PERSONALITY
Airhead, shy, well-manered, respectful, supportive, loyal, curious, ironic, intelligent, unfocused.

First of all, Aidan is an airhead. He's forgetful and seems that he never pays attention to what's happening, because he's thinking in other things (probably one more story to write or another RPG character). He's also full of funny reactions, and he can't hide his emotions when they show up in his face. He's also really creative and the one that probably would spout ramdom pop culture references when talking (and that none of his wizard friends would understand).

Shy at the first meeting, he would rarelly initiate a conversation, though if someone approaches him first he's always respectful and even quite friendly. Teachers would probably like him, since he's the perfect student on class (with his parents' profession, it couldn't be any other way).

But the more you get to know him, the more you will see that he's a very supportive and loyal friend. He would always be there to cheer someone up, or to try to protect someone (although usually he's the protected one), and his loyalty would make him face his fears if this means helping his friends. Or would make him follow them into something really stupid just because he can't say 'no'. Also doesn't help that he's a curious kid and poking his curiosity is the best way to make him agree to do something otherwise he wouldn't do.

And finally, deep down on his core, when you reach the level when he's trully comfortable around you, you will find out that he's a sarcastic and ironic little sh*t. He's way more ironic than sarcastic on the day-to-day, but sarcasm can be used when in emotionally draining situations. He grew up surrounded by classical books and by his parents' ironic friends, so he's really used to it, and 'fool' is probably his favorite curse too. He's also pretty intelligent. Like, really, he is, just that his focus is usually somewhere else, like, his stories, or really unpratical questions about dragons.

BACKGROUND
Aidan was born and raised in an old 19th century house in Coleraine, where most of the vacant rooms were turned into mini-libraries, and every nook and crany of the house was re-organized to be the perfect reading place.

He's the only child of a couple of professors, so most of his childhood was spent reading the many books his parents owned, or playing fantasy RPGs with his family or friends. On the sunny weekends his little family of three would always have picnics and play at Dunluce Castle, the Giant's Causeway or Carrik-A-Rede rope bridge. So even that he was a little bookworn, raised by two adult bookworms, he still had a healthy quota of time spent at the open air.

Also, as a muggle, he was blissful unaware of the Wizard War happening. Maybe his parents had seen some weird things on the news, like any other muggle, but they would never ever imagine what was really happening. (So he probably wouldn't find weird to make friends with Slytherins.)

It was on the summer after his eleventh birthday, after his two-years-old cat almost killed an owl, that his life turned into almost like one of the stories of his beloved RPGs. Because that owl (that they took care of after rescuing it) brought the letter that suddenly announced that Aidan was, in fact, a wizard.

TRIVIA

Biggest eleven-years-old expert in british (scottish and celtic included) and irish mythology because he plays every fantasy RPG that he can put his hands on.

His favorite books are 'The Hobbit' and 'The Chronicles of Narnia' series.

Think about someone that would become a fervent fan of Quidditch once he knows what it is. His team would obviously be the Ballycastle Bats (the Northen Ireland team, second best of the British and Irish League, winner of 27 League Cups, as he would proudly recite)

His surname means 'son of the bard' in Irish (the original not-anglicized form is 'Mac an Bhaird') and his family has a story passed through generations of a suposed ancestor that was a bard so good, that he would entice people with his storytelling. Oh and he also had an awesome beard.

He could easily spent days at the library in Hogwarts.

He probably spent his first week in Hogwarts saying "That's so cool!" for basically anything and everything.

If he ever gets in trouble, would probably be because he read something he wasn't supposed to, or because he was playing with some creature deemed too dangerous.

He likes to create stories. So yeah, he's an amateur fantasy writer.
Those who shape me:

FAMILY

Father, William 'Billy' Ward, 45, Muggle, History Professor, Clumsy&Lively,
Billy is that clumsy but very enthusiastic professor that you can't help but like him. He probably is a little old-fashioned in his clothes, but his mind is open like the one of a kid. And maybe that's why he gets so well with his son. He's the one that introduced the fantasy in Aidan's life, he's the ever reliabe game partner and the one that would organize Aidan's stories so it would historicaly makes sense inside that world. Also the one that would cook Aidan's favorite meals. "If you keep your heart and your creativity, you can go anywhere, and do anything" is what he always says to Aidan.

Mother, Bella Ward, 41, Muggle, Classical Literature Professor, Hardworking&Caring,
Bella is a very caring mother. Maybe sometimes a little too neurotic and overprotective, but she always means good. Maybe she's not as bright as her husband (what actually is kinda unfair because she's really intelligent -Ph.D and all-, just that Billy is a freaking genius), but for sure she's way more practical and the one that actually keeps their house going. Finances and everything are her responsability. She's also Aidan's safe port, and the one he runs to when he faces a problem. "Monsters are big as your fear of them, so you must be strong and face them up front. You can win over them sweetie" is her catchphrase to him.

FRIENDS

He does have a some -muggle- friends, but he can't tell any of them why suddenly he went to study in a boarding school. So yeah, give him some wizard friends maybe? xD

OTHERS

He really doesn't know anyone in the Wizard World. Oh. He probably will have a syncope when he gets to know that Merlin and Morgana Le Fay were real.
A new adventure:

ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO HOGWARTS? Oh yes! I still can't believe it's real. I mean, I'm a wizard?! That's so cool!

WHICH HOUSE DO YOU WANT TO GET INTO? Ugh... House?

IS THERE A HOUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN?  -keeps the 'whut?' face-

WHICH CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO? That one with Magical Creatures! -eyes shine- Oh! And the Spell and charms class too! (he only knows more or less what he will study because of the name of the books)

WILL YOU BE TRYING OUT FOR QUIDDITCH? ... What IS Quidditch?

ARE YOU BRINGING A PET? Oh yes! This is Cerid!   -lifts a blue-eyed white cat- She's named after a goddess!

ANY THOUGHTS ON HE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED OR HIS FOLLOWERS? Uh... Who-what? 'Don't know what this is about, but this don't sounds good to me. Oh no.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD? Ugh... Let's be friends? I mean, I would love to make friends! -whisper 'I can be friends with wizards! That's so cool!'-
Any last words:

COMMENTS: "That's so cool!" is basically his catchphrase, if you didn't notice. lol And he's the biggest nerd if you also didn't notice xD
SUGGESTIONS: I don't know? I can only think in begging to make him friends with Tonks or Charlie. Besides the rest of the cast. xD
PASSWORD: I kinda see him as a Hupplepuff?
