Visual Illusions Giveaway ^^

Hey guys, long time no...online-ness lol. I hope you all are well!

So ann1914 is acting like AFF's own Santa and doing a giveaway for the holidays. If you're looking for graphics, layouts, or want some extra karma sitting around, I would highly recommend taking part in this because you will not be disappointed. Ann has already done some posters for me in The 30 Day Challenge (here and here), and I really love her work.

If you're interested, check out this link here for all the information.

Aiight, here's my entry :)

~Poster

  • Title: Shadow
  • Author: lejeuparfait
  • Story link: https://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/1256815/
  • Pictures: n/a
  • Genre: general, mystery
  • Quotes: n/a
  • Story summary: Suhyun likes being around people and wants to be recognized, but her brother doesn't condone it. Shadows aren't meant to be seen. Except one night...
  • Other: so this is the story I submitted for IP's 5th anniversary haha, and I figured a poster would be nice for it...I would actually like more of a cover, something woodsy or in a campground setting. More serious than fun. Something like what you designed for the Song Jihyo/Daniel Henney poster would be awesome but without the pictures of the characters, if that makes sense. That colour scheme would fit just as nicely for this story too I think. As always though, you have good judgment and I trust it (:

Karma

This is honestly the only one I can remember, so I guess it is pretty memorable OR I have memory loss. Anyway, it has become a tradition for my family (excluding my mom) to go see a movie on Christmas Day as that's basically the only thing to do on the 25th of December (and also eat Chinese food since those are the only restaurants open on that day but I digress). On this particular day, we sent to go see one of The Hobbit movies, maybe the second one, the one with the fighting rock giants. The movie was good I guess; I love the Middle Earth world. But on this particular visit, something else overshadowed the viewing.
I'm engrossed in the movie, my sister is sitting on my left and my dad on my right. During that rock giant scene specifically, I feel a nudge from my sister so I look at her and lean in so she can tell me something. And what she says is, "There's a mouse on my arm."
Apparently I lean away from her with a disgusted look and just stare at her for a while after she finishes telling me (which I don't remember doing), but what I remember doing is looking at her in disbelief for a moment and then leaning over to my dad to tell him what she just told me. I remember him giving me a confused look so I have to repeat, which causes him to lean over my body to get to my sister and gently scoop up the mouse in his hand. He holds it for a minute and lets it go on the movie theatre floor.

I know, that's probably not what you expected him to do, but that's what happened. There are probably mice in every movie theatre btw, just how it is since there's food that gets trapped in every nook and cranny of that place.
After The Hobbit is over and we're spilling out of the room, my sister tells us that she initially thought someone threw popcorn at her. That's when she looked down and saw that something was on her arm. She tried to shake it off but it wouldn't come off. So she looked at it closer and saw that it was actually a mouse. Then the nudging me, me nudging my dad, etc. happened.

Hehe, hope that wasn't too freaky, but it was memorable! Probably the only thing I remember about that Christmas, whatever year it was XD

I didn't think about the possibility of mice running around in theaters but that does sound plausible. That must have been a weird encounter. If that was me, I would have flicked whatever it was (even the mice) away by reflex especially if it got on to me in a dark room. Sometimes I have one second to look over and assess the gross/omg factor to switch the flickering reflex on, lol.
The Hobbit... I only watched one of the movies and it was like 3 hours long. ;__; It was good though.
But that's a great way to spend time with family! What movie are you guys planning to watch for this year?
