sephy was born in santorini, greece in 1995 to a greek father and korean mother. Her parents had met when her father, a writer for travel books, spent 6 months in south korea, travelling between the provences. her mother fell in love with her fathers sense of adventure and possibility and after his 9 months in south korea were up, she decided to travel with him.

sephy grew up across the world, never stopping too long in one place. she was moved from school to school throughout her childhood for her parent's work, meaning her life was not exactly stable. as soon as she'd started to set roots in a place, she be moving to another country for the start of a new book. One thing is for sure, she was never short of penpals. She would have been bitter about the instability were it not for the music. For sephy, music to her was like sunlight. everywhere she went, there was new music to listen to and new dances to learn and through that she discovered her love of dancing. her parents indulged her love for music and allowed her to choose one instrument to carry with her (with all the travelling, sephy wasn't able to have a lot of possessions).
Sephy spent her teens as part of the kaligaris team, exploring the furthest corners of the world while struggling with the pressures of burdening womanhood. penpals a many, sephy had no friends to confide in when she experienced important milestones or locked eyes with the cute boy at the varadero street market in cuba. were it not for her music, sephy felt she would have gone mad. she was a woman of the world and yet felt she had no home, except for inside her music.
when sephy turned 18, she no longer wanted to travel with her parents. she loved her parents and knew how blessed she was to have seen so much of the world but she wanted to make her own name and decided that getting a degree was the first step. promising to write to her parents every week, sephy moved to seoul and lived on her university campus, not too far away from her grandparents. Her degree was easily funded by the money her family had made on writing travel books. she settled into university well and made a few friends along the way. Knowing that she could easily climb on the family bandwagon, sephy chose to study geography and environmental sciences but her dream was to be a musician. For giggles, sephy and some of her friends decided to audition for an agengy. her dance performance, a combination of all the dances she had learnt while travelling, got her accepted.

alekos gave his daughter everything a child ever dreams of: adventure. very well educated and a little bit of a know it all at times, alekos always had something to teach sephy, helping her become so openminded. alekos was stern but fair, helping sephy to learn from her mistakes rather than punishing her for making them. sephy's fondest memories of him are a night they spent in egypt at a festival.
Sephy neglects to tell her father what happened to her because she hasn't yet come to terms with what happened to her. she manages to escape his curiosity as he is constantly travelling and she can pretend that all the letters she send just get lost.

BACKGROUND throughout her child hood, minseo was sephy's best friend. every child is close to their mother, but as they moved a lot. minseo was the only constant female she could look up to. while she couldn't/wouldn't talk to her mother about every, minseo provided her with the best example of a strong woman. minseo raised sephy with a firm hand, making sure her grades didn't slip while they travelled but was also the first to sign her daughter up for skydiving and swimming with sharks.
just like with her father, sephy has yet to tell her mother what has happened to her. sephy knows that the knowledge of what has happened to her will destroy her m other who would hate herself for not being able to protect her and sephy cannot deal with the idea of hurting her.

when the chimera takes over, sephy is able to create, use and abuse dark energy, pulling it out of the thin air. it can be manipulated into a concussive blasts that when used offensively can be used to knock people away or when focused with extreme aggression blast limbs off.

The chimera feeds on the pain of others so what better way than to possess them and take away their will to live. while the chimera can possess multiple hosts to utilise the information in their head or their physical skills, it prefers to kill its enemies from the inside, either setting them on each other or tearing them apart from the inside. the chimera revels in a little (a lot) of bloodshed. and by tearing them apart from the inside, i mean nothing left. the chimera destroys people on a molecular level, making sure there's nothing left.
gravity manipulation
the chimera isn't weighed down by something so trivial as gravity. she uses it to perform acts like balancing on the hood of a speeding car or walk on the ceiling. a seemingly passive power in comparison to the other two, this power is nonetheless extremely useful.
the chimera would be the perfect weapon if not for one thing, with sephy unable to accept what really happened to her and her friends, the chimera is unable to reach its full potential, meaning that when it is unleased sephy experiences a black out. as sephy is in such great denial about what happened to her, the chimera is rarely able to take control and will only emerge when faced with a genuine threat to her life. as the chimera is only able to gain limited control (for now) it works in the shadows and shields itself from the eyes of her group for fear of annihalation (sephy's fear of being cast out of the group or rejected is translated to the chimera only fighting in the shadows)
having been created out of immense pain, the chimera is a part of her that she dispells and therefore cannot control. It is only after accepting her history that sephy and the chimera can form a single conciousness.
background
what did the character went through turning into an inhuman?
sephy was strapped down for most of her experiments because she was such a fighter. the first time they tested her, she bit a chunk of out a guys neck. shackled from her head to her feet, sephy couldn't move as her body was cut and injected and tortured. one day when she broke a wrist restraint, she opened her neck restraint and saw the flesh from her chest peeled away and tubes connected to her various organs. she struggled harder when the restraints were put back on.
eventually sephy suffered what can loosely be called a psychotic break when needles were forced into her eyes and spine. it was as if her soul left her body. when sephy's conciousness broke, the chimera was born. sephy remembers losing conciousness but not the rest. this was the first instance that the chimera took over. her eyes went black and yeonji witnessed the power of the chimera for the first time. Yeonji was able to watch as black tendrils swarmed out of sephy's body and consumed the scientists around her, tearing their bodies apart. sephy's body had become free from the retraints and the tendrils had formed a protective cucoon around her.
the chimera is a powerful alter ego of sephy. when in danger, the chimera takes over and sephy disappears. the transition can be observed by the ring of fire that spreads from her pupil and her eyes turn black. for sephy, this is a blackout and she has no control over the actions of the chimera. sephy believes that she has no powers and uses her sarcasm and a hammer to protect herself and that the blackouts are signs of her losing her mind.
what really created the chimera is a mystery; was it something that yeonji did or was the chimera born out of sephy's insanity? as time goes on, sephy will be able to become the chimera willing and control her, but for now, its russian roulette.
