Are you a part of the LGBT+ community and are there any misconceptions/tropes you see in fanfics?

And if you are, do you write LGBT+ people in your stories/like reading fics with LGBT+ people? Also, are there any misconceptions/tropes you see related to LGBT+-ness in fanfics that annoy you?

In my case, I identify as Panual and write/read about EXO mostly so the LGBT+ possibilities are kinda endless imo xD.

Lastly, Happy New Year everyone and here's to a kick- year!

Yes, I'm a part of the community (sometimes I identify as demi, other times as pan and when people are being annoyed and knows too little I identify as bi) and I both read and write LGBT+. To be honest, I really really really rarely read cishet. It bores me. Enough of that. I don't mind a het-looking couple if one character is bi or trans or genderfluid - or literally anything but cishet.

It annoys me a little when gay relationships are described as heteroual relationship and a male cis-character is called "wife". (Ok, it annoys me incredibly when cis-males are called "wife" in a gay relationship).

But I both read and write genderbend too and that brings infinite possibilities. Genderbend/genderswitch is the best thing that ever happened to the SHINee and EXO fandoms when it comes to fanfiction in my opinion. (But let's be real here; there's a lot of LGBT+ fics about SHINee and it's not at all gay, I've read almost everything from trans-characters to non-binary characters to aro aces and hyper-uals. And I love it!)
