SM Entertainment has posted a message of gratitude to fans following Jonghyun's funeral.

On December 21, SM Entertainment made the following post to SHINee's official SMTOWN page:

"This is SM Entertainment. Today, we sent our artist Jonghyun, who we love, away warmly and peacefully. We deeply thank you for sending comfort to the grieving family, SHINee members, and related artists and staff, who are deeply saddened by the sudden parting. More than anything, we thank and greet the many fans and people in mourning who came to see Jonghyun despite the cold weather. We also thank his colleagues, sunbaes, hoobaes, and entertainment staff who adjusted their schedules in order to attend Jonghyun's memorial. Because of so many people's love and comfort, Jonghyun's final road wasn't lonely. We believe Jonghyun's music and passion as well as the talent he showed as an artist will go on in our hearts forever. Once again with our heads bowed, we sincerely thank everyone who sent their warm regards."

As previously reported, Jonghyun took his own life on December 18 after battling depression.
