Do I have a "Bias Archetype"? #kpopdiscourse
LETS START THIS DISCOURSE.
Where 1). unusual angle 2). random discussion 3). honest opinion happens
Ok so long ago, I said to myself "lmao the new produce 101 looks like a major trainwreck. I'll never watch THAT storm."
But here I am. Right in the middle of the storm. Like, right in the eye of God. I can see a cow flying. Send help.
And out of all the trainees, I am finding myself feeling furiously (and by furious I really do mean I will fight you if you try to harm him via your bull youtube comments) protective over YGK+'s Kwon Hyunbin (lovingly dubbed as hackfraud by me). I mean I like Daniel (hMMMMM yes) and basically the entire Sorry Sorry team 2 members (I'm sorry if this makes no sense to you but please bear with me for a bit), but none of them have occupied a place in my heart as highly as him. Which I know will only lead to sadness and heartache because tbh he's not gonna make it to the top 11 #riphyunbin (
But liking him cemented everything.
Which leads to the answer for the question up there: Yes. My biases do fit in a specific archetype (at least my opinion of their position in their group have similarities between one and the other)
"What is it tho?"
Well, I like the talentless hack in the group. LMAO NO jk I'm sorry I mean those that doesn't necessarily have a definitive 'main' role in the Holy Trinity of Kpop groups: Singing, Dancing, Rapping. (and will often branch to things like Variety, Acting, etc) Like, jack of all trade, master of none (which is often better than a master of one but well... not in this scene HAH).
Some major example:
1. Sungmin from Super Junior (he's literally a jack of all trade like give him a skill and he'll sop it up so quickly like the dryest biscuit)
2. Jin from BTS (add to that the instances of "where's your line in this song?" "Look beneath Jimin's")
Those are the major ones...
In some cases, there's another more specific trait that I'll latch on to, even if said member is a 'main' in the group, and that is: A member that's often overlooked (either by the song itself, ie., only given such tiny parts in it) or by fans (ie., not too popular)
And so I realize... it's just my caring (maternal?) instinct kicking in and me wanting to PROTECT MY JELLY BEANS FROM HARSH WORDS THAT PEOPLE MIGHT SAY. (only I can make fun of them not getting parts in a song. if anyone else does it then they're dead)
idk if this is 'white knight' syndrome (oh god I hope not) (i'd rather call it maternal instinct) but yes I am drawn to the set aside and forgotten and like if nobody likes you I will.
Unless you did something real stupid that warrant all the hate because if that's the case, I'm out lmao no stanning #problematicpeople (although it needs to be VERY severe to my standards for me to do so, because I'm quite tolerant with mistakes as we humans are stupid as and hey we make blunders once in a while).
Do YOU have a bias archetype??? Discuss.
Btw anyone else watching broduce101? I need someone to just vent all my feelings about the show please help
