soorae, in general, is a very lovable person. she's warm in the sense that she's kindness as a whole; friendly, caring, supportive, generally nice to everyone around her. far from materialistic, she's selfless and finds joy in every little thing. she refrains herself from judging other people and would always try her best to be a good person, which sometimes hurts her in the long run. she's a very chill and calm person, however, she's unintentionally funny. rather than overdoing jokes or facial reaction, soorae is naturally witty and spontaneous and has a gift for making people laugh. she enjoys having fun and all around a bright, carefree person.

she's creative; her mind tends to work outside of the box. she's not exactly the smartest in terms of academics but she surely knows how to be innovative and resourceful, the way she thinks compared to others' is sometimes amazing that people would think she's unhuman. her creativity can be seen in her lyrics and songs, and from her reputation on variety shows. she's also a girl full of passion in her heart; she's hardworking and knows how to sort out her priorities in order for her to achieve her goals.

the weakness in this is that she gives up easily. she's very negative; she often overthinks the worst and ends up tormenting herself. she constantly says "i can't" when she actually can, but her spirit is so fragile and so easy to break, which is why she needs a lot of support and motivation. she tends to doubt people's feelings for her, like "does she really think of me as a best friend?" "does jay really think i'm a good rapper?" "do my parents not think that i'm a failure?" and she questions herself too, "do i deserve to be in the music industry?" "should i get plastic surgery?". she's very insecure as well, finding herself uglier and less talented than everybody else and never seeing what's the best in her. she has a hard time making decisions thanks to her overthinking habit, hence, she often has to seek at least five other different opinions before she can finally decide, which is very troublesome and time-consuming.

soorae is also passive-aggressive. she has a bad habit of swallowing her pain and not telling anyone, instead showing her dissatisfaction through her actions. though she wouldn't ever mean to hurt anyone, she does it without realising as she isn't able to confront people face-to-face. all the negativity is pent up in her and she releases it by ignoring other people or disregarding them. she doesn't get mad for long, however, she does hold grudges and though she forgives, she'll never forget.

she was a tomboy when she was younger and some of the boyishness has remained with her until today. she's far from feminine, but she doesn't care about it, she simply enjoys being herself. she might be looked down upon, especially by conservative elders, but meh – she'll sit with her legs spread open if she wants to, thank you very much. she at acting cute but her natural cuteness beats all. also, she's very clumsy; she breaks nearly everything she touches and trips on air, so please, take very good care of her.

born in daegu to a happy, financially stable and close-knitted family, soorae is the youngest out of three and is the only daughter. growing up with two rough older brothers explains her past as a tomboy: she used to only have short hair and all her clothes were hand-me-downs from her brothers. as a child, soorae was a favourite in her extended family among all her cousins. she was a talkative, happy and friendly kid that could get along well with anyone.

as a schoolkid, soorae was popular among her friends, but not exactly in a good way. very few actually appreciated her for who she was – most took advantage of her kindness and silence. anybody could say anything to her and she wouldn't fight back, that's what people loved. if they were mad at someone else but didn't have the guts to confront them, they'd lash out on soorae instead. or if they were in a bad mood and wanted everybody to have a ty day too, soorae would be the first to be treated harshly. it was like everyone assumed she didn't have feelings and wouldn't get hurt. people joked about and , even about the things she's most insecure, yet they never stopped because it was her fault after all. she never spoke up for herself. she was a coward.

she got her escape at thirteen years old when her dad got a job in los angeles, california, where they were to stay there for two years. (that was when her oldest brother met his now wife) in los angeles was where her love for music grew. she had seen a street rap battle while on her way to dinner one night and from then on, there was a newfound love within her for music, particularly rap. she started listening to hip-hop songs and attempted a few childish verses of her own, keeping them all in a notebook. when she voiced out her dream to her family of becoming a rapper, they didn't object. they were more than happy that their daughter had an ambition.

they returned to south korea when she was fifteen and almost immediately after getting home, she started getting involved in daegu's underground rap scene where she performed various gigs and battles under the name 'haruhi', which she got from a popular anime her second brother always watched. it was at twenty-one when she left daegu, moved out to seoul and decided to try out for the mainstream; she tried appealing to the public by various methods, yet none seemed to work. she auditioned for five different companies but something happened each time that caused her to mess up her audition. she created her own music and posted them on her soundcloud – her tracks were bomb but she didn't get the attention she had hoped for. she barely had any loyal listeners and it didn't take long for her to give up. returning to the underground would be embarrassing, so she chose to drop music as a whole. while thinking about what career path she should take after getting heartbroken by music, she landed a job in a nearby convenience store, just making enough money to survive without depending on her family. living with her brother and sister-in-law burdened them enough, so she thought she could at least use her own money to buy food and her other necessities (though she didn't know that her brother secretly slipped extra allowance into her savings jar every now and then).

as she worked at night, there wouldn't be many people coming in so rather than playing the mainstream k-pop songs that were frequently on the radio, she'd blast her own songs through the whole store. she might have flopped, but she didn't want her songs to go to waste either. so on one night, a customer walked up to her and as she scanned his items, he surprised her by asking, "excuse me, but do you know what song this is?"

startled, soorae hesitated to answer. she then shyly admitted it was her own song and that was when gray offered her a spot in aomg.

• she's a great help in composing, writing and producing their songs; rather than being credited with "ray" or "soorae", she is credited as "haruhi", so fans don't know that she helped in making the baddies' songs.

• she has a good singing voice as she also sang for her soundcloud while her potential in dancing is just a god's given gift. she's the jack-of-all-trades of the baddies.

• BTS' Rap Monster in a Relationship with an AOMG Trainee? published early-2017.

just a few weeks shy of their debut, namjoon and soorae went out for a drink and were unknowingly watched by paps. some of the paps recognised her and hence, the scandal. although at first horrified of the consequences, the hate died off when bighit and aomg both denied the rumours and they just laughed about it afterwards.

• The Baddies' Ray was a Bully during Middle School? published early-2018.

some of her old schoolmates got jealous of her and started this just to see her newly grown career shake. they even provided "evidence", lessening soorae's chance of proving herself right. however, aomg strongly denied the rumours and threatened to sue the ones who started the scandal. soorae was quiet for weeks; she was greatly upset by this scandal and it seriously effected her.

• The Baddies Don't Need This One Particular Member published mid-2018.

only a few months after the previous scandal, this blew up next. soorae, despite being multitalented and having an admirable personality, is the most underrated member of the group. she's the least popular and receives the least attention. just because of her popularity, a disgusting k-pop news website posted this article, describing how the baddies could make do without soorae as she didn't hold "any importance" to the group, as they already had good rappers, dancers and vocalists. the article talked about how soorae was pretty much useless and the only thing she had was her variety skills. aomg, friends and fans all came to soorae's rescue, shielding her from antis; but the scandal still had a great, negative impact on soorae and she even considered leaving the group.

• The Baddies' Ray and Nam Joohyuk Rumoured to Be Dating published early-2019.

while out together on a date, they were unfortunately recognised, which led to the blow-up of the scandal. both aomg and yg stayed silent, leaving soorae and joohyuk to decide whether to confirm or deny the scandal.

• The Baddies' Ray and Nam Joohyuk Confirmed to Be in a Relationship published early-2019.

soorae may or may not be the first baddie to reveal her relationship publicly. at first she didn't want to, for she was afraid of the consequences, but with much assurance from joohyuk, she eventually agreed for their companies to confirm the scandals. thanks to joohyuk and the other baddies, she managed to force herself away from reading all the comments and continued living out her career as usual.

• The Baddies' Ray and Nam Joohyuk Confirmed to Have Broken Up published mid-2020.

heartbreakingly enough, they break up after around two years of dating. soorae was devastated, as well as joohyuk, but they believed it was for the better. fortunately amongst all the antis, their fans were very supportive and comforting and soorae was given time to heal.

relationships.  she's very close to her family and is affectionate towards them, as so they are to her, even her sister-in-law and her one-year-old nephew. her oldest brother (kyung minhyuk) is twenty-eight and both her parents are sixty years old; she acts like a baby with them and they, in return, spoil her greatly. meanwhile her second brother (kyung yookwon) is twenty-six and they have a playful love-hate relationship, but he's very protective over her and they're more like best friends rather than big brother-little sister.

soorae thinks of gray as her guardian angel. she feels like she owes her life to him as he pretty much saved her when he got her into aomg. she respects him greatly and looks up to him as someone she really admires; likewise, gray thinks of her as a little sister and is responsible to look after her. though gray isn't that good at expressing his emotions, you can see how much he cares about soorae through the way he often asks of her wellbeing and his excitement for her to debut.

they first met as middle schoolers. soorae's brother had brought her to visit seoul and during her stay, she attended an underground rap event in which namjoon had participated. they met personally; being of the same age and having common interests, they clicked instantly and have remained best friends for eight years, as of 2017. they share nearly everything with each other and are everybody's 'relationship goals'. they're the kind of best friends you'd expect to end up marrying each other when they're older. namjoon's kind of like a big brother to soorae; always watching over her and making sure she stays healthy. through his busy schedule, he always makes time for her. soorae is very supportive of namjoon and is pretty much his number one fangirl.

sungkyung is a really close friend of her brother minhyuk's from school. sungkyung has always thought of soorae as her own little sister, and sungkyung is the big sister soorae has always wanted (before she got her now sister-in-law). soorae relies on sungkyung and often seeks her for advice, especially on "girl stuff", while sungkyung cares deeply about soorae and will kill anyone who dares to hurt her. they're basically inseparable best friends with a four-year in between.
