I am a simple creature with simple needs who like seeing certain things from characters in my written fantasy land~ They are as follows (of course it is gay): 

Onew: Is a beautiful singer blessed by the gods. I don't care if the fic takes place in a colony of earless aliens. He is a perfect example of perfection in the vocal area. Also smiles. Beautiful smile 10/10. Always. Clumsiness is a cute trait to add sometimes. How could you do Onew wrong? He is so lovable. (Ship with: Anyone, who the freak cares, be open-minded, I personally write him with Joon, also maybe Taemin in the future) 

Jonghyun: There are two Jonghyuns. Present Day Jonghyun. And Jonghyun Before Blue Night. Now I write Present Day Jonghyun which means he must be cute and shy and a dork who gets flustered easily and is 10/10 okay with being on the bottom. Also pink hair is a wonderful addition. Now, Jonghyun Before Blue Night (meaning 2013 and older) has less dorkiness. More cocky and arrogance and NEVER bottoms because why? He is soo masculine. (We are not a huge fan of this Jonghyun anymore but we understand his importance). (Ship with: All. He is the gayest. Everyone. We write him with Key and Taemin but would not be opposed to Onew. Minho would be fine too I guess but we hate him so more on that later.)

Key: Well well well Mr. Hasn't Aged a Freaking Day. Key is known for three things: diva power, power bottoming, and sass. These things are mostly acceptable. However there are the things we should not see from Key *cough* being called mom by Taemin, being in abusive relationships with JBBB, and having to fight tooth and nail to try topping *cough* Key likes fun power play too and is a mofo. (Ship with: Anyone. Don't be in a box. There are no "right ships". But if you ship him with Taemin, and Taemin calls him "umma", I will find you and write a sincere comment about how disappointed I am in you for using such a ty troupe.)

Minho: Alright. We're going to say it. We hate Minho. Not IRL Minho, but character Minho. He's just so freaking annoying. Every Minho is either A) Straight but "gay" for Taemin B) Questioning and and then gay for Taemin or C) (you guessed it) Gay but only likes Taemin because Taemin looks like a girl. *screams* We like to write Minho as a full homo with a foot and brooding like he's a average-looking-white-emo-vampire-guy. And of course he plays sports *rolls eyes* Write Minho as none of this. Or some. But for the love of Jonghyun please make him interesting. (Ship with: NO ONE! Jk, literally anyone. Don't dump on other people's ships. I use to be that person who was like JongKey and 2Min 4LIFE. Now 2Min is my NOTP, like for real though, roll with the punches and write what you want to see.)

Taemin Oh boy oh boy oh FREAKING boy. Love me some character development with Taemin. Alright there are two Taemin's. One you should be writing now. And one that it was okay to write about up until 2013 when Everybody showed up and was like STOP TREATING TAEMIN LIKE A FREAKING INFANT JESUS CHRIST. Taemin from pre-Everybody era was small and frail and super femme and "OPPA~" "UMMA~" and looked like a girl and was super gay and everyone was mean and beat him up boohoo (even though his best friend Key was gayer) until Super Minho came to save the day and then *identity crisis* didn't know if he was gay and Tamein criiied over him because boo-freaking-hoo. Don't write this Taemin. If you do write this Taemin (with femme bod and long hair and slaying the cross-dressing game, which we are a huge fan of when done well) don't make him a Mary Sue. A) He's not a poorly written female character. and B) If you changed him to someone (let's say Krystal, because SHINee writers like to hate her for whatever reason) and you hate everything about him then chances are you wrote a crap Taemin. Taemin now is so complex and has a million directions you can go in~ Mainly because he was treated like a "girl" for so long and is now being seen as a person (?cause women aren't people lol?) with opinions (?) and doesn't like being objectified by *cough* Minho *cough* people. We are in POST-Everybody era which means he has a killer chisled bod and IS AN EQUAL PARTNER IN THE RELATIONSHIP. I hate the freaking "the bottom is weak and frail and must be protected by strong top" like rip my soul out. It's why I stopped shipping 2Min (also because TaeKai took over my life but you know, whatever). Ship with: ANYONE. IN CASE YOU DIDN'T GET THE MEMO ALL SHIPS (with people of consenting age ^^ aka don't you dare touch NCT Dream babies) ARE GOOD SHIPS FAM <3 Personally I like Taekai. And if I want to write Taekai I'm gonna write me some Taekai and I don't need y'all hoes in the comments to be like "I came here for 2Min this is crap" like read the tags fam, or go read some Pre-Everybody 2Min because I gotta a list I could pull out for you. 

Final notes: Love your females of the universe. They don't have to all be hateful ex-girlfriend es. They can be smart, cunning, supporting, loving, courageous, hilarious, and beautiful side characters. And if your antagonist is the crazy ex-girlfriend please give her a motive beyond "gosh, I just really hate him and want to ruin his life because he should be mine".

These apply to all characters in all fandoms but I currently don't have all those character break downs in front of me so forgive me.
