A story I am considering to make, but am conflicted with whether I should do it or not. Basically it shall be a high school /college au following the show choir club. They used to be the best of the best, but as years went by, has become one of the worst. Enter several students who want to return its legacy to what it once was before. Yes, I have always liked movies/series like Glee, High School Musical, Camp Rock, etc. And this is also heavily inspired by the anime Haikyuu, if anyone knows it? 

 

Crescendity is the name of the club which stands for Crescendo (a gradual increase in loudness/intensity) and Serenity (state of being calm). Which is suposed to mean that they are a group that can cover a wide array of songs and amotions, showing constant growth in their progress. (I think that's what it was suposed to mean, I never actually wrote it down when I thought of the name months ago)

STYLE ♡ seollin seldom goes shopping as she'd rather sit at home and read a book or play some instruments instead of spend hours and hours trying to find the perfect outfit. she prefers plaid flannels over almost anything in the world and would often be seen wearing either that or anything that's white (or at least, beige), that is, unless she's meeting someone special.

PERSONALITY ♡

seollin often claims that she's not good enough, albeit the other members disagreeing with her. with a rather 'displeasing' incident haunting her, she always believes that there is somewhat an evil spirit in the group that keeps telling her that she isn't welcomed. if there were quarrels going around, she would choose not to join in; but when someone crosses her line, she would be the very first to voice out her discomfort - and most of the time, not in a very polite manner.

prior to her negative traits, some may argue that they are what make her even more hardworking than others. her strong determination to perfect her vocals lead to a whole new level of diligence as she can be seen listening to recordings of others and herself, and often getting advice from teachers and friends. who knows, maybe that's why she's never late - because she reaches early to warm up a little bit more. her past experiences also make her a more considerate person and always tries to reason with people who have problems with things.

if there was one person who could always make seollin laugh without fail, it is none other than her brother who never runs out of dad jokes. but sometimes, seollin really wishes that she didn't have to share a room with the long-winded young adult.

as a senior who is well respected in the performing arts field (primarily as a contemporary dancer), he often gives seollin productive advice and updates on events he thinks seollin would enjoy. seollin would also refer to him for most of her concerns.

PAST ♡ i originally intended to join seoul institute of arts as a piano major, but being nervous at the audition didn't help as i failed. that is when hakyeon introduced me to this college as he knew that i would be able to get the same exposure to the field, but in a less stressful environment.

ARE YOU IN ANY CLUB(S) AT COLLEGE? (ASIDE FROM SHOW CHOIR) ♡
a present member of the college's editorial board; once a member of the school orchestra, but dropped out eventually as i thought that classical music didn't suit me.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO JOIN SHOW CHOIR? ♡
i had my eyes on the interesting concept of show choirs for a long time, but i never made the decision to actually join until hakyeon introduced the unit to me. he said that i could drastically improve in my vocals if i did, which convinced me very easily.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE CLUB? ♡
i guess the only thing i can do is provide my vocals and help in completing the choir? just joking. i'm interested in arranging songs in various genres, therefore i think i'll be able to contribute in that aspect.

HOW GOOD IS YOUR MUSICALITY? ♡
i do have perfect pitch, and i use that to my advantage when learning new songs to be performed on the piano for different occasions. i haven't tried composing something as overwhelming as 5-minute number before, but i have several short tracks that i made throughout summer breaks.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU CAN MUSICALLY IMPROVE ON? ♡
my vocals are not as impressive as people think, really. the only gift i have is my voice, but my skills are still lacking in many aspects. in addition, i would like to explore more on different rhythm patterns - i find that my compositions are all rather similar in terms of the drum beats, and it ticks me off that there isn't much variety in the content that i create.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SINGING/RAPPING? HAVE YOU HAD PROFESSIONAL TRAINING? ♡
i have finished my abrsm piano course and is now preparing (or should i say, struggling) for my next diploma exam. i have not gotten professional training in singing before joining crescendity.

HOW MUCH MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE DO YOU HAVE? ♡
thanks to the past 13 years of piano lessons, i know the essential terms and the basics of a choir, etc. however, i still have very minimal knowledge of the technical terms used in singing. for example, i cannot differentiate between head voice and falsettos.

WHAT IS HIS PERSONALITY LIKE? ♡
          —  positive, cheerful, organised, helpful, perfectionist
          —  hot-tempered, strict, VERY unconfident, perfectionist, immature at times

 

sure, he might have shown reluctance in joining everyone at the start, considering he knew almost nobody and didn't like this decision; but later, he proved himself to be talented in learning and never stops his creative juices from flowing. however, as the perfectionist he is, he gets frustrated very easily, let it be because someone messed up the steps, or because he just couldn't get that one note in tune. it is acknowledged that the only reason jimin couldn't do something well because he rarely feels confident in himself.

WHAT IS HIS MAJOR, FAVORITE & LEAST FAVORITE SUBJECT? ♡
MAJOR - dance

FAVOURITE SUBJECT - none, he enjoys dance as a whole

LEAST FAVOURITE SUBJECT - history in general, but he does seem to show more interest in the history of contemporary arts

WHAT CLUB IS HE IN? ♡
he joined the dance club, but decided to take a break after injuring himself in a competition. that's also one of the reasons why he ended up here.

WHY DID HE JOIN SHOW CHOIR? ♡
let's be honest: he has no idea why he's here. he is an aspiring contemporary dancer who idolises baby-g from the boy group, beyond the scene, for his extensive dance background; but he ended up here in a show choir, only because a senior from the same dance studio recommended him to join in, and also because of his injury.

HOW GOOD IS HIS MUSICALITY? ♡
he is very sensitive to rhythms and the flow of a song due to his experience in dancing. he experiments a lot when trying to choreograph and is able to portray the emotions of a song very well.

HOW MUCH MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE DOES HE HAVE? ♡
he has very minimal knowledge of music in general, as he has devote half of his life to dancing. nonetheless, since he picked up the piano for a few years, he still remembers the fundamentals, like forte, piano, crescendo, et cetera.

ANYTHING ELSE WORTH MENTIONING? ♡
as the show choir is broadway-based, he admits that he has had a hard time trying to choreograph based on the genre, but thanks to hakyeon, he has picked up a lot of things ad have improved with time. his natural timbre is what made him nominated as the soloist, though he often rejects the offer. yet again, another proof that he is never confident in himself.

FIRST MEETING TOGETHER? ♡
the first time they met was in the public bus, where jimin sat next to seollin every time he got on board. they never started talking to each other until jimin saw seollin watching baby-g's dance practice videos on her phone.

HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP TOGETHER? ♡
back in highschool days, as they went to different schools, jimin and seollin could only communicate by texting, even when sitting next to each other on the bus as they were supposed to be silent. when jimin felt uneasy as a lonely member in the show choir, seollin was the first to approach him (much to nobody's surprise). ever since, they liked to jam with each other, let it be harmonising their vocals or a piano-dance collaboration. they swore that they were not more than close friends, but it wasn't until one incident where they realised that they actually cared for each other more than they thought. during normal practices, they compliment each other's role as member, where seollin helps jimin get along with the rest of the choir and jimin reassuring seollin that she is definitely appreciated as the talented musician of the group.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS ♡
seollin knows that jimin had always wanted to be the solo for once, for this reason she arranged a song with a solo part that is specially made and modified to suit jimin's voice, hoping it would convince him to take the challenge. however, as jimin was not in good terms with the leader at that time, he opposed everything that the leader proposed as a form of indirect protest towards whatever they did. hence, jimin rudely rejected the score (with the excuse that the score was 'cancerous', just to avoid the suspicion that he was being immature by acting against the leader) without knowing seollin was the one who arranged it. they end up quarreling privately as seollin was very disappointed that jimin didn't even appreciate the score for a single bit. hence for the first time, seollin cried in front of a boy, revealing that she was the one behind the score and it was all for jimin, but angrily tore the score into pieces in front of him as it was no longer needed. they didn't talk to each other for a few days and rumours of seollin quitting the show choir were spread. that's when jimin confronted seollin and explained everything to her.
