at first sight, donghyun is a mature young man. he is determined to do whatever he can to keep people from falling out into silly arguments and nonsense. he's happy to listen to new and challenging ideas and view points without accepting or rejecting them blindly. donghyun is definitely quick notice things when they happen. it's like he has eyes in the back of his head, being able to know someone behind him even when they are trying to sneak up on him. whenever donghyun's given a specific task, he becomes dedicated to the project. whether it's coming up with new choreography or simply doing the dishes, nothing will stop him until he gets done with the job.

donghyun is a very quiet person, hardly ever making noise or announcing his presence every time he walks into a room. he prefers to keep to himself and let people naturally find and seek him out rather than make himself known. underneath his tough exterior, he's actually a soft guy, mellowed out by his early maturity. he lets things go with the flow (unless something disrupts the flow, then he'll go and fix the problem) and hardly lets things anger him.

despite his maturity, donghyun is very clumsy and forgetful. do not leave anything precious or breakable in his hands as they will break one way or another. he has gotten better keeping his butter fingers from ruining things, but he tends to forget his own clumsiness whenever he sees something pretty. because of his forgetfulness, he does tend to be a rather awkard person. especially when he forgets about certain things he was told about and when you go to talk to him about it, he'll stand there with a blank face until you give him all the information. he doesn't know where his forgetfulness comes from as he is only twenty-three.

BACKGROUND. donghyun's life started in busan, south korea with two freelancing artists. they didn't have much money growing up due to their jobs, but they are fun loving people who made sure to keep donghyun's life happy and free of problems.

it wasn't until he was five when he parents got a special job all the way in tokyo, japan. the boy was afraid at the time, having to learn a new language all together and leaving his friends at school behind, but as a young child, his worries quickly went away at the prospect of going to a new country!

while it was hard learning a new language, he was young and it was still easier for donghyun to learn japanese. he caught onto the language very quickly and soon was the talk of his new school. but the buzz soon died down do to his quiet nature. he did make a lot of new friends though and did well in school (about average).

those friends soon got him into dancing. it was cool, it was hip, they would get ladies by doing so. though donghyun didn't join for that cause. he thought it would be fun. learning how to dance was easier than learning japanese as he seemed to have a natural talent in dancing. most of his friends yearned for his skills in dancing, quickly making donghyun their leader of the dance crew.

their dance crew began in high school, posting their own choreography on youtube. they started out with a small fanbase, mostly girls from their school. then donghyun had the cool idea to do cover dances too. they started with jpop, adding their own twists to the original dances. ranking a few more fans, one fan in particular suggested doing kpop as well. soon enough, they dance crew's youtube channel had an influx of subscribers and they were getting offers out the wazoo!

it was actually one of his friends that suggested donghyun to try out the kpop scene (well, he was korean afterall). donghyun as first rejected the idea. remember, he liked his quietness all to well. though the idea of showing the world his amazing skills (more so than just on youtube) finally got to him. with his parent's blessing (they were both so proud of their baby), he was off to korea on one of the offers he was given.

RELATIONSHIPS.

HONO NO HOSHI / FIRE STAR

fire star started out back when donghyun was in high school with a bunch of hi friends (who thought dancing would help them get chicks). because of his natural affinity for dancing, his friends quickly dubbed him as their leader. while his friends recruited others to join, donghyun was focused on dancing. as fire star grew bigger, he became a really good leader to them all and considered all of them to be his children. he gave his best friend mahiko the leadership position when he moved back to korea to pursue his official training. fire star are really just a group of dancing dorks that are full of love. they support donghyun 100% with his dream. they still continue to do what donghyun did, posting original choreography and cover videos on youtube @hononohoshiofficial.

CHOI JINO / MANAGER 【 NAM WOOHYUN 】
"i'm pretty sure by now tired is just part of my personality"

donghyun feels for jino a lot. he knows looking after all the members of celestial can be tiring (even with two managers) and he glad to say that he's one of the few members who give jino some rest and behaves like he should. donghyun is mostly likely crying along with jino after their debut.

IM JAEYOUNG / MEANIE 【 JUNG JAEWON 】

donghyun would rather avoid jaeyoung like the plague. he's not a very nice man, hell, he's pretty rude. for someone who hold respect very seriously, he doesn't like how jaeyoung treats him when he is in fact older than him (even if it's a year, but still).

donghyun grew closer to doyoon due to their awesome dancing skills. he doesn't make a big deal over the older man's baby face or passive personality. he looks up to his skills and practically aspires to be just as good as doyoon. he honestly just wants people to treat doyoon with more respect cause he definitely deserves it.

MANGO / PRECIOUS GURL
"it's very important that i am are both cute and powerful"

mango is donghyun's baby. a leopard gecko he's had for about a year, he got her when he stepped into korea. being along with a little weird for him since he was used to his rambunctious friends being silly around him. so mango helps him feel not so lonely. she may be small, but she will protect her master!

TRAINEE YEARS. 10 months
TRAINEE LIFE. when his dance crew got popular due to their kpop dance covers, they were given many many offers to join multiple companies. his friends managed to coax him into accepting one of those many offers which happened to be milky way entertainment.

it was hard. his normal quiet, mellow life was turned upside by korea's entertainment industry. even though milky way was still new, it still hard for donghyun to get used to it all. he had to revert back to his native language (which he knew, it had just been long since he really used it, having used japanese more than korean), though it did help when most of the staff and other trainees seemed to share japanese roots as well.

due to his dancing abilities, he became quite close to jeon doyoon who would praise him for his obedience and dancing. 

PREDEBUT.
【 @HONONOHOSHIOFFICIAL 】 was the leader for the japanese dance crew, fire star. appeared in all of their videos before passing on the leadership to someone one else and moving to korea.
SCANDALS.
【 MEMBER OF ROOKIE GROUP IST? 】 sort of false. this whole debacle started when angry fans noticed how donghyun pays more attention to his male fans than his female ones. it is true that he seems to favor his male fans, but he loves his female fans all the same. the fans that started the rumor after a celestial fanmeet and waited hours for their turn in which they never even got to go up there. they just saw donghyun laughing and hugging some male fans and they used the opportunity.
【 CELESTIAL'S U.DON GAY? 】 false (actually true). anti-fans dug up old videos of fire star, noticing that the dance crew were supportive of gay rights, even doing charities for them. they brought it up because donghyun was so adamant on helping gay rights, so he had to be gay. donghyun is homoual, but he didn't want to bring down celestial's popularity so he and the company denied it.

INTERVIEW SECTION

"woman, bring the next kid." jaeyoung signals to yoi who rolls her eyes, "donggie-chan! you're next!" a soft smiling donghyun comes forth when he was mentioned, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. why did those suffixes always reduce him to this? obediently, he walks into the interview room and sits down across from jaeyoung.

"you know the drill," jaeyoung yawns, getting bored of the routine already. "i'll flash cue cards and you answer the questions- actually it would be even better if you can strip off and entertain me."

donghyun's eyes widened, caught off guard by such blunt words. his cheeks turn pink and the male begins to sputter.

jaeyoung just ignores the sputtering and focuses his camera on the still sputtering male while he waits for the latter to settle up in his seat; yoi at his side, ready with the flash cards off-screen.

PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF. 
"uh-uh,"donghyun starts, still a bit caught off guard by jaeyoung's earlier words. jaeyoung rolls his eyes off screen and donghyun shakes his head. "oh! um, hi guys,"donghyun closes his eyes while holidng a v-sign. "i'm celestial's dancing noodle, u.don!" a snort is heard and it most likely belonged to jaeyoung.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO FINALLY DEBUT? 
"well technically,"he starts, looking away from the camera. "i did sort of debuted...not as an idol, but...i was apart of a dance crew while i lived in japan." jaeyoung his heard yawning in the background which makes donghyun bunch his eyebrows. "but actually debuting as an idol...it's really amazing. i've always wanted this and now i'm finally getting to debut. it's just amazing."

"so original,"jaeyoung whispers at the end and donghyun pouts at those words.

HOW DOES IT FEEL DEBUTING IN A CO-ED GROUP? DO YOU GET ALONG WITH THE OPPOSITE MEMBERS? 
"the co-ed idea is really cool,"donghyun says with a smile. "i'm already used to working with females because of my dance crew, so it's not a first for me." there's some mumbling in the background, but donghyun just ignores it at this point.

"i'm really easy to get along with, so a lot of the girls come to me to hang out. so there's no problems with not getting along."

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BE AN IDOL, AND DO YOU HAVE ANYONE YOU LOOK UP TO? 
donghyun chuckles sheepishly when he reads the next cue card. "actually, my friends persuaded me." he rubs the back of his neck, feeling a little bad at the admittance. "i was content with just being the leader of the dance crew until we started doing kpop covers and we got whole lot of offers, especially me. my best friend finally got me thinking about it and i took the chance."

"hmm, if i had to choose...i'd choose milky way's very own dance coach, doyoon-sshi. he's better at me when it comes to dancing and i think he deserves more credit!"

jaeyoung rolls his eyes off camera and donghyun glares at him.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL MOMENTS DURING YOUR TRAINEE DAYS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US? 
donghyun is already blushing after he reads the question. "a-ah, i guess...there was this one time. one of our managers likes to sneak up on all of us." he takes a deep breath before continuing. "she tried doing it to me and well...i'm not very good to sneak up on. i always seem to sense when someone's behind me. so i...suddenly turned around and i scared her so much she tripped and hit a wall." jaeyoung's laughter could be heard, even his when yoi hits him, his ouch could be heard as well.

"i felt really bad about the whole thing and i took her out to eat to apologize."

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN THE GROUP? 
"i would say teddy bear, but that's already taken by our leader. so i'd say father. a lot of trainees come to me for advice. i think it's really cute."

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACHIEVE IN THE FUTURE WITH THE GROUP? 
donghyun grins. "like i wish for my dance crew, i hope celestial continues to grow and become popular worldwide."

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO WITH THE GROUP OTHER THAN YOUR USUAL SCHEDULE? 
donghyun thinks for a moment. "hmmm...with my dance crew, i always took them out to eat when we practiced choreography. but with celestial, i'd like to cook all of them one big meal and we could all eat it together. like a bit happy family." jaeyoung gags and instantly hisses when yoi hits him again.

IF YOU COULD JOIN ONE PROGRAM IN THE NEAR FUTURE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? 
"i'd love to go on hit the stage!" donghyun's face brightens up at the mere mention of the show. "it's another way to show everyone my skills. plus it'll be fun to see what the fans truly think of my skills."

LOVE STORY. donghyun first met shigeru when he began training at milky way entertainment. at first sight, donghyun knew shigeru was an adorable ball of fluff while also being a leader, even back then. it was no surprise when he was announced to be the leader of celestial. donghyun was extremely happy for the japanese man, cheering for him (not realizing that he would be chosen as well).
INTERACTIONS. donghyun, being the quiet person he is, admires shigeru from a far. they don't know each other that well, thanks to donghyun being the awkward puppy dog he is. donghyun wants to know shigeru better (even though he knows a lot about him from everyone in the company, but he wants to learn from shigeru himself). he's definitely more awkward around shigeru, not really knowing how to act around him. sometimes he just wants to pat him on the head and hug him, especially on shigeru's bad days.
