responsible person. she takes everything in her life very seriously, making sure to handle anything that's thrown at her in life with care. give her any task to handle, yoojung is very good with responsibility. she's not the type to slack off or just simple not doing something that is expected of her. yoojung works very hard and is passionate about keeping up good expectations for herself. 

• just as amazing as she may seem, yoojung has a lot of things wrong with her. first of all, yoojung is very mawkish, also known as overly sentimental. she is always sugarcoating things and give disingenuous compliments others, rather than giving them the honest and often hurtful truth. sometimes her sweet, goody-two-shoes ways annoys others, resulting in her often being ignored by some trainees who just can't stand her mawkish attitude. yoojung is also very insecure, something that isn't known by most. she is constantly finding flaws in her face, despite how often she's told that she is indeed beautiful. yoojung never thinks she is good enough for anyone or anything, constantly berating herself in her head. she is very hard on herself and is her number one enemy by far. yoojung is a private person, something that is seen a lot yet ignored by most. she doesn't like telling people how she really feels or the little details of her life, resorting in her bottling it all up until she can't take it anymore, which results in her having a break down. she has a hard opening up about the deep, emotional feelings she harbors that go hand in hand with her insecurities and worries in life. often times, yoojung feels like she can't tell anyone these feelings as she feels no one would truly understand the depth of the negativity she is battling with almost everyday. stemming from her responsible and generous nature, yoojung is very selfless. while this trait is often considered as a positive attribute, that's just simply not the case here. in yoojung's situation, she doesn't care for herself enough. she's too worried about other people and their problems, rather than dealing with her own, personal problems.

 

• ahn yoojung, eldest daughter of ahn inseok and sooyoung, was born in seoul, south korea on january 6th, 1994. growing up as the eldest sister of three other daughters was quite hectic for yoojung, however, she loved every minute of it. yoojung had always consisted herself like another mother to her younger sisters; taking care of them, whether it was feeding them or helping them with homework. of course yoojung's mom always took care of the kids, she just depended on yoojung to help her whenever her dad was busy with work. while her siblings all had their own specific hobbies; painting, piano, and tennis, yoojung simply didn't have any. she mostly spent her time in school doing two things: hanging out with friends and studying. yoojung wasn't really the type to slack off when it came to school work, always making sure to get it done before doing anything else. of course, she did experience her share of bullying at times during high school. it mostly occured because girls were jealous of yoojung and how well-liked she was by the male students. yoojung tried to not let these girls affect her, but it's always been something she struggles with even today. by the time most of the female student body practically hated her, mostly because one of the most popular guys at school asked her out, yoojung was scouted by a fnc entertainment talent scout. she was only 17 at the time, but was incredibly excited yet confused by this. yoojung ended up attending a private audition where she sang, danced, rap, modeled, and recited lines from a script. all of it was to see where fnc would want to put her if she ended up going through. yoojung really wasn't talented in any of that stuff, but she was excited to finally have something that would be a potential career path for her. in the end, yoojung was accepted and signed a four year trainee contract to be an idol trainee. after about four years of hard work, yoojung immensely improved her vocals and dancing a lot. she signed again with the agency for another four years, hoping to have her chance at debut.

though yoojung has many friends and aquaintances, she only really considers seolhyun to be her one true best friend. the two especially became close after they did some photoshoots together, despite the fact that yoojung was still a trainee. although seolhyun was her senior in the industry, yoojung always felt comfortable around seolhyun. the two often hang out whenever they can, always looking forward to getting coffee or catching a movie every once in a while. overall, seolhyun is a major supporter of yoojung, always fighting for yoojung to get her chance at debut.

• when yoojung first began training at fnc, she faced a lot of negativity from the other female trainees. they all believed she had been accepted to fnc only because of her good looks. a lot of the girls didn't want to work with yoojung, treating her as if she didn't exist. it really hurt yoojung emotionally, but she had to keep a strong face and instead put all of her focus into proving them wrong. every single day, yoojung worked her off. she danced until she dropped. sang until she couldn't anymore. time and time again, yoojung would wear herself out but wouldn't stop going. this helped yoojung gain the respect of the other female trainees, who eventually apologize for their harsh critiques. as time went on, yoojung only continued to improve. she developed her vocal cords, resulting in her becoming a better singer. she worked hard at learning choreographing, resulting in her becoming a better dancer. she only came this far because of her hard efforts. during her time as a trainee, yoojung did some modeling gigs for fnc. she usually got to work with some aoa members for these photoshoots. as of 2018, yoojung has only appeared in one kdrama: who are you: school 2015. she played the character, jo haena, and only appeared in a couple of episodes. it was definitely an interesting experience for yoojung and it's motivated her to want to branch out into acting one day in the future.
