35 Questions for Writers

I has been tagged! =D I feel special.

1. How did you come up with your user name and what does it mean?

Zan was the name of a stuffed toy I had when I was a lil kid. It's always stuck with me for some reason. (I loved that stuffed puppy. My baby Zan was so freaking cute. ;_;)

2. Which is your most subscribed to story?

Creatures of the Seas.

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

BECAUSE SUHO NEEDS MORE LOVE AND THAT GIF BLESSES ME. (But yeah, show some love for him, guys. He's a percious dumpling.)

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

Oh lord, well, the people I talk to frequently are -roselynn- and Askyourdad-DO. But there are others who I enjoy talking to, too! I'm here to spread love man. B)

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Deer Luhan with Love and The Blood Brother Code by Korekrypta, Pretty Boy (I'm Nobody) by JungMichan and currently I've been obsessed with "Yes, Ma'am!" by amber_rose.

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

943... sh*t. I probably haven't even read half of 'em. OTL

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

Considering both of my stories involve magic and Exo, I'll say the Mama! au. It's really bad, but I love writing fantasy so much. Ugh.

8. How many friends do you have?

89

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

I've always enjoyed gore and dark themes, as well as insane protagonists. So I'd love to write something insanely ed up basically.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on aff? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

Graphic design, coding and writing. ;-;

11. How many subscribers do you have?

Unique subs: 477   Total: 550

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

On AFF, six, two of which are public.

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

TOO MANY DUDE. XD I need to stop thinking of new ideas and finish my ongoing stories. Honestly.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

Most of the time I'll keep them in my head, then if it continues to bother me, I'll start writing and see if what I wrote is interesting. If it's good enough, then I'll start outlining.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Yep. I co-authored my friend's story Escapin' Tyranny, but it was only to edit grammar.

16. How did you discover AFF?

I was a thirsty Exo fan who wanted some Baekhyun fanfics and found this website where I embraced my inner trashines. :,)

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

Me? Popular? Famous? You're funny.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

Whenever people would subscribe or comment on my stories, I used to go "Yas mah b*tches, yas" or "I got more hoes today!" (don't judge me), and yes, these are meant to be endearing, loving nicknames.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

The answer will always be Korekrypta. (mai senpai)

20. How many karma points do you have?

2,483.

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Always outline your stories. A little planning really helps prevent plot holes and overall, creates a better plot and characters. Also, don't post a story and expect praise and feedback immediately because it doesn't always work out like that. Sometimes you go into something and have to wait ten chapters for your first comment. And you know what? That's alright. Just remember that there will always be people who are going to enjoy your stuff and that you should be writing because you enjoy it and not because you're expecting something in return.

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

For my story Defying the Storm, I initially started figuring things out as I went. It was really bad. Like, I had future scenes in mind but I was constantly paranoid I was going to create plot holes, so I created an outline (but even then, it's pretty general, but it's easier to write knowing how everything will end and key events.). For Creatures of the Seas, I created an entire outline going over the main events in the story, and while I was writing, I added lots more. So for the most part, I do both. I do bits of planning but I also allow myself to write and figure things out as I continue.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

No, I don't think so.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

While I love action scenes, they drain the life outta me. I'm also not that good at fluff. ;_;

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

Defying the Storm and Creatures of the Seas, although COTS is my main priority.

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

I was planning another project but it's been on hold for a couple of months, which is sad because I worked really hard on it. ;_;

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

No, which is why my updates are all over the place. I write when I'm not being a lazy arse and have the time.

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

I cry when I read what I wrote in 2015. :,) Now things are less painful, but my writing is much more flowery now, I guess you could say, so I have to edit. A lot. :,,,)

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

You can't make me choose between my children, man, that's just cold. -_-

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

The ones that are on draft mode. :,)

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Still making fanfics and staying home like a bum. :,)

32. How many upvotes do you have?

47

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Nothing.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Everything.

35. Why do you write?

Despite everything being hard, I actually enjoy it, believe it or not. :,)
