PERSONALITY
Cunning, Intelligent, Curious, Original, Individualistic, Witty, Resourcefull, Realistic.

Anastasiya is a very cunning young lady. She doesn't take bullcrap from others, can easily spot when people are underestimating her and she can use it to her own benefit. All of this can make her someone that fits the description of 'street smart', but she's also 'book smart'. She has many innate talents, but her curiosity just makes her avid for more information, more knowledge.

You also can't say that she's ordinary. In anything she does. Originality is what sets her apart from others, and if there is something she would hate would be considered 'normal' or 'like the rest'. She's proud of who she is and she won't change it, and if you don't like, worse for you. She's also very individualistic, what means that making friends and working in a group is a huge difficulty for her.

But if you manage to make her stand you for long periods of time, you will see that she's a great person to have around since she's really resourceful. Her quick thinking and wittiness are great assets to have when you're in a sticky situation (be it facing something really dangerous or just having to embroil some prefosser while you copy last minute the homework you forgot to do last night).

Also, Ana is extremily realistic. She says things as she sees them and beating around the bush is not her style. She doesn't have a tendency of pending either for optimism of pessimism, instead standing resolutelly right in the middle. This makes her point of view rather unique and kind of crude. As an example, many pure-blood were thaught to think that they are better than others, and usually they despise mugglebors and muggles, but for Ana, she's really indifferent. She doesn't care about the blood status of someone, and she frequently reply with the quote she took from her mother: "A dragon doesn't worry about mice. So why should I worry about muggles and muggleborns?"

All in all, she seems very intimidating, and she can be very powerful, but she just really doesn't care about many things to actually be a threat to anybody. She just wants to get more knowledge. And maybe annoy and teach a lesson to the pr*cks that cross her way and disturbe her peace (with no discriminations between the houses).

BACKGROUND
Her mother graduated from Hogwarts in the year the first Wizard War broke (1970). But she managed to flee and not be in the front lines since she was from a very minor branch of the Burke family and because she already had everything set to work on a long term project in Romania, Hungary and Ukraine as Dragonologist. Despite that, her family was one of Death Eaters, and she was entrusted with gathering more magical creatures to their cause between those that were relegated by the wizard community (in this case, the Baba Yagas).

But when she arrived at her training camp, she met Alexander Vulchanov, a bulgarian wizard resposible to keep everyone safe and to keep the muggles away from the dragons reserves. Graduated not long ago from Durmstrang, and descendant of a Pure Blood family, he was a great suitor and her parents didn't oppose when they started dating and married.

The war kept going on, the news about the Dark Lord reached as far as Bulgaria, and while Winona had secured the alliance with the Baba Yagas, the war front never reached there and she got comfortable being away from it. Specially after her daughter, Anastasiya, was born. She had never told anyone that in a way or another, she was working for the Dark Lord (not that she had any choice in that matter, really), and she intented to keep it a secret to not put her husband and child in danger. Be it from the hands of other Death Eaters (and she dared to say, even from the Dark Lord himself), or from the supposed 'good guys', that at that period of time were using Unforgivable Curses as much as the Death Eaters.

As Anastasiya grew, it was clear that she had an inclination to less conventional branches of magic. And to less conventional tastes in general. At the same time that her parents were proud of her showing signs of becoming a powerful witch one day, her mother was worried that this would attract unwanted attention to her. So that's why she never minded not going back to England. And maybe talking openly about the war and the Dark Lord didn't help to suppress Ana's interest in the Dark Arts. Not that her mother ever said or deffend the 'bad side' out loud, but since her father was not afraid to discuss it, so having dinner while listening to the news about the war was a daily thing in their house. It was never taboo to discuss those things to them.

When the war was over and Voldemort seemingly defeated, Winona was stunned, but also felt relief, because her family could finally live in peace without the shadow of fear over them (or better, without the shadow of fear over her own head). But one year later when Igor Karkaroff became the new Headmaster of Durmstrang, Winona knew that she couldn't simply let Anastasiya go to that school, because if there was someone that probably knew of her identity as a Death Eater, that person was Karkaroff, since he was one of her connections to the war front. She knew of his reputation and she didn't want her daughter to be completly corrupted. The kid already had a fascination for everything unusual and somber (to not say dark), letting her in the hands of a former Death Eater definitely was not a good idea if she wanted Ana to grow up and have a normal life.

Convincing her husband was very easy, and using the card that she was herself a former Hogwarts student (which Headmaster was Albus Dumbledore, a great contrats with Karkaroff), they moved to London and sent letters to the Ministery of Magic to ask for permission for Ana to attend Hogwarts, despite the fact that she lived most of her life outside Great Britain.

TRIVIA
Descedant of Nerida Vulchanova, founder of Durmstrang Institute.

She mixes bulgarian words while speaking english, so instead of saying 'friend/pal' she says 'priyatel', 'metla' for 'broom', 'direktor' for 'headmaster'  and things like that. For the words that sounds similar, like 'profesor/professor' she says it with a very strong bulgarian accent (because after all, she's speaking those words in bulgarian lol)

When she learns how to use the patronus spell, her patronus would be a Gray Wolf.

She wants to train to be an Animagus. She totally would be a black cat with golden eyes.

Even after moving to London, she still keep in touch with her old neighbor (and kind of friend), a 8 years old boy named Viktor Krum.

Her favorite place in London is Borgins&Burkes.

She's greatly gifted in Occlumency, and her mother teached it to her.

Besides Occlumency, she also has an inclination and gift to wandless and non verbal magic.

DADA, Potions, Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures are probably the 'normal' subjects that she would excell in.

In a lowkey and twisted way, she admires Grindelwald.

Since she's indifferent to the whole blood-status thing, even that she's indifferent towards muggleborns, so she is towards other pure-bloods. So she actually has the same chances of befriending a muggleborn than befriending a pure-blood.
Those who shape me:

FAMILY

Father, Alexander Vulchanov, 32, Pure Blood, Security Warlock, Prideful&Flamboyant,
Master duelist, skilled tamer and descendant of Nerida Vulchanova, Alexander has great pride in his abilities and in his heritage. He's the one that is always inciting Ana's self confidence, always saing that one should be proud of oneself, no matter what other people say. You should be you and if that makes you happy, screw everybody else!

Mother, Winona Vulchanova (neé Burke), 31, Pure Blood, Dragonologist, Somber&Serious,
Winona is an elegant woman, but in a disturbing way. She seems to glide instead of walk and her dark eyes seems to be looking inside your soul (pretty close to what actually happens, since she's a Legilimens and Occlumens). She's an admirer of the Dark Arts, not THAT much of the Dark Lord. She doesn't care that much about the blood status, she just wants the knowledge, and this kind of attitude was passed away to her daughter. She's intimidating but strong, and while Alexander is the parent that push Ana foward, Ana actually looks up to her mother.

FRIENDS

She was the weird one even back in Bulgaria. The closest to a friend she had was her neighbor Viktor. And even to him she couldn't open up completely because he totally despised Grindelwald.

OTHERS

"Grandma", Baba Inga, very old, she's a Baba Yaga, Wise&Spooky,
Baba means 'grandma' in many slavic languages, and this old creepy lady always acted as one towards Ana. They met because of Winona's work, and fortunatelly for Ana, the Babas doesn't have a fixed alligment, meaning that they could equally do good and evil. Meaning that Baba Inga had no problem teaching her basic Dark Arts when her parents were not there.
A new adventure:

ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO HOGWARTS? My parents say it's better to me on the long run, so who am I to disagree? My mom deals with Hungarian Horntails. She knows what she's doing.

WHICH HOUSE DO YOU WANT TO GET INTO? Maybe Ravenclaw? It would be good to talk with intelligent people.

IS THERE A HOUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN? Hupplepuff. People will think I'm friendly and nice.

WHICH CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO? Defense Against the Dark Arts /murmurs "it's the closest that I will get to actual Dark Arts"/

WILL YOU BE TRYING OUT FOR QUIDDITCH? I don't think so.

ARE YOU BRINGING A PET? My fire salamander. His name is Dracula. I can take him right? He's not that much different from a toad. He's also an amphibian.

ANY THOUGHTS ON HE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED OR HIS FOLLOWERS? They are blood supremacists, not dark wizards. Grindelwald was a Dark Wizard.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD? If it seems that I don't want to talk to you, you're right. I don't.
Any last words:

COMMENTS: I shouldn't, but here she is. There is a candidate that was suposed to go to Beaubaxtons, and another that wanted to go to Ilvermorny, so here you have my little goth lowkey dark arts lover that was suposed to go to Durmstrang 8D /run
Also, I tried to craft her in a way that was not too much repetitive, not sure if I succeeded.
And think about her family like the wizard version of the Addams family lol
SUGGESTIONS: Making friends with all the Slytherins. And throwing at people's face the FACT that Merlin was a Slytherin AND Muggle defender.
PASSWORD: Slytherclaw all the way! /run
