Debate with me

Do you guys think it's appropriate for children near the age of 4-5 to have Facebook or any type of social media already? I mean, they're run by their parents of course (specifically the mothers) but I've often found it a bit odd.

As much as I respect the fact that they do it to boast their child to people they know, I've wondered if it's a healthy way of raising a child. I mean in today's society where technology is heavily relied on, I know at some point they will be influenced by devices but at such an early age where they can't give their consent to do it is what they want, makes me a bit uneasy.

What do you guys think? If you were/are a parent, would you make your child/children a social media account at a very early age?

I agree with you, I was raised without those social media stuff and very sometimes I could play a game on the computer. I don't think kids need that stuff and I don't think it's good for them

Hmm if I were a parent I don't think I would make a social media account for my children. They would be too young and I wouldn't want them exposed at an early age to the public. Especially on social media. It doesn't matter if they want one because other people have it, I would want them to be themselves and not take what others think to consideration. Also, social media can change a person and it wouldn't be the best option for raising a child. Also technology is helpful but it wouldn't be a healthy way of raising a child. If their exposed to technology they might become spoiled and do things that they see on the internet or not listen to you because they are too busy on the internet.
