They say...

...that the He tempts you. A little dance around your soul to get you to do bad things, forbidden things. He'll justify it for you.

Now say you hate yourself.

You want it to end. You want to cease existence. You can't stop staring at the rooftops. Or at the kitchen knife. Or at the lines of rope that dangles everywhere.

Between your feet.

In your hands.

Against the wall.

And He'll say the things you know will come. You know those words down to the last letter. Yet when the thoughts flood you don't know if it's Him or yourself. You just know...

Your friends benefit from your absence (no annoyances).

Your family becomes unburdened (funds to the more important child).

You won't bother those strangers anymore (the world continues anyway).

Your enemies will know peace and lay down their arms (feast on your grounds).

Except you know the voices that tell you differently. They'll say you're important. You shouldn't. They need you. It's stupid to throw your life away.

But what if they're wrong?

What if He's right?

They say He's wrong.

Sure.

But how do I know myself from Him?
