jaesun tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "people often say that i'm a troublemaker, though. i've got a really bad temper; i get ticked off easily. and when i'm upset, i'll confront the problem head on. i'm a fighter and i really hate being wrong, so i'll keep the fight going until i have the last say. there has been a few occassions where the fight turned physical... bad, right?"
chuckling lowly, she continued. "i tend to get on my members and staff's nerves because i'm kinda rebellious. i'm hardheaded and follow my own heart, i do what i want and i only listen to other people when i want to. no wonder leader unnie and the managers have high blood pressure."
she hummed again, sticking her tongue out childishly. "i'm honest, too. i say everything as it is, even if it's hurtful. i think that lying will always make things worse. and i'm confident! i'm so confident that sometimes i wonder if i'm being conceited... i hope not."
jaesun drummed on the desk with her fingers. "by the way, as strong as i may seem, i'm pretty sensitive, which can be annoying sometimes. the smallest things people say can effect me for days! i guess i've been hurt too many times already? i don't know. i'm a weakling, i think. and i don't trust people easily, too. i'd always doubt if somebody really loved me, stuff like that. i mean, i don't think my unnies really love me, especially since i go against them all the time. it's my fault if they hate me, so..."
she bit her bottom lip before shaking her head. q: how was your childhood?
great, actually. i was a happy kid. i have a loving and close-knitted family; my father, my mother and my big brother. we weren't wealthy but we could afford our necessities and our wants. i lived in the countryside and i really enjoyed playing outdoors. according to my family, i showed an interest in singing from when i was just three, singing along to songs on the radio. that was when my dad knew i'd grow up to be a musician someday.
q: did you have a dark past?
honestly, yes, i did. in middle school, i was unintentionally bullied by my friends. it's just that they often made harsh jokes that hurt my feelings, but because i never said anything about it, they kept the jokes going even though i was extremely upset. i always took the blame whenever a friend fights with me, i was always the one to say sorry even if i didn't do anything. i guess this is why i'm very sensitive... there was one point in my life that i even got a consultation from a psychiatrist; i really hit rockbottom that time.
q: how did you get into music?
like i said, i started singing at three but my biggest passion was dancing. it started when i was just five. i was watching a hip-hop dance competition on tv and that was when i told my parents, "i wanna do that too!" so i signed up for dance lessons at that young age and the rest was history. but i only decided that i wanted to make dancing my living when i was eleven. it was after my first consultation with the psychiatrist, i music so loud in my room and just started dancing. at that moment, i decided that dancing is something i want to do for the rest of my life.
q: you are from gwangju. when did you come to seoul?
i came to seoul when i was sixteen in 2012. i chose to pursue my high school studies in sopa, a school for performing arts and i got in with auditioning for dance and vocals. i also continued attending a dance academy near my house. ah! i moved to seoul and lived with my brother, who goes to a university in seoul.

the bright, cheerful and friendly jaehyung is jaesun's big brother and the person she loves most, after her parents. in spite of the five-year , they are as close as siblings could be. they text daily and sometimes, when both have the time, have long talks on the phone. they see each other rarely, so hearing jaehyung's voice is the closest jaesun can be to home. jaehyung's very protective of his sister and spoils her like she's a little girl; she's not one to express her worries or sadness, but he can always tell when something's wrong.

trainee years 2013-2016.
trainee background jaesun performed with a group of her friends from her dance academy at a citywide talent show, where she didn't know a bighit rep was in the crowd. after her performance, she was approached by the rep who offered her an audition spot to be a trainee under bighit. she first told him she'd think about it, when deep down she didn't want to. only after seeing her parents' excitement when she told them about the offer did she decide to accept. she auditioned at bighit as a dancer (she danced to one of lia kim's choreographies) and also sung unfaithful by rihanna. she was accepted not long after that, about two months before bangtan's debut.
trainee lifestyle jaesun indeed was one of the more popular trainees thanks to her astounding talents as she excelled in dancing and her singing just needed more practice. she often exhausted herself, working maybe twice as hard as anyone else; she maintained her relationships well and kept two or three people as her best friends. it may be surprising but she had never thought of giving up as she had her mind entirely on debuting to make her family proud. it wasn't to say she had a debut confirmed, but everybody just knew that she'd make it.
