Appearance : She has the same tanned skin as her twin and she used to have long dyed hair (lavander was the last color) but since she started to work in an intership in her fourth year at uni, she dyed it back black and cut shoulder-lenght because it was easier to mantain and her schedule was up-side crazy.
Style : Yunin is half pseudo-nu goth and half slightly hipster, most of the time she is effortlessly "fashionable" with the typical "I don't care about my clothes, I took the first thing I found in the closet" look that could only work for her (not because she's flawless beautiful, but because it goes well only with her aura and image. And because she doesn't care if she looks like she just rolled out of the bed. Probably it's the truth anyway).

Background : Comming from a middle class family, Yunin's life was pretty normal. Her father is a history professor, her mother works at home.
Since she was little Yunin had a hard time making friends because she was one of those kids that didn't act like kids at all, being way too mature and smart for her age. So she was always around her twin Jongin, since she felt he was one of the few that accepted her. Her friendship with Taemin happened just because his parents were friends with her parents and he clicked almost instantly with Jongin, and oh no, she wouldn't leave her brother's side, so she just stuck together and the older boy ended gaining a spot in her heart.
Until her middle school years Yunin was almost always glued by Jongin's side and knowing that she had difficulty making friends, he didn't mind (and he became kinda protective). Tho when he started making more friends, Yunin quicly noticed that the boys felt uncomfortable with her around (since it was that age when boys and girls really didn't mingle much). With lots of effort she managed to make some friends on her own, specially during high school, but Taemin and Jongin always stayed the closest to her.
When it came the time to choose what she wanted to do in university, she was torn between being a History teacher, like her father, or an aeronautic engineer, until someone showed to her Architecture as an option. It was love at first sigh and then she started to apply to every university that had this option. With her good brains and dedication, she joined her first option, Xavier University. And she was extasic when she got the acceptance letter because, c'mon, it's  Xavier University! It's the closest one can get to Xavier Institute! (yes, she was an X-men fan).
University for sure is the best period of her life. Because between her fellow classmates she managed to find people that think more or less like her, and that see the world in a similar perspective. She made friends with them in an span of one week, and the bond got stronger on the last four years. Tho, the most surprising to her was to find a piece of home far away from it. Her housemates were really a mixed bunch of girls, but they became a big, dysfunctional, funny and happy family. This got stronger when she had group problems on her third year, followed by her crazy schedule during fourth year, when she started to work as an intern in a designer studio besides having to deal with studies. The girls helped her a lot with daily small things that made her life so much easier, like remembering to pack leftovers for her to eat on the next day, or letting her bed ready to just crash on it when she pulled all-nightes on the uni atelier and came back home just on the next morning. Now that she's on her fifth and last year she knows she can make it because the girls have her back. Tho she will rarely express it with words, she cares about them too.

Lifestyle : Yunin studies and works, and she tries to have a life besides that. Architecture is a very demanding course and now on her fifth and last year, she will work hard to do well on her final project, while still working every week day from 7AM to 1PM on the designer studio.

Relationships :

Kim Jongin (23) - Jongin is the smiley twin. Tho sometimes a little shy, he's way more sociable than Yunin. He's also the older one, and he uses that card when he's being too protective (to what Yunin says "It's just by five minutes Jong! Calm down!"). This year he will be finishing his double major in Dance and Bussiness Administration and he can't wait to open his own Dance Studio. The twins get along as any other siblings, sometimes acting as the best friends, sometimes arguing about useless things. The only difference is that by being twins,  they have a bigger connection and loyalty to each other than most pair of siblings. He's the first person to whom she would turn if sad or in trouble.
Lee Taemin (23) - Childhood best-friend of both the twins, Taemin is actually a 93' liner, just six months older than Jongin and Yunin, but he's still one year ahed of them in school. He seems like a good boy but actually he's the one that teases Yunin the most, almost like a legit older brother. They still get along tho, and he's a friend that she can always count on with. He just graduated from the same double major as Jongin, and he's already starting to work the paperwork so he and Jongin can open their Dance Studio. He sometimes drop by the house with groceries that Yunin asked him to buy because she was out of time.
Cheon Song Yi (18) - Probably SongYi is everything that Yunin is not, and vice versa. While Yunin is the gloomy and introverted senior, SongYi is bright, sociable and loved by everyone. But Yunin is not a bad person and living in the same place make you necessarily interact with others to the point you need to be comfortable around each other or living together will simply not work out. SongYi sees that Yunin is just reserved, so she's nice towards Yunin, what makes Yunin to be nice to her too. The older girl is comfortable enough around the younger, and that is something.

Interactions : Pearl is the definition of a cool sister. Also helps that she's way more in tune with her own emotions than Yunin, so there is no one better than her to help when her "child" is feeling confused with so many emotions inside her. Usually she would drop by wearing a cool and fashionable outfit and drag Yunin out to her favorite cafè so the student could take a break and breath.
While Yunin is a pure INTP, Pearl is an INFJ and they balance well each other. They both understand the value of personal space and time, but Pearl helps Yunin with the more emotional and social affairs. She's one of those extroverted-introvert and the biggest believer of Yunin's inner romantic self.

Background : Jaehyun is the nephew of a wealthy bussiness man. His mother never married Jaehyun's biological father because he left her as soon as he got the news she was pregnant. Her older broher then helped her since she was shunned out by the rest of the family. So the person that was closer to a father-figure to him always was his uncle. He never ressented his  biological father, since his uncle was always there for him. Although being raised in a home with money, Jaehyun's mother never let him become cocky. Her worries were unfounded since he has a humble personality, but she did raised him well.
He always liked books, theather, movies. He liked to imagine and create new worlds, so it was not a surprise when he chose Language and Literature as a major. He aims to be a writer that inspires people to be a better person. A writer whose stories can excite other's imaginations.
Also his cousin is Choi Siwon, a famous alumini of Xavier University.

Lifestyle : Jaehyun lives with his family, goes to the university, hang out with his friends and write on his free time. He wants to publish his book as soon as he graduates, and he's writting the entire series at once so he would not be bothered by deadlines from the publishers. Between everything he daydreams more than he should. It's a good thing he has fast reflexes, or he would stumble and hit things a lot.
He's currently on his second year in university.

HIM, ME, AND OUR RED DECK OF CARDS

 

Meeting: 
First Meeting: A Clumsy Encounter: They literally crossed paths. Yunin was rushing to her classes holding a really big model when someone bumped into her. All her work would have been gone to waste if Jaehyun was not close by and hand't catch the model before it hit the ground. At that moment Yunin's eyes shone with gratitude and she thanked him profuselly. Jaehyun didn't make something big out of everything and just smiled in return. Her alarm then rang again, signaling that there was only 10 minutes before the due time of the deadline, so she took the model from him and rushed out to her classroom while also still thanking him and she even managed to walk some steps backwards while she was still bowing to him. He just bowed back, smiled and said to be carefull.
Finding the Cards: What's this?: Yunin just found out the deck of cards a day and a half latter, (after she slept for most of the day and woke up) when she droped everything inside her backpack on her bed because she was searching for her wallet to pay her part on dinner. It was then that she found the black velvety box with slightly shinny paisley pattern on it. She opened it, curious, and after many full black ace cards, she found one with a white feather pen on black background. The first thing that passed through her head was 'writing with a feather pen' but she dropped it right after because she still neened to find her wallet (and here was also the first time she met her Guardian, in a very funny situation were Pearl hands Yunin her wallet and she just freaks out and when her roomates run to her room she has to make an excuse because Pearl was not there anymore). While at it, Jaehyun had already met J.Seph the day before and was trying to dechiper what the heck was the major that could be represented by a castle.
Saying hello: Ugh...: Later that night, Pearl could finally introduce herself properly and explain to Yunin what was happening. At first, Yunin just wanted to laugh and then her face was a big "No". She was way to busy to "find love right now". But as a never ending optimistic and idealist person, Pearl gave Yunin Jaehyun's number (more like she added him as "the Guy" in Yun's Kakao) and said "if you're curious, text him". And then even a long time after Pearl had dissapeared again and all the other girls had gone sleep, yun was awake mulling over sending or not a message. It didn't help that she was curious as heck and hand't an ounce of sleepness in her (her internal clock was still messed up). She ended sending a message.
"Ugh... Hello. What's up with the feather pen?" "Are you a writer?" "Oh gosh! It's so freaking late! I'm so sorry!"
And she just dove under her blankets to try to sleep off her mortification. What was her surprise when five minutes latter her phone vibrated with an answer. Scratch that, she positively freaked out.
"That's ok, I was up anyways." "Writing" "Cause yeah, you can say I'm a writer" "And feather pen? Oh! That's what it shows on your card?"
Yunin was on the middle of writing 'Won't you ask who the heck I'm" when she saw the last message and instead wrote "So you know about the cards and decks too???" And from then on they started to text back and forth.

Relationship : They are great friends. You can't say they aren't. Sure, they started as strangers, then they were just text buddies, but along the way they turned into friends. Specially after they started to notice that the other really resembled their guardians, whom they were getting very close to.
Yunin really appreciates that she can talk about serious things with Jaehyun and he doesn't feel bored, he even seriously join the discussion. She likes that he gives her space and she likes his positiveness. She also don't know why, but she feels very comfortable talking to him, to the point that when he took the initiative to actually call her, she answered and was surprised at how easily their talk flew. Like when they were writting. Also since Yunin found out Jaehyun is three years younger, she sometimes doesn't take him seriously. She sees him as a friend and uncounciously is denying every little move he's making, efectively putting him into "friendzone" and unknowingly hurting his heart when she complains that her friends are teasing her for talking to him when "they are only good friends".
Jaehyun on his side admires how honest, strong and independant she is. That she encourages his writting and is always open for giving input and ideas. But as always, he can't help but idealise everything, so he felt hurt when he noticed that she was "friendzoning" him. Did it matter that he was younger? Why she can't see him as a man? He tought that he found the reason when he saw Yunin with another guy (that later he would know it was Taemin). They acted really comfortable around each other, the guy even teased Yunin without receiving a deadly glare from her. What was even more shocking for him, was that she just slaped a piece of paper and a set of keys on the guys' chest and said "Don't forget to bring the groceries before dinner, please!" brfore running of to her class. Groceries?! That guy was close enough to her that she entrusted him with her own keys so he could bring the groceries?! Since then, everything Jaehyun did that involved Yunin, he did with the thought that he had competition on the older guy.

Interactions : Yunin and Jaehyun are pen pals. Or better, Kakao pals. After that night when Yunin texted him they started to "talk" about anything and everything.
They are always seen with their phones on their hands, texting 90% of the time. And their friends are always teasing them for that, and they openly complaing to each other about this too. The first thing they found out were their shared interests. Then to what they disagree on, then to their life views and life perspectives, plans to the future, their friends, family and dreams.
In a considerably short span of time they felt comfortable enought to talk about of all sort of things with each other, even things like "sorry, I was peeing".
They doesn't talk 24/7 because they had their own schedules, but they ALWAYS answer to each other. They even have their own code for when they are busy "sbrh. ttyl" (sorry, busy right now. Talk to you latter) that on the automatic suggestion on their phones. But they DO take the most they can of when their schedules allows both of them to be online at the same time. They would do everything looking to the phone's screen then.
They also have no idea, at first, that they already bumped into each other once. They only recognize each other when they reached the skype level of friendship (or any other type of video-call really), since they started with texting, then calling, then video-calls.
Also, Jaehyun is extra smiley and sweet every time he's texting or talking with Yunin (cough because he's totally whipped cough) while Yunin looks way more comfortable and less frowny and intimidating than she usually looks when texting or talking with him.

Ending : Jaehyun once asked Yunin, on a moment that he was feeling particularly daring, "What a guy can do to win your heart?" To what she answered that her heart was not a thing, nor a trophy to be won. He became quiet and pensive after that, and silence fell over both until he broke it again. "Then how will you know he's the right one? What would make you give your heart to someone else?" To that, she just sighed before answering. "I don't know. I think I will just... feel it. Maybe someday I will look to that person and I will realize 'that's the one'. I don't think we can have control over those kinds of things."

Since that day, Jaehyun was more mindful of his actions, so he would not be forceful. The awkward tension that was building up between then slowly dissipated and they returned to their old and comfortable relationship. Jaehyun secretly smiled sadly when he noticed that Yunin was back at "friendzoning" him, but seing how much more comfortable and happy she was without having to face his frequent 'investings', he couldn't make himself to go back to pushing his feelings towards her.

Yunin on her side breathed in relief when her relationship with Jaehyun went back to being nice and comfortable. And although she was oblivious to his sad smiles, she was very concious of Pearl's sulky pout. The situation between Guardian and 'child' started to become awkward, to the point when Pearl couldn't take it anymore and started to nag to Yunin about how unfair she was being to Jaehyun. It came to a point when J.Seph had to step in and take Pearl aside to make her calm down, while apologizing to Yunin (the four were trying to have a picnic on campus and Pearl took the opportunity when Jaehyun left to buy drinks, leaving the other three alone). Seeing the two guardians from afar, Yunin had an ephiphany that J.Seph was the one that Pearl was in love with (because she remembered the time when her guardian once told her that she also was in love with someone that didn't saw her as a woman, when Yun was feeling confused about JAehyun's feelings), and a deja vù, because suddenly she saw herself and Jaehyun in place of Pearl and J.Seph, just that she was J.Seph while Pearl was Jaehyun. And things suddenly made sense and she could finally understand Jaehyun's point of view.

The next day Jaehyun went to meet Yunin on their usual bench to have breakfeast like they did every Saturday, and found her already drowning an extra large cup of coffee. Her face also told him that she needed the caffeine.
"Good thing I brought chocolate muffins besides the cheese bread. I think you need the sugar."
His voice made her look up. "Oh. Morning Jae. And thanks." 
"What's up? Did something happened? Another deadline?"
"No. I just... had a lot to think about. Yesterday, I saw something that made a lot of things to click in my head."
Jaehyun just nodded while sitting down and giving her her share of the bread, both falling into a comfortable silence.
"Oh, before I forget, that's for you." And Yunin handed Jaehyun a small envelope. He turned it around and opened it, taking out a handmade deck card. It was black, like the ones from their decks, but when he turned it, instead of a spade ace, there was a heart ace, with "I want to try" handwritten bellow it. Jaehyun stared at it, surprised, than back at Yun, then at the card, then back at her. "Wha-"
"I know it's cheesy, but I thought it was pretty obvious what the heart meant." Listening to this, Jaehyun stood up right away and embraced a slightly blushing Yunin, spinning around while chanting 'thank you!' and laughing, while Yun squealed surprised and was saying repeatedly 'let me down! I'm getting dizzy!'
When he finally stopped spinning and put her down, they were both dizzy and had to use each other as support. Just to notice when they raised their heads that they were close. Like, VERY close to each other. The surprise made both of them to hold their breaths while looking at each other's eyes. And Jaehyun's heart almost stopped when Yun closed the distance between them with a kiss. On his lips. (to be thruthful, it was more of a peck, almost, but Jaehyun overheated anyway) While he was breaking all the human records of levels of blushing, Yun chuckled and said "You're cute when you blush."
That made Jaehyun snap out from his condition, because he managed a half strangled, half squeaked "Hey! That should have been my line!"
And then they heard a really high squeal and a muffled shout of "Yes!" that, when they turned around, was probably made by Pearl, since she was struggling against J.Seph's hands that were covering . The male just gave them a pained look, that they knew was his version of mortification, and mouthed "Sorry". The new couple just burst out laughing.

In the end, they were not complete opposites, not perfect halves, but they still complemented each other, like hues on a chromatic scale.

(And while they were leaving for a spontaneous date, Yunin was setting the rules of their relationship "No overly, touchy, not being cheesy, we will still respect each other's personal spaces, we WILL have our own lives, and we will take it slow, ok?" To what Jaehyun was just smiling hapilly to her and answered with an "Yes Ma'am")

- Yunin doesn't like talking on the phone. She feels way to nervous and weird, specially when she needs to talk with someone she doesn't know, so if she can, she prefers to just send an e-mail or even go to the place and talk to the person face-to-face. While some people can that sending messages is way more impersonal, the old soul in her still sees messages and e-mails as a new form of letters.
- Yun's favorite super heroes are Raven, Scarlet Witch, all the Bat Family and Doctor Strange.
- She likes to play video games and listen to classical music (like Bach, Mozart, Bethoveen, Tchaikovsky, etc...).
- She has a black cat that she named Toothless because he just looks like the dragon so much
- Yun knows how to cook anything and everything that has chicken on it because both her and her twin are chicken-maniacs.
- Totally a geek and hystory lover. Tho she rocks on math too, thus why she chose to do  Archi-tecture.
- She enjoys doing movie marathons on rainy days. Usually she would binge watch those big movies sagas and her house- mates are always welcomed to join her on the comfy couch.
- Besides classical music she also listens to traditional east asian music, rock, edm and indie. Some of her favorite bands are One OK Rock, Imagine&Dragons and Daft Punk.
- She doesn't eat pork because once she had food poisoning eating that. She also deslikes sour food, tho she likes spicy food.
- She's great at drawing, be it landscapes, buildings, or even people. Tho her style for people is something between realistic and manhwa/manga.
- She's very eco-friendly and is always nagging the others to close the faucets right and to don't forget to shut down the lights when leaving a room.
- She's a feminist and she believes in gender equality. She would stand up for the right of men and women to work or to stay at home as they wish. She thinks the work market should be a little more feminine, with more possibilities for women to be able to work and be moms at the same time more easily, the same way she thinks men should also have paternity license when their children are born.
- Her usual face expression is half bored half sleepy,  consequence of her crazy schedule.
- She's the one on whom the girls test new face maks and anti eye bag products. Heavens knows she needs it.
- Her best friends are caffeine, neck pillows, eye corrective and her fully charged notebook.

- She tends to be the mom sometimes, always making the girls remeber to get jackets and umbrellas before going out.
