♛KINGDOM — MOON PRINCESS

replace with fc

WANG

JARIM

NICKNAMES:

✩ Wangja - Baekhyun and Chanyeol often call her with this nickname in joking manner. Wangja means a king's daughter, sometimes implying as someone who has a high and mighty personality, although she's clearly not that kind of person.
✩ Princess - The Ten Commanders, even Baekhyun and Chanyeol, call her with this honorific whenever they're in formal meetings. But on regular occasion, they call her by her name or some of them adding -ssi as formality.

ABILITIES:

✩ Telekinesis - she's able to move things with her mind. it's a very simple concept, but the execution is not really. interaction between mind and physical world is very complex and requires a very strong mental state. she's still learning to control it without having to pass out after pushing her limit. but telekinesis is definitely her most-developed ability among other.

✩ Regeneration - she can regenerate damaged cells, both hers and others'. but she cannot revive the dead. once the soul left one's body, nothing she could do to bring them alive.

✩ Telepathy - this is her most under-developed power. she rarely uses it, not only because the power physically harms her (using it makes her feel nauseous and dizzy and those strangers' voices in her head drive her crazy), she also finds it rude to intrude other people's mind. besides her control of this power is really weak and she's scared that she accidentally exposes the contain of her mind while reading others'.

APPEARANCE:

✩ Unlike his big sister, Jarim has a short stature and thin figure. She has long raven black hair that she always makes sure well-combed before she's going out from her room. Jarim has a sharp onyx eyes. She also has a pale complexion that sometimes makes her seem like a person who rarely goes out from the palace, which is not true.

FASHION:

✩ Jarim never makes a big fuss about what she wears. She accepts anything that the maids prepare for her. She'd rather minding about more important things like her training and her assigned duty for her people as a princess of the kingdom. She doesn't mind wearing dresses, she doesn't mind wearing those armors and heavy boots whenever she trains; as long she can do her part well, she doesn't mind anything.

Meet the dreamy princess from Land of Exo who has a keen hobby to sneak out from the palace and wander around the town. After receiving powers from the crystal gem, Jarim develops an ability to move things with her mind, reading and sending thoughts, and regenerating cells. She receives a rigorous training to master her newfound ability as she recieves pressure from the Elders to dethrone her sister from her rightful place as the successor of the kingdom.

be kind and have courage.

And don't ever lose. It's either you win or you learn.

PERSONALITY TRAITS:
+ mentally resilient, compassionate, courageous
- presumptuous, secretive, resentful
= reserved, curious, enigmatic
MBTI : INFP

PERSONALITY:

Jarim is a mentally resilient woman who bears the responsibility of enduring several hardships. While many worry for her safety, her strong determination prevents her from depending too much on them. Though described as one who doesn't display much emotion, she is passionate for guarding the safety of the people of her kingdom. She acts passively to her father's concerns and expresses filial respect for him by keeping true to her duties as a the princess of the kingdom. She's not cold nor cruel to other people; she's not necessarily silent either, but she does  talk less than most people, especially when she's in crowd. Jarim prefers one-on-one interaction anyway. She has full control of her emotions. She's still able to laugh, but she won't laugh hysterically. She's still able to be mad, but she won't explode; she'd rather click her tongue in irritated manner and send a condescending glare to the other party.

Jarim never likes to talk much about herself. She prefers to be the one who listens. Though her appearance makes her seems like an indifferent woman who doesn't have attachment to reality, Jarim has a really caring and loving side even though she doesn't show it too often (mostly she only shows it to her family and her friends in the commanders team). She's kinda like a wild card. No one can really tell what she will do and what she has done. She's quirky in her own way. She does what she wants and somehow she can look very innocent and genuinely awestruck about everything. Her lack of sense of reality and social protocols can be refreshing sometimes, but also can be a nuisance to some people. Her weirdness is subtle and intriguing. She's almost like the perfect embodiment of Luna Lovegood in real life.

But on the other hand, Jarim's intuition-driven personality sometimes blinds her from reality. She doesn't know her limit and she doesn't know how to stop herself. She has tendency to push herself beyond limits, but sometimes she's not aware that she was on the halfway of destroying herself if people around her didn't slap her back to reality. She also holds grudges; her peers often say hell hath no fury like Jarim scorned, and they're not wrong. Jarim's revenge is a perfect simulation of hellfire's , Junmyeon said. She also tends to bite her tongue when it comes to her problems. She has her own opinions and she's able to stand up for what she believes in; but when it comes to what happens within herself, she likes to keep it for herself without realizing that that tendency only makes her no different than time-ticking bomb.

BACKGROUND:

For centuries, Land of Exo had a treasure that they kept in a chamber with the tightest security ever. The treasure took form in a shape of a crystal clear gem. Legend said that the gem was a first moonbeam that touched the earth after the creation of the universe. It was also said that any royal blood that could draw the shine from the crystal would be granted a great power that anyone else couldn't handle. But with  great power also came along a great responsibility. The prophecy said that the bearer of the gem would also be followed by a grim fate that could determine their life and death. They would face the great dark force and they had to eliminate it before it eliminated them.

And centuries later, Wang Jarim was born as the second daughter of the kingdom. All people in the kingdom were elated with the birth of the newborn princess. Jarim grew up as curious kid who wanted to know everything and discover the world with her own eyes. She often pursuade her carer to take her to the town and observing the buzzling town square from the sideline as she took notes about everything she saw that day in the night. Unlike her lady-like sister who was famously known for her ability to mingle with the crowd, Jarim liked to stay at the corner of the room and sweeping the sight in front of her with her eager eyes. She wasn't really fond of spotlight anyway. She often lost in her own world and losing track of time because of it. Kids from other noble houses found her very peculiar and bizarre that they prefered to avoid her if they could help it.

When she was thirteen and the kingdom held her debutante, an odd thing happened in the party. The gem --that was exhibited in the center of the ballroom as a long tradition every time the palace held a debutante for a royal blood-- was shining bright when Jarim walked closer to it. The Elders were stunned at the sight of the shining gem and they asked her to touch it despite of her parents' objection. And when she did, a flash of bright light was blinding the people in the room for a moment. When the light was ceased, the King hastily asked the guards to put the gem back into the chamber while her mother pulled her away from the crowd and took her back into her room. The Elders were already waiting for her there. They looked very conflicted as they spot a crescent moon mark under her collarbone. Her parents looked very upset about it and they had a heated argument with the Elders.

Until few days later, her parents called her to have an audience with the Elders. They explained everything to Jarim who was only thirteen years old. She didn't really understand about it, except the part where they told her that she would develop a very great power and she shouldn't be afraid about it. And they also told her that with the power and ability she bore, it meant she dethroned her sister as the successor of the kingdom. Jarim was opposed to the idea of her being a queen by removing her sister from her rightful place and so did her parents. So the Elders backed out although until this day, some fractions still insisted to choose her to be the successor of the kingdom as they thought their kingdom would be more "respected" if they had such power as the highest authority of the kingdom. Jarim didn't care though. But she still had to take mandatory lessons from those old men to help her coping with the new power of hers.

TRIVIA:

✩ She has a pet white direwolf named Fenrir. She found him when she was fourteen in the middle of her usual walk in the woods on the border of the kingdom. The poor direwolf was trapped in a bear trap. She asked the guards to release him and she brought him home and tended his wounds. She kept him with her since then. Fenrir is able to enlarge his size and able to carry two adults on his back when he enlarging himself. His strength is also enhancing as he enlarging the size of his body and the mass of his muscles will be greatly enchanced as well.

✩ She's a very skilled marksman. She knows close-combat is a disadvantage for her small figure, so she decided to learn the art of bow and arrow when she was fifteen. Her telekinesis power often helps her to change the trajectory of her arrow and fools the enemy.

✩ She's a really, really, really bad dancer. Those extra lessons she got from a private mentor that her mother hired seems getting her nowhere.

✩ She loves to sneak out from the palace and takes a walk around the town whenever she feels stuffy with all the extra classes she has to take to improve her skill to be the "future queen". Sometimes whenever she's too tired to take a walk, she will hide in secluded corner of the palace's library, reading books until she falls asleep.

The townsfolk occassionally spot her in the townsquare, observing everything with her curious eyes. They never bother her, though, only giving her a polite nod and respectful smile as they knew that the youngest princess of the kingdom isn't particularily the sociable type like her older sister. Even so, they never miss the small loving smile that Jarim always sends to the children who unabashedly greeting her and asking her to play with them (an offer that she always kindly rejects with apollogetic look).

✩ On the Elders' suggestion to teach her about political affair, her father often brings her to the important meetings with people of the palace. That's how she got closer with the famous Ten Commanders of the kingdom, beside the fact that some of them grew up together with her and they are all practically around the same age as hers.

✩ Because of her hobby to observe people, she's pretty good at reading body language and expressions.

✩ She loves reading historical books and has habits to mumble between her reading.

✩ She's weak against furry animals.

✩ She hates the heat, but she loves afternoon summer where she can sit serenely, eating her watermelon and doing nothing while hearing the summer breeze blowing the wind chime on the window gently.

✩ She secretly wants to travel the world before she's caged by the rules as the leader of the kingdom. As much as she loves her homeland, there's a dream she has within herself as a person, not as a princess of a kingdom.

father
wang jonghyuk (58)

It's not even a secret that Jonghyuk favors his second daughter more than the other. No one really knows the reason why, even Jonghyuk is wondering himself too. That doesn't mean he doesn't love Jangmi, though. He just finds it harder to connect with his first daughter. At least he's still trying really hard to be fair.

Jarim never asked for it. She doesn't even like to be spoiled, but her father still does it anyway. Jonghyuk is deeply disturbed with the fact that his daughter is the beholder of the gem. He's perpetually worried about safety. But Jarim loves her father and she never asks anything in return. She doesn't need material things, she doesn't even need extra protection that her father always offers to her. But no matter what, Jarim respects and loves her father very much. (9/10)

mother
wang junghee (55)

Unlike her husband, when it comes to raising their daughters, Junghee is tougher than her husband. She raised both of them to be a tough woman who won't just sit around while waiting for a man to take care of them. She taught their daughters that they have choices and they don't have to seek for anyone's approval about how they live their life.

Junghee is a compassionate woman who sees the best in life. Have courage and be kind are two essential things that she always reminds to her children to remember. She's the personification of a great wife behind every succesful man. Jarim sees her mother as a role model she always wants to be. When her daughter became the beholder of the gem, Junghee was worried sick about her, but she keeps herself together. and tries her best to help Jarim digesting the new situation she's involved in. (8/10)

older sister
wang jangmi (28)

Jangmi is the opinionated woman you'd always find in every family. She's a strong-willed woman who knows what she wants and how to achieve it. Unlike her little sister, Jangmi mingles with the crowd very well and she's well-known as the social butterfly of the kingdom. She's very lady-like, a typical goody two-shoes woman who implements everything that the Elders has taught her.

Both Jangmi and Jarim are not that close to each other. They don't have any major things in common. Their hobbies are different, their personalities don't match; long story short, they're like those awkward sibling you always see in movies. (5/10)

THE TEN COMMANDERS

Land of Exo is famously known as a peaceful kingdom who can be seen as a pacifist land who refuses to raise their sword against others unless they're threatened. However, it's not a secret that the kingdom's military force cannot be underestimated. Land of Exo has military force that led by ten bravest commanders in the kingdom. Those ten commanders are sworn to be the sword and shield for the kingdom to protect the people within. They're also sworn an unconditional loyalty for the Majesty of the kingdom and vowed to be by his side until their last breath. Three years ago, all of the previous Ten Commanders resigned from their posts and replaced themselves with the younger generations to train them to protect the next leader of the kingdom.

Division I
Kim Junmyeon (26)

Ability : Hydrokinesis
Role of Division : Central Command

Junmyeon is a legacy, meaning that a family member of his was part of the Ten Commanders. His late father was the previous commander of his division, so he thinks he has a lot of work to do to keep up his father's name and to prove that he didn't get his title just because he is a legacy. Junmyeon is a very calculated man whose action is always precise and well-thought. No one dares to defy his command and people trust him to lead them. Junmyeon is well-respected among his peers even though it doesn't protect him from the constant teasing from the younger ones for his grandpa-ish personality.

When he was a little, his father often brought him to palace and let him wander around with the second princess of the kingdom, so he did bond with Jarim pretty well. Junmyeon is the person that Jarim trusts the most. She believes that Junmyeon's intention to protect is pure and he genuinely cares for the kingdom. Whenever she feels anxious or worried about something, Junmyeon always be the first person she turns to find consolation.

And as for Junmyeon himself, after Jarim was granted with the power of the gem, he vowed to be even stronger so he would be able to protect her. He thinks of Jarim as a little sister he never had. He loves her in a brotherly way and he vows to protect her even if it would cost him his own life. (9/10)

Division II
Kim Minseok (27)

Ability : Cryokinesis
Role of Division : Assassination and Undercover Operation

Minseok started from nothing. He was just a commoner who decided to enter EXO's military force when he was fifteen and his career was skyrocketing since then. He's the closest person to Junmyeon and the said commander trusts Minseok the most. Minseok has a subdued personality and the lead commander trusts him to always think in such logical way that emotional distraction won't obscure his judgment.

Minseok doesn't know Jarim that well, but because his best friend befriends the second princess and she often visits him to consult about internal affairs, Minseok doesn't have choice but to see her a lot as well. It's not rare to see Junmyeon and Jarim stare at him to seek second opinion and Minseok appreciates Jarim for her trust even though they're not necessarily in the closest term.

Jarim thinks if Junmyeon trusts Minseok, she can trust him as well by default. Jarim was aware that Minseok's role in the kingdom is not the cleanest and he has spilled blood for the sake of her kingdom. But as she finally realized that Minseok's loyalty for the King is unconditional, she knew that trusting him is the right thing to do. (5/10)

division iii
zhang yixing (26)

Ability : Regeneration
Role of Division : Medical Assistance

Just like Junmyeon, his family member was the former commander of his division. It wasn't his father, but his mother. But unlike Junmyeon, rather than wandering around the palace with Wang Jarim, Yixing prefered to see his mother worked when he was a little kid; although he never refused Junmyeon's invitation to play with the princess. Yixing had a keen interest to medical world after seeing how noble his mother's works were. He decided to follow her step and became the strongest healer in the kingdom.

Yixing has the serious case of a genius ditz. Aside of his amazingness in medical field, Yixing has a asive personality quirks. He can be such an airheaded person when it comes to everything but medical things. He seems like a deer-in-the-headlights most of the time, but his facade turns 180 degree when he works. It's amusing to see that change, at least that's what Jarim thinks. She likes observing him interact with other people and mentally laughs at his genuine loss. She still respects him, though.

Yixing assists Jarim to help her controling her regeneration power. And he enjoys the job. Jarim doesn't mind his strange personality and she seems enjoying their little talks between their training. He appreciates her for not being a pompous princess like he thought she was. (6/10)

division iv
byun baekhyun (25)

Ability : Lumokinesis
Role of Division : Tactics and Control

Baekhyun didn't come from military background. He was a scholar until the kingdom recruited him to be the member of Division IV for his marvelous ability and knowledge about war strategy and diplomacy when he was at the age of eighteen. The previous commander named him to be his successor after the achievement he made along the way. After he was seated as the commander, together with Park Chanyeol and Do Kyungsoo, three of them are known as the EXO's Trident.

No one would ever guess that behind Baekhyun's boisterous facade, there's a great tactician mind inside his head. Baekhyun is known as the playful one, everyone knew about that already. Something about his jolly personality charms people around him, if not annoys that is. He was the one who made "Grandpa Leader" nickname for Junmyeon. The only occassion where he's quiet is when he is in the presence of the King. Jarim often feels awkward with his friendliness. She knew Baekhyun is harmless like a puppy, but his personality is too contrast with hers that she feels unreasonably... mortified.

And as for Baekhyun, it amuses him to see Jarim flustered every time he teases her, at least until Kyungsoo glares at him or Junmyeon scolds him to cut it out. He finds her really fun to be around with although that feeling is definitely one-sided. Baekhyun tries to make Jarim loosened up and have fun just like girls of her age usually do. He wants her to be like an ordinary girl instead of a princess who bears so much responsibility that he think too much for her to carry by herself. (8/10)

division v
kim jongdae (25)

Ability : Electrokinesis
Role of Division : Intelligence and Information Extraction

Jongdae is the newest addition in commanders seat. He was a lieutenant of Division V until the commander was killed in action ten months ago. His division is responsible of the act of sending out agents to extract and gather information from the enemy. On more serious occassion, his division often tags along with Division II's mission. His division also handles interogation of captured enemies and sorting all outgoing and incoming information in the kingdom.

Jongdae knew that as the new guy, he still needs time to prove himself and to earn trust from others. He doesn't mind the doubtful look from his fellow commanders as he knows that genuine trust doesn't come instantly. He doesn't mind if he needs forever to prove them wrong. He's still adjusting with his new work environment, so he's a bit surprised to see the quiet princess always looks at him with a mix of sympathy and trusting look even though she never says anything to him.

Jarim somehow can symphatize with Jongdae's circumstances. She doesn't know him that well, yet. However, she can see the determination in Jongdae's eyes and she respects him for that. That's why she approached him first and helps him to adjust. (5/10)

division vi
park chanyeol (25)

Ability : Pyrokinesis
Role of Division : Combat and Offense

Chanyeol is physically the strongest among the commanders. That's one of the reasons why he leads the frontlines division of the kingdom. But his division rarely works on their own since it's not a secret that they're lack of coordination. That's why Chanyeol works closely with Baekhyun's and Kyungsoo's division to even out the brute power of his troop.

Chanyeol is Baekhyun's soul brother when it comes to goofing around and annoying their fellow commanders. They don't always see things eye-to-eye, but their love for pranking others always make up their clashing hard-headedness. And Chanyeol's hobby to tease Jarim is not so different from Baekhyun's. He's a bit more flirtatious than Baekhyun, but he has no ill-intention. He just loves women in general. And (un)fortunately, Jarim happens to be one of those women-in-general.

And just like her opinion on Baekhyun, Jarim feels awkward around Chanyeol as well. She doesn't know how to react at Chanyeol harmless flirt. In fact, she doesn't know how to handle him in general. Most of the time, she only laughs awkwardly or looks at Junmyeon or Kyungsoo for help. Jarim doesn't hate him, though. Chanyeol is her treasured comrades that she trusts to protect her homeland after all. (7/10)

division vii
do kyungsoo (24)

Ability : Geokinesis
Role of Division : Protection and Defense

Kyungsoo is one of the legacies, like Junmyeon and Yixing. His father was the previous commander of his division, so he gets along very well with the two since they grew up together in the palace compound. His division handles the daily patrol in the kingdom and also becomes the frontlines alongside Division IV and Division VI. But unlike Division VI, Kyungsoo's division focuses on the defense tactics and protection of the citizens.

Kyungsoo is a very polite and well-manered man. He's very profesional and does everything with business-like facade. He's like the balancing force for his two boisterous fellow frontliners (read: Baekhyun and Chanyeol). Some people might see him as a stiff-necked person who doesn't know how to have a bit of fun. But the fact is Kyungsoo is just a natural worry-wart. His protecting instinct is a bit stronger than other people, he feels like he can't fail his job.

When Jarim and Kyungsoo met for the first time when they were kids, Jarim thought he was intimidating and scary. But as she knew him better, Jarim starts to understand him and they start seeing each other as a friend. Jarim doesn't particularly think like most people. Kyungsoo is very practical and realistic and Jarim is the total opposite of that; she's the oddball of the palace. It's inevitable that he has to deal with Jarim's impromptu adventures; from walking around town to taking a trip to the woods at the kingdom's border. And Kyungsoo, as her friend, feels obligated to tag along to make sure she's safe. It's not an easy task, but strangely, he doesn't mind it although he feels like Jarim zapping all of his youth whenever he's around her. (9/10)

division viii
kim jongin (23)

Ability : Teleportation
Role of Division : Reserves and Backup

Jongin graduated from EXO's military academy with stellar grades and he got a bright future ahead after he was promoted as the commander in such a young age. His division handles mass reinforcement. His troop contains with people who has the highest balance in combat and defense stats. When other division require extra hands, they will turn to Division VIII for help.

Jongin has a reserved personality. Not necessarily cold, but he's rather quiet and prefers to not speak up unless his opinion is needed. It's a bit hard to read what's going on in his head. But he's generally nice and well-liked as well. He can be a bit awkward, especially with the opposite gender. Jarim finds it pretty cute, but she never says it out loud. She always holds back an amused smile whenever Jongin refuses to meet her eyes whenever they converse.

And as for Jongin, he mentally hopes that Jarim won't find his shyness rude. He tries to overcome that problem of his, but he still got a long way to go. He tries to consult to both Baekhyun and Chanyeol, who's famous for their social butterfly personality, but he only got a lot of teases and some ridiculous advices from both of them. (6/10)

division ix
oh sehun (23)

Ability : Aerokinesis
Role of Division : Research and Counter Intelligence

Just like Baekhyun, Sehun didn't come from military background; he was a scholar and was recruited at the age of seventeen. And as the youngest of the commanders, Sehun tries very hard to prove everyone that he's capable to handle the responsibility. Sehun's division works closely with Division V to store classified informations and prevents them from leaking out to avoid uproar and mass-panic. His division also handles with warfare research. Long story short, Sehun's division is filled with the bookish nerds who can stab you to death with their new prototype arsenal.

Sehun is a nerd, no one can deny that, even Sehun himself agrees to that notion. He prefers to lock himself in the library, reading the history of the world or making design for new mass weapon for the troops. He's strong enough to be a commander, but if he can help it, he prefers communication to settle things rather than raising his sword.

And Jarim likes him for that. She can relate to the sentiment. Both of them often coincidentally meet at the library and end up having a casual conversation things about philosophy and stuffs. They both -somehow- have a similar perspective at seeing things. (6/10)

division x
wu yifan (26)

Ability : Levitation
Role of Division : Unknown

Division X serves the kingdom directly under the King's command. On paper, the division is still under Kim Junmyeon's authority, but everyone knew it's just a formality to simplify the paperworks. Division X works separately and no one can really tell what their true role is. Only the leader of the kingdom who knows about it. Some argue that Division X is the watcher of the other nine, some other argue that Division X does the dirty works for the kingdom.

The current commander of the division is Wu Yifan. No one ever really knows anything about him. He wasn't a graduate of Exo's military academy and he's not a legacy either. Even the other commanders rarely meet him. Usually people only catch a glimpse of him coming out from the King's Hall in the middle of the night with two of his men tailing behind him.

Jarim only met Yifan few times. He rarely goes to formal audience with the King and the rest of the commanders. Usually she meets him on her way to her father's office and she stumbled upon him after he got out from the room. They only exchange a polite nod whenever they meet. And whenever Jarim asks her father about him and Division X, her father only says that she shouldn't be worried about them and she will know more about them once the right time has come. Her father reassures her that they exist to protect her and the rest of the kingdom. (1/10)

RIVAL:

Choi Sooyoung (852) / playful, cunning, deceiving
Jarim never understands why Sooyoung is very determined to wreck her life. Yes, it is written in the prophecy, but it doesn't have to go that way, that's what she thought. Jarim doesn't want to kill anyone, even if that anyone is not human and only has one purpose, which is to end her life. If she can help it, Jarim wants to end everything without having to spill blood. But if any of her attempts to settle things peacefully fail, she certainly won't back down without giving a fight. She won't die and she won't let anyone she loves die.

MOON princess

EARTH PRINCESS

Hello, princess. can you introduce yourself please?

✩ ...hello, my name is Wang Jarim from Land of EXO. I'm the second child of two daughters and I also happen to be the beholder of one of the six gems from the two moons. Nice to meet you.

so, we've heard that you're one of the holders of the two moons' mystical 6 gems. what is passed on to yours? what abilities do you possess because of those?

✩ I... uh, I possess the Crystal Gem. It gave me abilitiy to move things and to read mind and... regenerate cells. Some folks called it telekinesis, telepathy, and healing.

oh, wow. that's a...strange pet. can you introduce him/her/it to us?

✩ You mean Fenrir? He's not strange, he's just... different. I found him when I visited the woods on the border of my kingdom. He was caught in a bear trap that the villagers set to protect their crops. I asked the guards to release him and I kept him with me since then. Don't worry, he doesn't bite, unless you bite him first.

lastly, we keep getting hearsays from the townsfolk... how true is it that you're getting on quite good terms with DO KYUNGSOO? ... oh! that's all! thank you!

✩ ...well, that's a peculiar tittle-tattle, don't you think? I mean, of course we're on good terms. We grew up together, then he became one of the Ten Commanders and helping me to cope with the shenanigans I got because of the gem. So yes, I can confirm you that we're both on good terms.

DO KYUNGSOo

Land of EXO / Geokinesis

PERSONALITY:

✩ Kyungsoo is a mother hen in disguise of an intimidating lone-wolf. It's a rare sight to see him without a frown on his face. He seems like someone who has seen the worst in the world and lost all of his hope, even though the fact is very far from that. Kyungsoo is a caring person, but he just doesn't know how to articulate that kind of emotion into action nor expression. When he snaps at his troops after a grim situation they faced, that's not because he's mad, but it's because he's worried about them. His troop already knew about their leader's quirk and they understand him. That's why he's still well-respected by his men.

Kyungsoo can be pretty awkward if he forces himself to show an actual affection. That's why Baekhyun and Chanyeol often jokingly forbids him to do that because it's very unsettling to see Kyungsoo showing a pleasant emotion. He's overly polite and talks with formal language to everyone, including to his childhood friends like Junmyeon, Yixing, and Jarim.

LOVE STORY:

✩ As someone who was living close to the palace's life since he was a little, Kyungsoo couldn't avoid his fate to befriend the second princess of the kingdom, Wang Jarim. Junmyeon often dragged Kyungsoo to tag along with him, Yixing, and the princess to wander around the palace compound and play some mindless games that Kyungsoo never really cared about.

But as he grew up together with her, Jarim became someone he was really close to, even though Kyungsoo found Jarim was utterly confusing and, every so often, infuriating. She was like a really hard puzzle to solve. Her extraordinary way of thinking often made him reconsidering his decision if she was really worth to protect, and surprisingly, the answer was always "yes". He didn't really understand himself why all of his decisions always came back to her. Yes, they didn't always see things eye-to-eye; Kyungsoo's practical personalty clashed a lot with her freedom and enigmatic way of living, but that never drove them apart for long. Without even realizing it, they found comfort in each other's presence.

So when out of the blue Junmyeon called him and told him about the prophecy of the beholder of the gem, Kyungsoo was stunned. He never thought Jarim would ever be destined to bear something so heavy. Junmyeon told him that the King asked Junmyeon for the help personally, because the King knew if Jarim's destiny ended up bringing a threat for the Kingdom, as a wise king for the people and the greater good, he couldn't choose to protect her. So he asked Junmyeon to find a person who was willing to protect her even it made him go down as a traitor of the kingdom.

Junmyeon told him that it was a shame of him to ask that much from Kyungsoo as he himself couldn't comply to the task because he was the leader of Ten Commanders and he had to make judgment without any emotional disturbance. He also told Kyungsoo that he understood if Kyungsoo refused his request. But before Junmyeon finished his rambling, without thinking much, Kyungsoo agreed to fill the position. It was a settlement under the paper; no one else knew about all of that except the King, Junmyeon, and Kyungsoo himself.

"Are you sure, Kyungsoo? Are you sure you want to take the possibility of having to face the day where the rest of us might be ordered to kill you?"

And without wavering, Kyungsoo answered, "Hyung, I'll pray to God above so that day would never come. But if my prayer is futile, I'll make sure that I won't make it easy for you guys."

When Junmyeon asked why Kyungsoo was willing to go that far for Jarim, Kyungsoo pondered for a while. Until he smiled genuinely as he finally found the answers of everything he asked to himself about Jarim.

"It's the same reason why you came for me first and thought I would accept this responsibility to begin with."

And since that day, Kyungsoo put an extra work to keep his eyes on her. He snatched every chances to work alongside her. No weird intention, really. He just wanted to make sure that she was well-protected. And at some point, Jarim was irked with his sudden attachment to her. She grunted at him, "Seriously, if you weren't Do Kyungsoo, I would assume you do this because you love me."

And like stating the most obvious thing ever, Kyungsoo said with his infamous deadpanned face, "I do."

Jarim was baffled at his short and simple sentence. She stared at him with wide eyes. But Kyungsoo didn't respond at her questioning look and kept doing what he had been doing before the lightning struck her. So Jarim shrugged off that weird response of his and assumed that he just got a brief short-circuit in his brain although she couldn't hide her knowing smile that she was dying to hide from Kyungsoo.

STATUS: Acquaintances... at least that's what they're trying to convince people about the definition of their relationship.

ENDING: At the end of the day, whatever kind of relationship they shared, both of them never really defined it. It just felt right that way, as simple as that. The brief confession that Kyungsoo said to her as a respond of her complain was the closest thing that defined the real feeling between both of them.

Jarim knew that Kyungsoo wouldn't ever let her fall, and she knew that Kyungsoo knew she would do the same to him as well. Strangely, even with their clashing personality, he understood her. He understood how she longs for freedom and how her dreams were conflicted with her unconditional love for her homeland. And he reassured that it was okay to feel like that, it was okay to be selfish sometimes. He didn't judge her, that was the thing that she loved the most from him.

And for Kyungsoo, Jarim became his muse. It's true that he sighed exasperatedly more often whenever he was around her and he had to exert an extra energy to put an eye on her, but he enjoyed the time he spent with her. He liked accompanying her for a walk around the town. He liked assisting her in her combat training. He liked watching her reading with half-lidded eyes in the library whenever she snuck out from her daily lessons with the Elders. And most of all, he liked knowing that she was safe and sound under his watch.

They respected and treasured each other. And that was enough for both of them. If anyone asked them about it, they insisted that they only shared the same sentiment as a member of royal house and her servant although it didn't need a genius to see that their relationship was transcending words.

"I think even if she gave birth to his third offspring, they would still insist that it was strictly professional." - Byun Baekhyun

"It's not that surprising, really. I know since long time ago, using words to describe what they have for each other is degrading the true meaning of it." - Kim Junmyeon

"And to think that I used to assume that Kyungsoo-hyung is aual..." - Oh Sehun

LAST COMMENT: I think I watch too many Bleach haha, the concept of the ten commanders is very much alike with the Gotei 13's concept, so... yeah. I hope you don't mind. And do I picture Jarim introvert enough? I mean, I think she's not the type of bookish-introvert, but more like a dreamy-introvert... am i making any sense? XD

SCENE REQUEST:

✩ Jarim is training her telepathy power, but she's losing control of her power. She hears thoughts of everyone's and she can't shut it down. She's losing herself, even her trainer cannot stop her rampage. Her telekinesis power comes to surface and wrecks everything on site. Nobody is able to come near her, even the commanders fail to repress her power. So the commanders make a quick plan so one of them could go near her and knock her down. Kyungsoo volunteers to put her to sleep because no one wants to knock down their precious princess after all. But after he manages to come near her, instead of knocking her by force like the original plan, Kyungsoo pulls her into his embrace and asks her to focus on his voice. He whispers soothing words on her ears and promises that everything will be fine. And somehow, his impromptu plan works. His voice is the only thing she hears. The voices in her head are fading out as she starts calming down and her power is ceasing. When Kyungsoo lets go of his embrace, Jarim's legs are giving up and she loses her consciousness.
