Broken ankle or nah?

Is essentially what the doctors have been arguing about today.

So! The story is, on sunday I completely rolled my ankle, all the way over. Pretty painful that day, but it's been getting better every day since then. Monday I go to the doctor because my ankle is hurting even when I'm not putting weight on it or moving it, which isn't typical for a sprain. They take x-rays, and the doctor says that while I have a weird distal fibula, (the far end of the skinnier of the two long bones in your calf) my ankle isn't broken.

Then, this morning, the radiology report comes back, and says my lateral melleolus is broken into 3-4 different fragments, but I missed the phone call and heard it later from the nurse at my regular doctor.

When I go back to the emergency clinic after uni to check what's going on, they essentially say that while they've read the radiology report, my ankle looks so strange that they can't really tell whether it's broken or not. Now I have to try and smooch my way into an urgent appointment with the orthopedic surgeon who has done all my six surgeries on my other ankle and has known me since I was 13, because next week I have clinic rotation where I'll be on my feet for a minimum of 10 hours a day, five days in a row. Therefore if my ankle is broken, I kinda need to know, ya know?

If only my bones looked more normal, urgh.
