background.
— First thing first. Her first spoken language was English, since her parents made sure she learned her mother language before anything else. As she was born with natural linguistic skill, she has learned to master English, Russian, Chinese and French from early years. Her father initially wanted a son, thus explains her boyish name, Robin. She grew up into a boyish girl too for she experienced minor violence and harsh words from her parents, and she used to have more male than female friends. Her parents made sure that she grew up strong but still graceful like a lady.
— Early life, the fall, and the rise. Robin was born in Belfast, Ireland prior two days from Valentine's Day, in 1995 and became the sole child born to Irish and Russian-Chinese parents. Her parents are Riley Holmes, a business tycoon, and Darya Xian, a florist. In 2007 right a week after her graduation from primary school, her father's business went bankrupt as his colleagues stabbed him in the back with the help of his own brother, and with the little money left—after compensating company's excessive debts and penalties for violating contracts—they moved all the way to Shanghai where her maternal grandparents lived at. Her parents had always been strict, and they became a lot stricter after the incident. Meanwhile she tried to keep up with social life and adjusting her beliefs and way of living with the culture and customs in Korea, she was always bright in both academic and non-academic fields. By the end of her last year in junior high school, she decided that she wanted to write a book that sells.
— Upon the pursuit of happiness and dream. As a senior high schooler, she was bright and her family—even her big family acknowledged that. She was constantly demanded to do better than anyone else, and in a way she was living her parents’ wishes instead of walking the path she wanted to choose. Out of frustration, she began to write more and more until when she graduated high school she had already finished writing three books. She was one of the top rank in her high school, majoring in Social Science and was granted an award and a certificate for being one of the best alumnus. Later on, as her father’s business revolves around technology and engineering, her parents told her to enroll into a computer science technology—despite the fact that she originated from social science class, so she had to take a test. She passed the test and hence began her journey as a college student in Computer Science department. She has always been doing fine—she is not the type to study hard but she always gets high scores, but came the seventh semester and she felt like she was not having any more of it.
lifestyle.
— She is currently in her seventh semester of her bachelor degree program, which means another semester—which she will spend by writing her final thesis—and she’s done. But 3 months into her seventh semester, she started to feel hollow that it has gradually become a mild depression. She has always been relying on her and only herself, that she tends to get things done on her own instead of waiting for people to finish it for her—including the group projects. She’s known as a natural leader in every group project she’s in, and she always manages to make the entire group earn good scores. But she has been craving for adventures. She wants to run away from the town and from all the people who knows her name. She feels like she was born to fly high, it’s in her nature, yet she is caged in the home that doesn’t feel like home—with demands and outstanding results expected from her, with people who constantly rely on her in everything because she’s been very dependable and trustworthy for the three years as a college student. She is happy that she can do at least this much for her parents, but she is not happy. And it has drained all the inspiration and motivation dry out of her.
❝ how do you feel about winning a tour in seoul? ❞
she beamed a radiant smile, delight played in her pair of onyx orbs, "i've never been this ecstatic before. I think it came as a big surprise for me that i thought 'wow is this another bad joke' because 2016 has been nothing but a huge bad joke." she chortled feebly. "i'm utterly grateful and elated. i'm really looking forward to the trip. i don't think i can sleep due to the excitement."
❝ why did you want to go to seoul in the first place? ❞
"simply because i have a knack for k-pop and korean dramas?" her eyebrows up, a broad playful grin adorning her countenance. "that is the x factor, the main reason is because i want to go wherever, away from the town i'm currently living in, away from people who know my name."
❝ you'll be in seoul for 5 days and 4 nights,
what are you planning to do during the duration of your stay? ❞
she hummed as she pondered the question, her lower lip slightly jutted out as her gaze wandered around. "truthfully i'm not very good at following a schedule, so i'll just go with the flow. i'll make sure i'll do things that make me happy."
