"I look forward to my 28-year-old self," were the very words of SHINee's Jonghyun back in 2008.

However just 9 years later, the idol star left the side of his family, friends, and many fans, causing much devastation and sorrow. He sadly passed at the Korean age of 28.

With many fans listening to Jonghyun's songs and reflecting on his musical career, a previous interview also resurfaced. During a magazine interview, when asked what particular age he was longing for, Jonghyun responded, "Personally, I look forward to my 28-year-old self."

He continued, "There is one thing I vowed to do. That ten years later, I would do the things I want to do and become an amazing artist."

An amazing artist he did become as Jonghyun was loved by many fellow artists and fans around the world for his talented works.

During a fan meeting back in 2008, Jonghyun had happily agreed to "embark on a journey to outer space ten years later," at a fan's remark in a joking way, looking forward to the future.

Jonghyun will forever remain in the hearts of many loved ones and dear fans alike. Here's hoping that such tragic incidents will not happen again, allowing others to reflect on the seriousness of mental health.
