You can advertise them on other people's walls but not everyone likes that. Also there's some kind of schedule where you pay karma points for a special day in the month and if you pay the most your story gets advertised on the site.

There's two ways.

(1) AFF holds a promoted advertise. That's the blue box found on the main front page or most places you go. If you click on "advertise" it takes you to a calendar. You can pick which day you would like to advertise . This will probably use the most karma points. You will have to keep bidding until you win a day. Once you win, you get to advertise for a day.

(2) There are advertising shops. You can easily search these up by tag, specifically "advertise", or something along those lines. In each school they have their own rules and packages that you can purchase by karma points and they will help you advertise.
