appearance » She is a living, breathing Disney princess,  of course she has to look like one. Heart-shaped face, doe eyes and plump lips give her a doll-like appearance. She's not really beautiful, at least not without makeup, but there is a certain charm to her - mostly thanks to her lips and contagious smile. Her hair, dyed brown, cascades all the way to her lower back. She looks really tall when she's in the aquarium because of the tail, so it comes as a shock that in real life she's only 159 centimeters tall. Her body is toned thanks to her job, but it doesn't mean diets are out of the question - she shows her body for a living, and she wants to be proud of it. It results in a waist a little too thin and ribs a little too prominent, but Eunha only notices the slight folds on her stomach that form when she's sitting.

Tail » Of course, you can't talk about Eunha without talking about her tail. 1.5 meters long, teal and shiny, it's as much part of Eunha as her legs. Her pride and glory, it has served as her loyal tail for three years now.

 

style » Her style isn't all that unique or special. She wears pretty casual clothes during her day to day life, but she does love going all out when she parties. She also has no problem showing her body - her legs and are AMAZING, thank you tail training!

Her makeup is, again, usually casual, but if she has an event as Aileen, she'd put bold, colorful makeup. She learned how to do makeup quite well because of her mermaid gig, but knows only 2 looks that work well, and doesn't experiment because she lacks the creativity.

Even though she has lived all of her life above the water rather than under it, sometimes you can't really tell with Eunha. She has almost childish naivety to her that makes her surprised and happy about the smallest of things. The sky is blue today? Awesome, it's so pretty! There are clouds? Cool, they look so fluffy! Did you see the new candy flavor the shop down the street got? Gosh, she can't wait to try it! Everything about life is absolutely wonderful and fun, and just like a child, each day is like a new adventure. And when you get to go on a new adventure every single day, you can't help but be happy, right!?

 

It might also be because she's a big dumb dumb. Eunha is... well, it's a good thing she found her calling as a mermaid. She has never been very intelligent, and focused her entire life on swimming and singing rather than studying. It's not even just the academic aspect, Eunha is generally just not good at being smart. Her naivety makes her believe practically anything said to her (no matter how bad the prank would be, she'd fall for it), and she is oblivious to things like social cues. It doesn't mean she doesn't try - everything she does all the time is trying. She loves people even though she is awkward around them (she will point it out when the situation is awkward as hell. She won't notice when everyone else becomes embarrassed that she said it), and tries to be the best she can to them. She is very empathic and compassionate, and the kind of girl to tear up when she hears a heartbreaking story about a family that lost the father to the war, or a wholesome tale about a rescued puppy. She is also emotional and acts according to how she feels rather than how she thinks. It doesn't mean she's crying 24/7, but everything she does is heavily based on her emotions.

 

Eunha is very passionate about life in general - people, nature, her job - and you can see that passion with the things she does. If she's invested in something, she'll give it all she's got, even if she can't really achieve what she wants. She doesn't realize it, of course. She is a dreamer and acts according to how she feels. She doesn't sit to think about things like consequences, and generally doesn't know when something is unrealistically unachievable - anyone else would've never put so much faith in the mermaid gig, but Eunha believed with her entire heart that that was her calling.

 

She is unrealistic not just about her job, but about herself. She embodies a mermaid princess, therefore she should be good enough to be a mermaid princess. A mermaid princess is beautiful and slim, so Eunha works out and eats as little as possible to maintain what she thinks is a perfect figure (not noticing the ribs sticking out and a waist that gets thinner and thinner with each day). She sees blurry images of little kids watching from the other side of the aquarium, and she knows she needs to be the best mermaid princess for them. She doesn't realize that she's trying to be someone she's not, instead seeing it as trying to be the best. She has a sassy side to her, one that loves ty jokes and can't help snorting at ual innuendos, but as mermaid Aileen, she can't do that. She tries to hide it because that's what Aileen would do. She tries so hard, without realizing that sometimes she ends up hurting herself in the process.

 

And how could she notice, when she's so busy being a living mermaid!? It's the best thing in the world! There's no time for being angsty when you're a mermaid princess. Everything is better under the sea.

 

 

 

  

BACKGROUND »  For as long as she could remember herself, there were two things Eunha was in love with.

 

One was the ocean. It had always fascinated Eunha. Living in Busan, plenty of her childhood memories are of playing in the ocean with her family and friends, and it has become a sort of a second home for her. That love was what made her originally start swimming, joining her school's swimming team. Swimming was freeing and magical, and every time she was under the water she felt like a mermaid.

 

The second was singing. Her best childhood memories are of her mother singing lullabies to her in her wonderful voice, and growing up Eunha always tried to imitate her mother's singing. When her parents saw how much she enjoyed music, they signed her up for private vocal lessons and the church's choir. Singing, unlike swimming, was grounding, giving her a sense of security and familiarity. Every time she sang, she felt like her mother was right there with her, no matter where she was.

 

Of course, as invested as she was with swimming and singing, her academic achievements were not the most admirable. She was never very gifted in academics, but without investing time in studying, Eunha flanked almost every subject she took. It left her with an unimpressive high school diploma and a bunch of rejection letters from universities. Eunha was at loss regarding what to do with her life. For some time she worked as a waitress, but that made her miserable and she quit. She tried auditioning for an entertainment company - her voice was amazing, after all - but she was too old, and lacked dancing skills. Rescue came in the form of an add - a local club was looking for a mermaid model for their pool party. It sounded fun, and Eunha had always wanted to be a mermaid, and she ended up applying for the job.

 

It was magical. The club wanted a model to look pretty, but Eunha went out of herself and gave them an entire show - swimming in a monofin was a bit tasking, but she swam around the pool and sang, immersing herself in the role completely. By the end of the party, the club offered her four more different jobs.

 

From there, Eunha became a mermaid. With the money she got from her party appearances she bought her very own, custom-made tail (a pricey thing, but if she was going to be a mermaid, she was going to do it right), took scuba diving lessons, and started marketing herself as the Mermaid Aileen.

 

A few years later she is working in the Busan Aquarium, as well as making appearances at various parties and events. She is quite busy, but business would've been better if she wasn't a little dumb. Eunha doesn't mind though, she is living the dream, after all. Who wouldn't want to be a mermaid???

 

 

LIKES » 

- Water - be it a pool or the sea, Eunha lives for the water.

- Music - listening and performing, but not composing. Thanks to her scuba diving training she has a huge lung capacity, and it helps tremendously with high notes. Her voice is your average Disney princess voice, nothing on Ailee or Taeyeon, but it is captivating, in a raw, emotional kind of way.

- Disney - She is a mermaid princess, after all. Disney is what she grew up on, and you bet she knows all the lyrics to all the songs.

- New things and new experiences - they are just so new and so fun!!

- Marine animals - every time Eunha gets to swim with marine animals in the Aquarium, she is the happiest woman on earth. You've never really lived until you swam with dolphins, whales, and sharks. Nothing is ever the same.

- Sports - she needs to maintain her body, and actually really enjoys it! She loves yoga, but absolutely adores team sports and games.

- She is not embarrassed to show her body, as she's used to it from her mermaid costume. She is rarely embarrassed in general, too oblivious to properly know.

- She can hold her drink quite well - she gets drunk very easily, but her hangovers aren't as bad as they are for other people.

- She is a very sporty person in general, and enjoys various forms of sports. She adores team sports, and has a lot of stamina to back her immense enthusiasm.
- Thanks to constantly working out, she is also quite strong.

- She lives for new experiences, so you won't hear her say "no" to trying new stuff.

- She is very naive, and no doubt people would take advantage of that.

- She's also pretty dumb

- Can't cook to save her own life. Once managed to burn package ramen.

- While she is very musical, and can sing extremely well, she is not creative at all, so don't go asking her to compose you a song or write you emotional lyrics. She won't be able to provide.

- She is rather oblivious, and can't read social cues well. It can result in awkward situations.
 

trivia »

- She can comfortably hold her breath underwater for at least 3 and a half minutes. Her personal record was just a little over 5 minutes.

- Due to working mostly underwater, Eunha has the best collection of waterproof makeup. It will not budge. Not even after a bath with a dolphin.

LOVE INTERESTS » Kihyun, Changkyun, Hyunwoo

the reason you applied » Well, first of all, she's a huge fan - she has seen all of the episodes of the previous season, and it was great. The mansion was amazing, the guys were hot, the dramas were fun... what's there not to like? Also the naive, dreaming part of her thinks it's very romantic and disney-like to fall in love with a guy who conceals his true form, but in the end blooms into a hot, funny, rich flower. Kind of like Tangled, but without the long hair and evil stepmothers... she hopes. Also, she doesn't mind just hooking up with a few hot dudes and enjoy an awesome vacation for free. Either way, it's a win win! And so much fun too!

 

strategy » phawawawa strategy? As if Eunha is smart enough for that. Eunha is just going to be herself (or the person she unconsciously tries to make herself to be), and that should be more than enough. Like a siren, she will charm them with her awesome voice and hot body, and maybe with her sense of humor and pure attitude. But mostly with her hot body. I mean, come on, she sure as hell going to swim in the pool all. the. time. Just like the previous mermaid girl did.

• jooheon » He is FUN! DJs are usually really cool, they do stuff with music Eunha could never figure out! Plus, every party she has ever attended, the DJ was super nice to her. His jokes are super funny too! He's the bro she always wanted to have!
  
  
• changkyun » Oh gosh. Changkyun plays on all of Eunha's heartstrings. He's hot. He's funny as . He looks like the kind of guy she could do all sort of fun stuff with, and that would be dope as . He doesn't keep up appearances, and Eunha finds it oddly charming. It provides a bit of a contrast to how she tries to be better than she is. She feels free around him. He reminds her of the ocean, freeing and full of adventure.
  
  
• hyungwon » Honestly she wouldn't really notice Hyungwon all that much. He's boring in his perfectness and doesn't really stand out in the crowd of Jooheons, Kihyuns, and Changkyuns. Eunha would probably forget he's a bachelor half of the time.
  
  
• hyunwoo » Both of them are swimmers, of course Eunha is going to approach him! He is such a good listener! And his body is to die for! It's totally okay that he's so awkward, Eunha doesn't know what awkward means - she'll just shrug it off and talk to him about how awesome water is. Ironically, he reminds her of her mother's songs, embracing and secure.
  
  
• minhyuk » Eunha has seen ALL of Minhyuk's dramas, and you bet she's going to fangirl over him at first... until more interesting people like Chankyun and Kihyun take her away from him. He' still nice eye candy though.
  
  
• hoseok » Why is everyone this season so hot??? Hoseok is yet another awesome eye candy, but eh he's not really interesting other than that. Maybe once his secret is out... but for now, he's just nice to look at. Talk about a beautiful vacation.
  
  
• kihyun » He is the Sebastian to her Ariel... No. He's the crazy chef to her Sebastian. Only instead of trying to kill her, she sort of wants to melt him? His harsh words bounce off of her like nothing, she 's way too dense to get half of what he's saying anyway. And after Kihyun attacks, it's Eunha's turn. You can only melt a snowman with heat, and she sure as hell is one hot lady.

"So...this is season 2 of Bachelor's Paradise. Interesting how people are still torturing themselves with applying for this show. Please, introduce yourself."

• "Hello everyone! My name is Kim Eunha, and I'm a mermaid!" She smiles brightly, before realizing what the man has said. "W-Wait... t-torture? Are you bringing that crazy fangirl back??"

"Why do you think you need this program to find love? Is there a reason you couldn't find love on your own?"

• "Well, I didn't find love without it, maybe it's the one push I need!" She answers lively. "And I don't know why I couldn't find love on my own. It's not like I haven't been in love with people before, or at least people told me they love me - like those drunk dudes from the club, wow they kept proclaiming their love for me all night long. That was super nice of them! Oh, and the ocean is my love, so I did find love on my own." She winks. "What? Was that too cheesy?"

"Why should we choose you and not someone else?"

• "Ehh I'm really fun! I'm willing to try all sorts of new stuff! And I can hold my breath for 5 minutes! And I can imitate a horse! Oh and there's this absolutely ing thing I can do with my legs... Oh. No, no, I said nothing. There's nothing about the legs, please ignore that. Oh! There's also this thing with my - Oh. Nope. You don't need to hear about that one either." She grins sheepishly, completely oblivious to the way Yoongi facepalms.

"What do you think about people who gain a lot of money?"

• "How??" She exclaims. "How do they do that? It's honestly fascinating! Like one moment they have 100$, and then a day later BOOM! It's 1,000,000$! Seriously, that's art!"

"Any hopes or dreams for the future?"

• "I already achieved my biggest dream, to become a mermaid, but hey! The sky is the limit! I want to try all sorts of cool stuff, and I want to have even more fun, and I want to swim even more with super cool animals, and show my future husband all the cool underwater stuff he's probably been missing his entire life, oh and I definitely want to go to Africa and pet a zebra because they are cool as ! And I really want to just sit on a rock in the harbor in my mermaid costume and start singing. That would totally spook some sailors, right?? Maybe I should do it this halloween..."
  
  The camera records six more minutes of her talking and Yoongi trying his very best not to strangle her. It turns out pretty funny if you speed the film and see the changes in the man's face.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's move on to the next question. Did you watch season 1?"

• "OH MY GOD, YES!" Yoongi winces, visibly regretting asking. Eunha doesn't notice. "I was the BIGGEST NaJin fan ever, and holy , when you and Mihoon touched pinkies, I was screaming, that was so romantic and adorable, it's how tsunderes proclaim their love for each other, that was amazing! And seriously, justice for Juna! And Johanna was way too precious for that show, she looks like such a cool person, and she's so smart I'm jealous!! OH! There was totally something going on between Jiho and Inguk, right?? Don't think I didn't notice the way he glanced at her all the time, and she was doing this thingy when she was looking at him, and -"
  
  Ten minutes later, Yoongi is on the verge of killing himself, but not before he murders the girl in front of him in cold blood, enjoying every second in which she struggled. 

"Okay, okay! that's it! ... why are you looking at me like that? You want to tell me something else?"

• "Eh, do you always do that thingy with your face?" She asks, wiggling her fingers in front of his face and imitating a nasty scowl. "No? Okay then, I guess I was imagining stuff."

comments/suggestions » I'm really bummed I stumbled on the story just now, and not when it originally began with season 1, because Bachelor Paradise is absolutely fantastic! The idea is amazing, and if the first season is any indication, the story is going to be bomb.
