no longer writing on AFF
Not that anyone really seems to care anymore.
While I do not write for the approval of others, feedback and the people who read what writer's write is a big part of the task. I love writing, yes, but there's less fulfillment from writing when no one reads, no one leaves feedback, no one acts like they care.
It's so obvious AFF is dying out. It's becoming a place for silent readers and the writers, oddly enough, are the one's losing their place here. But, news for all of those silent readers: when you stop seeing fics about who you read about and all that's left is what was there before, just know that it's because feedback is a writer's (especially those on a social site like this) greatest motivation and when we stop receiving it, we stop wanting to share what we write.
And thus, the new works stop coming, more and more fics stop getting finished and more and more writer's leave and lose passion for one of the things they used to love doing so much.
I don't know if I'm going to write anywhere else yet. I've posted the prologue to my Seventeen fic on Wattpad, and I've been posting chapters for The 7th Sense on AO3 pretty much since I first started posting the fic period. But, as to whether or not I'll write more on those sites, or move ongoing fics from here onto there isn't 100% yet.
I love AFF and don't want to leave, but would you want to stay in a place where there are clearly people looking and seeing what you're doing, but no one is saying anything about it? Wouldn't that be frustrating? You work so hard on something, but it feels like it's worthless.
Sigh...
Sorry for being so dramatic, but it's just... sad.
Links to my Wattpad and AO3 are below, if you care to read. I'll probably start updating there before I do here, now, if I post here at all. This is basically an annoucement of a semi-hiatus here on AFF, unless people somehow magically decide to start giving feedback, both positive and negative, that writer's on here deserve.
And that's it...
