hurricane harvey

hi! its ama! hope you're all doing well..!

i just caught myself up on hurricane harvey today and its not so much as my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone and anything that has/had to get hit by this tragedy, but rather the acts of heroism during it as well.

this video had me in tears.. i find it truly inspirational to see people come together like this despite all of the terrible things going on around them. its just so amazing how everyone will drop their feuds, their grudges, and their hatred for one another and protect those around them. with that i want to say thank you to the police, the rescue teams, and all of the civilians who made sure the people around them were safe.

stay updated!

now this is honestly just me going off of the top of my head, so if im wrong, by all means correct me. either way, its important we stay up to date (esp those in the southern u.s area).

hurricane harvey has been slower, somewhere around like.. 5mph.. or 8mph.. which means it was in the houston area for i think.. 2days? maybe longer im not entirely sure. i heard currently, it is heading, or has already hit southern lousianna and is gradually moving out of texas.

this hurricane was said to be a category 3, but ended up being a c4.

im not entirely sure about the tornados.. i wanna say they were f2's.. id have to look up the windspeeds but i heard they were somewhere inbetween 110-130mph. either way, they are pretty severe tornados.

the flooding in some places are just beneath freeway bridges (enough to drown a semi-truck), and the current state civilians (in the eye of the storm) are 'trapped.' no one can get in or out of their cities.

and the last i heard the death toll was at like.. 30 or something but that was like... yesterday...

thats really all i can think of now, i hear it is coming to an end, but now civilians are in need of emergency kits of everyday things like soap, toilet paper, tooth brushes, snacks, dry foods, canned goods, etc... so if you are in any position to donate, im sure your kindness will be appreciated greatly..!

ALSO

minnesota is experiencing their fair share of trauma too: wildfires.
i havent done much research about them yet since i recently heard about it, but if you are in that area, please have some sort of escape/safety plan to resort to..

i also find this pretty cute: harvey the hurricane hawk! a taxi driver found an injured hawk from the hurricane in his car that was too afraid to leave, so he took it in his home and afterwards sent it to experts.

so thats all for now.. i hope everyone who has been impacted by this tragedy is safe and sound.. please keep look out for the ones around you. and again i want to thank everyone who has suffered from this for their true acts of heroism. stay strong!

Thank you for that, everyone in houston is feeling a lot of love. Some of my friends got evacuated by thank god that we only had less than knee high water or else it would have started to flood our house. I have to go to church because they're doing a drive for that and the streets where we are is dry, so that's why. But thank you for all that love *hUGueS*

Right! My sister is all about keeping up to date with hurricanes. Dad says we might have to evacuate. So he'll start booking early ;D
