Depression is scary.

Having gone through periods of depression myself, there is no reason to why you it comes or why it goes. It is like a lingering monster that feeds you thoughts of the world being better off without you or that happiness will never come. Those thoughts constantly breaking you down and making you think the only way to end the agony is to die. 

I get it and from what I understand is that Jonghyun has been battling these thoughts for a very long time. 

Although Jonghyun had a very good support system around him with family, friends and fans, I feel like Korea still doesn't have a great system to deal with depression. He was known to talk about his depression openly and that still didn't bring alarm to people that he needs monitoring, medication or rehab/therapy. 

I knew Shinee as long as I have known SNSD. I must say these boys are all very talented in their own ways but Jonghyun always stood out as someone special. Today Korea and SM have failed Jonghyun who was an incredibaly talented artist. 

I hope he finally found his peace and happiness.

Prayers for his family, friends and fans who are deeply hurt.
