35 Questions to AFF Authors (stolen from shin-oppa)

--- stolen from shin-oppa; tagging MinnieCrafts, mei-baek, vanillasushi, sicaday21, aleric & d-tsuga.

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

My first username was a disaster so I wanted something new, mysterious and kind of Tumblr-like? I was in class and I was bored out of my mind so I just wrote down random words that somehow appealed to me and I then went for -hypnotized. It stayed with me ever since. I've thought about changing it a couple of times but in the end, I stayed with this one.

2. Which is your most subscribed to, story?

The HeartBreaker aka my first chaptered story that was written back in 2013-2014. I wanted to delete it but a lot of my readers really like it and it's thanks to this story that I've built up my "fanbase" on this website. It has a sentimental value, in a way. The things I do for my readers. /sigh

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

I change my DP pretty often. Usually picking between my Holy Trinity (Baekhyun, Sehun, and Jongdae). Though, I did pick other idols as well, such as Jaehyun, Taeyong, and Vernon. But I usually stay loyal to my three baes. And since pink is such a nice colour, I've scouted (aka I just Googled search) gifs in which Jongdae, Sehun, and Baekhyun would be wearing pink and I found this one. Unfortunately, Sehunnie is not in it. :(

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

My AFF besties would be people I talk to on a rather frequent basis, so even if you don't consider me as your AFF bestie, I consider you as mine because I LOOOOOVEEE YOU ALLL

- Abby but she's not on AFF anymore (miss you, Mama Bee)
- Judy aka my favourite ice cream tub aka JACQUELINE
- Mei // Gertrude // my favourite maknae with a bitter granny soul
- Cara(mel) ;; that was such a bad pun
- JESSICA, MY SOULMATE. ;)))))
- Lara, I love you too<3
- ALERIQUE, you're stuck with me forever and pls stop bullying me :*
- DEEDEE, my deejay olive oil.
- Aaliyah because duh

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

I usually go back to the stories written in like 2013-2015. Those were the best years on AFF T^T

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

313. Some of them are stories, some of them are shops/threads.

7. What AU do you find yourself writing about most?

All of them are rather different but I think I would definitely write another supernaturalAU or fantasyAU.

8. How many friends do you have?

506

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

I WANNA TRY WRITING .
No, not really. :-))))))

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on AFF? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

Definitely updating regularly. I remember being able to update or even double update every day when I used to be in high school. But after getting into college, I feel like everything has taken a toll on me and I just ignore writing even though it's one of my favourite hobbies.

I also want to improve on my graphic designing skills. Seeing all my graphic designers' friends' portfolios make me cry at how pretty they are.
(teach me, senpais (i can already see them cringing at my words ha.))

Maybe coding? I've been so lazy and uninspired lately. But also because other designers' layouts are so amazing and beautiful that I need to use them to show them off to the AFF community (/coughs dee, alec /coughs).

11. How many subscribers do you have?

12445 unique subs, 18472 in total and 2191 co-author subs!

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

I'm too lazy to count because some of them are transferred to my backup account (aka the ones that I loathe to death). But maybe around 20?

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

Too many. I have a lot of stories that I've been working on for a while but didn't publish because I wanted to complete the ones that are already published first.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I always write down my ideas and maybe a few chapters to not lose the plot. Knowing myself and my short term memory, I always have to write it down. Either on my phone, laptop or notebook.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Yesssss, I love co-authoring. I don't really believe in the whole "our writing styles is too different" BS because as long as you can make your ideas work, I think everything is fine. Also if the other person can commit as well.
I'm actually co-authoring a story with one of my best friends here (JUDY AKA JACQUELINE). The name is Cold Deck, and it's a mystery/thriller/horror SO KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND MAKE SURE TO CLICK THAT "FOLLOW STORIES" BUTTON ON MY PROFILE #ShamelessAdvertising

16. How did you discover AFF?

Instagram.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

Nah.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

Nope.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

Not really. Most of my friends are usually designers and coders and I'm that loner in the group :-)
Just kidding.
But I've made new friends that I talk to on a daily basis, and we just encourage each other to write
(e.g. MEI WHEN WE DECIDED TO JOIN CARA'S CONTEST AND WE WERE LIKE WTF ARE WE DOING LOL and Jessica, when we were struggling to finish our one-shots for the contest as well. The struggle was real.)

20. How many karma points do you have?

I'm a broke aF college student.

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

I'm going to quote Lara on this because what she said is so true.

"Write and read. Authors that write but do not read will never reach their full potential. Authors that get lost in reading and forget to write will never get better. The more you practice something, the better you’ll be at it, with or without guidance. Also, if you need to take a break, do it. If you need to step away from a story, do it. And always, and I mean always, write for yourself."

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

Depends, tbh. Before writing a story, I at least need to know how am I going to start the story and how am I going to end the story. There are a lot of other factors as well. But most of the time, I try to plan out my chapters so that I won't get any writer's block and that it'll also give me a sense of direction. But planning it out never restricted me of my creativity. If there's something that just randomly popped up in my head, which happens all the time, I always write it down. There's always time to edit, in the end.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

I consider all of my comments as good comments, never bad. Unless someone says something completely irrelevant and that's when I just go- :-)
NAH. I always take criticism well. Unless the comment is filled with bad words. Now, that is just disrespectful.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

Mhm, I've never tried writing before (but Jessica thinks I have potential #pls). Otherwise, I think that super romantic and fluffy scenes are rather hard to write? I always base off scenes from my own personal experience (except for action - I need references for that) so my lack of romantic experience does get in my way /sigh

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

You're my Wonderwall, Dusk (FML, these two are stories from back 2014. But then again, I've started rewriting Dusk, so I guess that doesn't really count?), What a Man, and other random one-shots that I've promised to my readers as a Christmas gift (oops).

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

ALL THE ING TIME. :-))))))))

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

Nope. Except for Camp NaNoWriMo (Judy, we're screwed LMAO)

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

Definitely. I cringe less when I read my most recent fics.

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

Definitely Covered by Your Grace. It's a one-shot that I've poured my heart and soul into and hoped that it's a story that's going to make other people cry or at least, close to it, and in the end, some of them did cry :-) #goalachieved
I've had so much fun writing that story since it's a mix of all the genres I love writing and am comfortable with.

Otherwise, as for chaptered stories, it's definitely You're my Wonderwall & Dusk. Both of these two are polar opposites in terms of genres, and it's always nice being able to switch from one genre to another and write something completely different from one and other.

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

Uhh, Midnight Circus. Although it did win 3rd place in a writing contest. I thought that it was rather bland and boring (I don't even know why it even won) and there's so much more that could've been improved. But that was back in 2014 and my writing back then was rather childish and dull.

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Still writing for fun, not so sure if I'm going to become a professional writer though.

32. How many upvotes do you have?

1103.

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Being able to play around with your creativity and you know, just write for the heck of it. Having fun with it, as much as you can.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

And I'm going to quote Lara once again.

"Everything (people who say writing is easy have no idea what they’re talking about)"

35. Why do you write?

I write because it's fun and I love writing even though sometimes it's frustrating having writer's blocks. But I like to think that having writer's block is simply because you like writing and you know that you can't possibly write bull, which is why you force yourself to think and write something better.
(Did that even make sense, idk).

I had a feeling you were quite popular but- dayum! You have an extensive, legitimate following haha. It's because I'm not really a fanfic reader on here, if I was I would've probably recognised it sooner. Congratulations on what you've achieved so far, Queens. Well deserved.

And yes, I can't escape you now. Friendship is too far in... (MIRACULOUS)ly /*finger guns/.
And no—you're too fun to tease. Bye.

P.S.
May, woman.
