BACKGROUND + One would never think the union of a plumber and a cashier would result in the person who is Lee Hyunwoo, but the facts do not lie. From a young age Hyunwoo always had an appreciation of beauty. He liked looking at beautiful things and talking to beautiful people. Hyunwoo looked around at a world that values beauty above anything else and embraced those values.

The arts were always something that interested Hyunwoo, though he never had much talent for them himself. He used to love dancers, especially. The way they moved their bodies and turned them into an artform intrigued him. He also developed a love for poetry as a way to turn words into art. While he had no immediately aptitude for either, Hyunwoo worked with what he had instead and endeavored to make his face into his work of art. He was always rather stunning, a natural beauty, and his growing interest in the art of makeup only enhanced that. It was only a matter of time before he'd find out the path of the ulzzang and turn his beauty into something profitable.

He was 16 when he got his first modelling gig from some online clothing store. His parents both supported his pursuit of modelling, partly because the little bit of extra income was welcome. He spent the next few years juggling school and modelling, and was even in a commerical for a back to school stationers once. He spent most of the last year doing more modelling after he failed his college entrance exams. He doesn't feel too bad about that, he'd set himself up to not care if he got in or not, but that did leave him with a sense of what now? Take the test again next year? He was going to, but he through some of the acquaintances he acquired through modelling he found out about Big Hit auditions. He'd never considered becoming an idol before, it hadn't been on his radar at all, but he found himself wondering why not? 

TRAINEE LIFE + Despite Hyunwoo's lack of skill, he got accepted as a trainee for his looks and his promise. He has a decent voice and aptitude for dance that were both trainable and Hyunwoo enjoyed the training a lot. He was always used to watching performing arts, never being a part of it, and while the idol genre wasn't the one he admired it was still using his body and voice for art. It intrigued him, so he worked hard to improve.

Despite only having been training for a few months, Hyunwoo adapted well to the life. He doesn't know many of the other trainees, being an eloquent speaker and a friendly and approachable person are two very different things, but he doesn't mind so much. Hyunwoo is used to being independent and taking care of himself, he doesn't mind.

Lee Hyunwoo a bit of an odd person. He is someone who is both calm and very intense at the same time. Hyunwoo lives a little in his own world, which is a good thing, for when he comes out into this world the intensity quickly doubles. Normally Hyunwoo goes through life with a sense of both control and absentmindedness, as if he is content going with the flow for he knows exactly where it will take him. Why worry when the destination is pleasant enough? Stress is not something Hyunwoo ever appears to be under, mediocrity is just as good as excellence to him for most things. Hyunwoo likes control, and he achieves the feeling of control mainly by not caring much about the outcome of things so as not to give it power over him. If he doesn't put his heart and soul into something it won't have the power to be disappointing, something he has been taught by his repeated failures. 

You might wonder, where does the intensity come in? Rarely, is the answer, but perhaps that is just as well for an intense Hyunwoo is a frightening thing to behold. Lee Hyunwoo is still human, and a human with passions and goals of his own. There are two things he is very passionate about: beauty, poetry and adoration. His love for beauty is very general, Lee Hyunwoo is a great appreciator of the beautiful things in life and as such he is very dedicated to maintaining his own and appreciating that of others. And what is poetry and eloquence if not language made beautiful? Then there is his nee for adoration. Hyunwoo wants to be loved but as many people as possible. He craves being idolized in a way that can't smimply be summarized by a need for attention. It is more a need for validation and appreciation of his art.

Temperamental in nature, Hyunwoo's moods are like the wind. One moment he is sitting in the corner as always, off his own world, only partly engaging with the real one. Next moment a comment falls wrong and switch flips and Hyunwoo's temper is activated. An angry Hyunwoo is a cold and intense one. Looks that could freeze, passive aggressive words that find chinks in armours, and a quiet yet undeniable threat. The atmosphere in a whole room can instantly chill when Hyunwoo's anger is triggered. No matter how angry he is, or how much the other person gets heated, Hyunwoo remains cold and distant, never lowering himself to uncivilized behaviour such as raising his voice or namecalling.  His passive aggression is much more eloquent than that. It's his way of remaining control. One has no felt true cold until one meets the eyes of a furious Hyunwoo.

Lee Hyunwoo has this quiet presence that attracts attention by his being. He's captivating to watch when the spotlight is on him, and his eloquence makes him captivating to listen to while he speaks. Sure, he's not the best dancer or the best vocalist, but it is undeniable that nobody is a center quite like Hyunwoo is. Still, he's not very good at teamwork. Hyunwoo has never had to do anything of the kind before. Be in a group, form a solid unit, Hyunwoo has no idea how. He can be frustrating to work with simply because he looks out for himself too and sometimes simply forget that the good of the team is something he should be looking out for. He is also only partially interested in the group in the first place, and his natural independence come with a side of disinterest in the group. He does things on his own and forgets that others are here too. Others have a voice too, and he should go out of his way to care about that. The line between who Hyunwoo likes and cares about, and who he dislikes and really does not care about is a solid one and Hyunwoo can be brutal in maintaining it. It does not matter if you is in his group or not, if he doesn't like you then he won't pretend either. Honestly matters more than pretense.
