I am obviously late to the hype, but I just finished watching it! Except for the final episode because it takes them an hour to announce the members, so Googling Wanna One is much faster. I've seen many people post their rants about the chosen members, so I won't do that. Insteadc who is your Wanna One bias? Or any of the eliminated trainees you supported? For me, I really like Jonghyun, Sewoon, and JAEHWAN!!! This is actually gonna be a Kim Jaehwan appreciation post.

REASONS WHY I ADORE KIM JAEHWAN (and you might too)

1. He is musically talented
Aside from his sultry honey-like voice as we have seen in the Sorry Sorry performance, he is a very skilled musician. It is super hard fingerpick the melody on a guitar, while talking, and still maintain a proper tempo. But he did just did! He can also play some kind of flute, which I don't know the name of. But you need to have good breathing techniques to play proper woodwind instrument. (And I am totally bias, but I admire guys who can play guitar).



2. His laughter is contagious
There's even a compilation video of it. But once you hear his ridiculous laughter, it's really reaally hard not to laugh along. When you're feeling sad, just come back to this video. I think he just beat Dongwoo's Kyakyakya laughter... XD OMG, you have to search for Jaehwan's laughter on YouTube, these are hillarious.

 

3. He is a bit of a psycho
As stated by Minhyun in that video above. With a laughter like that, he would pull of the role of Joker pretty well. But also... his intepretation of the "killing part" became quite literal... And as someone who loves to write mystery thriller stories, his character is very appealing this way~ hehehe (CLICK HERE)

4. He knows he's good
Sometimes he has that kind of cockiness/arrogance like Woohyun does. Lol.. Like whenever they ask him to demonstrate how he would've sung Super Hot's killing part, he did it with such confidence like "yeah, I know I can do this well" or at least, that's how I intepreted it. 

5. But he's still embarrassed
He was teasing Sewoon about his dancing, and then HIS dance video appeared and LOLLLLL Look at his reaction!!! Look how embarrassed he is to the point he can only laughhhh (Refer to point #2) It's soo adorable! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

6. He is hardworking
In the video letter from his parents (@3:04), his father was honestly saying how he couldn't sleep when jaehwan wanted to join, or how his heart broke whenever Jaehwan went out since the dawn. He mentions Jaehwan couldn't even dance. But we see him perform the choreographies so well in his performances, showing his dedication and hard work to practice being an idol instead of just singing and playing guitar. He knows what he wants and he works hard to get it.

7. He doesn't give up
Did you know he had joined a lot of music programs before? He was on Korea's Got Talent 2, but got rejected by two out of three judges. He looked so hard broken by then, but humbly accepted their decision. Many people in his position would accept rejection as failure, and to view it as being talentless. However, Jaehwan keep striving. He keeps improving. If you listen to his old auditions, you can tell his singing technique reaaaaally improved, and he knows how to utilize his voice well. From the guy who was countlessly rejected, he eventually became Wanna One's main vocal. He is living proof that hard work will pay off some day, and will therefore continue to inspire me. I hope he can inspire many others as well. I hope he can find a good entertainment who will take his talent so he can properly debut too (Maybe SM, as he wished XD)

So... Even though MNET is boycotting a lot of promotional activities and is totally monopolizing the trainees, I will still support Wanna One because Jaehwan is there~ He totally deserves it after everything he went through! Whoever your bias is, please show more love to Jaehwan too~ <333 (I love the other members too, but when I'm biased, I am very biased indeed. XD)

(Plus, does anyone think he kinda sounds like Baekhyun when he talks?)
