APPEARANCE : Iseul is a beauty, that much is undeniable. Not everything is natural, certainly not her double eyelids and perfect little nose, but that's not something she'll ever admit to. She has that classic feminine beauty Korea loves so much and she's well aware how important that is. Iseul is a bit obsessive about maintaining her beauty. She's on a strict personal diet at all times, she hasn't eaten anything fatty in years, and works out to maintain that narrow waist. She never goes out with makeup, though it's always natural so it looks like she's barefaced (she's really adept at 'bareface' selcas), makes sure to wear only the strongest sunscreen outside and stll uses lightening creams on top of that, and always makes sure her clothes are on point.

PERSONALITY : The self-proclaimed ambassador of Seaing, Iseul is used to being the most popular member in the group. She is completely comfortable in front of the cameras, having already debuted once the whole rooky nerves thing don't affect her at all. Iseul knows how to talk to cameras like nobody's business. She's very good at portraying that polite and sweet image with just the right amount of life to get noticed but not be too vibrant or annoying. She has this effortless air of femininity and was ready to become the nation's next little sister/girlfriend/whatever title they wanted to give it this time until her company went backrupt and Flora was disbanded.

So so focused and goal-oriented that it becomes both a virtue and a flaw. On the one hand Iseul is tenacious and will work hard to complete her goal of becoming the new it-girl. She gives her all when it comes to promoting the group and herself and can be relied on to represent the group and the company well. Iseul is steady and reliable, a rock when it comes to the camera and the stage. On paper she might even have made a good leader had she not been added to the group so late. But the truth is she's so focused it turns into something like tunnel vision. Iseul is so obsessed with this goal of hers that she doesn't see the forest for the trees. She just doesn't think about things that don't concern her goals, completely forgets about them. Her health? Secondary to her obsession of hitting all the beauty standards. Breaks? Secondary to maintaining her social media presence and promoting herself. Her members' feelings? Secondary to making sure the group doesn't fall into a scandal. Iseul is basically partly a pr manager at this point. This is her second change and she's not going to waste it, and little things like her humanity and her members aren't going to stand in the way of that.

Not facets of her personality that she's proud of, and she tends to pretend they're not there, but Iseul can be very sneaky and two-faced. She gets jealous easily and being the most popular member she likes to keep it that way. If anyone else starts infringing on her territory she will start getting defensive and try to dissuade them. This is seen with the blobfish, who she has convinced that showing off her voice is not a good idea, she'll probably just be bashed for it by netizens, you know how they are right? Things like that to subtly dissuade and put down those who she feels come too close to her territory.

Most of this just stems from her insecurities as well as her tunne; vision. For a very brief moment it looked as if she might be the next it-girl when she was still in the group Flora, but that didn't last long. Now she's just really scared of losing her position and her worth. If the blobfish starts getting more lines, will she overtake her and leave Iseul in the dust? It's an irrational fear, Iseul is still the most beautiful of the girls in Seaing and if there's something Korea cares about it's beauty, not vocals, so she'll be fine either way, but that fear is still there. Iseul is working towards one thing and one thing only: nation-wide popularity, and she will get it. If she has to stab someone in the back to do it then she will. She won't be proud of it, but she'll do it, and then she'll lie to herself about it and deny it long enough to delude herself into thinking she's not this selfish pretty terrible person.

Iseul manages to make herself believe that she's a good person, that she deserves to be popular, that she's all the things she pretends to be in front of the camera: selfless, kind, polite, worthy of all the praise. The ideal girl. But she's not, ooh no she's not, and one day that's going to catch up with her.

BACKGROUND : 

Iseul is a small town girl with big dreams. Coming from a small town near Busan, nobody expected Iseul to do anything like start training in an entertainment company and become a well known idol, but Iseul always knew that was what she would do. She was made for the stage. She was 16 years old when this new entertainment company was holding auditions in Busan. She went and auditioned and got signed as a trainee and that was that. It caused a considerable fallout with her parents that hasn't been mended since, but Iseul went to Seoul to train.

And so after 3 years of training she debuted in the girl group trio Flora in mid 2015. Their concept was somewhere between energetic fun and sweet innocense amd they did fairly well for a group from a nugu company. Most of that was Iseul, who was immediately noticed for her beauty and charisma. Things were going fairly well, they were invited to some shows and Iseul alone got some endorsements here and there. Her fame was rising rapidly and then it all stopped. The company ran out of money, the CEO had been embezzling and ran away with the money that was left and the company itself was dissolved. Flora was no more and Iseul was out on the street. This was mid 2016, almost exactly a year after they had debuted.

Iseul wasn't sure what to do at first, she spent a while just figuring out what her next course of action was. Then her old manager called her up, she had some connections with Lemon Entertainment and they were preparing to debut a new group. The company was more than willing to take on Iseul, what with her existing poopularity, and debut her in that group. Iseul grabbed the opportunity as her second chance and now she's determined to make it count.

HABITS : 
▷ Iseul is a morning person and usually the earliest one up. She has a routine where she showers, weighs herself, makes herself some tea, goes through social media, puts on her face and gets ready for the day, eating whatever her diet allows this time, and is done.

TRIVIA :
▷ She's always changing up her diet after reading somewhere or other that it works. She's done an apple diet, a sweet potatoe diet, a cucumber diet (which was hell, you can't even trick your stomach into thinking that's not just solid water), sometimes she just drinks water to try and feel full. She's generally on a fairly healthy chicken + salad diet in the nonpromotional time, but when it's time to gear up for debut all the stops are pulled to lose those last pounds.

▷ She was always big on dieting, but she developed this obsession with her weight when an MC in her first month of debut told her that she was pretty but could stand to lose some weight.

TRAINEE LIFE

 

YEARS OF TRAINING : 4 years at New Star Entertainment, including a year of being debuted, and 2 weeks at Lemon Entertainment.

TRAINEE EXPERIENCE : Iseul was always one of the top trainees at New Star. She already had a great voice and a great face, it didn't matter that she couldn't dance at all. She worked hard to become an idol, in that tunnel vision way of hers, and didn't make many friends. The only friends she had were usually the untalented ones, Iseul likes to surround herself with those who are no threat to her, no need to get jealous that way. After 1 year of training New Star started putting together plans for a new girl group. 3 girls were selected to start training together and most of the other trainees were let go. Iseul was, of course, one of the 3 to debut in the new girl group and for 2 more years they all worked tirelessly together to get to a level of the company's standard and then, in spring last year, they debuted. 

Now she's back at the trainee life, well, sort of. She knows she's gonna debut in a few weeks but it's still weird to be living in a trainee dorm. Everyone's a stranger here and she has no support network or friends, so it's been hard. Not many trainees feel kindly towards the one brought in just two weeks ago who is already sure to debut.

SCHOOL LIFE : Iseul dutyfully went to high school during her trainee days, until she graduated just before her debut. It was hard on her to balance both her grades and her training, but she was determined to keep at least decent grades. As you might expect Iseul did not get a lot of sleep in those days.

CURRENT LIFESTYLE : Iseul has just moved into the trainee dorm as a temporary measure until Seaing officially happens and gets their dorm. It's been weird that's for sure, she hasn't lived with so many people or been back to trainee status in well over a year. So now she just goes from the dorm the the company hq and does some very awkward training, tries not to get in anyone's way, and of course keeps her presence up on social media.

FRIENDS :
▷ Friends— Na Jina (21) | trainee / former Flora member | Forgiving, tenacious, sarcastic, witty  | Iseul was always closest to Jina in Flora. Jina is the kind of girl who doesn't mince her words and is sarcastic to a fault, the total opposite to Iseul's diplomatic politeness, but that's why Iseul likes to go to her for advice. Jina is now a trainee in another company trying to get back it, but she doesn't have the same level of reknown and looks to fall back on as Iseul has.

RIVALS/ENEMIES :
▷ About that — Blobfish  | Iseul is friendly enough to the blobfish, after all this is diplomatic Iseul we're talking about. In fact she rather likes the girl, there's nothing against her as a person. However after finding out about her voice Iseul because jealous and scared and she's since tried to put the blobfish off of showing her true talent by convincing her it's better not to try instead of trying and failing really hard.
