newer kpop?
am i the only one who just can't get into this newer generation of kpop? no offense, but a lot of these groups look like and sound like copies of each other, and a lot of these idols don't seem to be very talented, a lot seem to rely on looks. and then there's all of these things they have done in the past...you used to not constantly hear about stuff like scamming and bullying, those are just huge turn offs for me. you can have good music, but if you have a bad personality...no. there are a lot of good songs out there, but newer kpop just seems to be missing that feeling older songs and groups give off. not to mention that a lot of them simply ride off of the fame of their older labelmates. there's also the overhype with all of these groups like bts and twice. yeah, i get it, bts is talented but they're talked about way too much, it's like kpop revolves around them now. and twice? i'm sorry, they may be a bunch of cute girls, but being cute isn't a talent and they really aren't great at singing or anything special. it seems like they just ride on the fact that thet're pretty and under jyp. a lot of this made sound harsh, but it's really what i see and how i feel. i don't know, i'm just really starting to not be so interested in kpop, i really only care for artists that have been around for 5 years or more with the exception of some more recent songs.
