New Year, New System, New Thoughts On Fics

New Year

I started this year having 500+ subscriptions and have now managed to get them down to a meer 99.

*throws confetti*

*celebrates*

New System

It was hard easy to get rid of fics that were deleted (Kayamalie why????) but some of those that I'd subscribed to and never got the chance to read had to be forgotten as well...

Silent readers are just as bad as silent writers. So my rule is: If I won't (haven't) comment on it then don't waste an authors time by false subscribtions.

I love every single fic I am subscribed to and have organized them to enjoy over and over again. *pats self on back*

New Thoughts On Fics

I think you reach a point where you see idols as characters you can do whatever with, but then you might have a moment of realization of, "oh my god they are people and I'm reading/writing about them doing horrible/wonderful things." When you read a fic with the actual idol in your mind and reading about them suffering (looking at you, writer, who had Sehun eat Luhan's tongue) it can make you sick. Whereas cute fluffy fics can make you smile.

I've thought about deleting my fics on days when I really think about the actual idols...

However I remember this rule: If the names were changed would I still be intrigued by this story?

If yes, then subscribe and keep reading ^^ (which is why eating tongues is now allowed [but should definitely still have trigger warnings] )

If the answer is no then you best be asking why you're reading the darn thing.

Fanfics are just fiction stories that, with name changes, could stand on their own. Readers, don't be mad if a fic is not your style, aka if an idol is doing something you don't agree with, you don't have to like every genre of fiction. Writers, know where to draw the line, if you wouldn't write it with other names then it probably shouldn't be written...

That's all I had to say today ^^
